We have never had Puerto Rican food before so we decided to give it a try at Triana. We started off with some very tasty piña coladas, and decided to stay awhile to watch the flamenco show. Although Juan Carlos is quite expressionless, he is extremely talented and it blew me away. For the main course, my husband had the shrimp mofongo and I had the crab mofongo. They were both quite bland and uninspiring, but the shrimp mofongo had a bit more flavor. It wasn’t very busy while we were there, but our waiter was hard to find and we had to wait a long time for the bill. Overall, the show was cool but the food is not worth eating.

I am only giving the restaurant a three star because we ate here at lunch and I suppose the dinner hour would be a better time. The server was not very friendly and was not able to recommend any of the food. We would go back to try this place at dinner time on another vacation.

The food was decent, but it took extremely long. The dancers were great individually, but the dancers paired up were out of sync and one of them had really messy hair. Even though we didn’t have the best of service, at the end the dancers interacted with the audience and it was a blast! Also, their soap is amazing.

This is a cute place if you’re curious about Flamenco. They even invited people up to learn some steps. The food was also good… A large menu though which I hate because too many options make me sick. Editing for the owner: my friends and I were visiting and just happened to see and hear the Flamenco from outside. We missed the beginning of the show but both my friends ended up on stage. It was fun but would be annoying with a crowd that’s not into it.

Amazing food with great Entertainment. We went on a Wednesday night and was able to see the 8 o’clock show, which to me is a must see. We had Maricello as our server and he did an amazing job, very friendly. The food has more of a Spain culture so if you get tired of Puerto Rican food, you can take a little visit to Spain.

Amazing night(s)… We found this restaurant last year during our week vacation in PR — we had dinner there twice that week. Well, we made it back to PR last month(march 2016) and had it on our schedule for our first night in San Juan. We were once again blown away by the food and the hospitality. So much so we brought friends(first timers in PR) to eat and enjoy the show later that week. We all had a blast. Again, service was excellent, food excellent. If you are ever in Old San Juan you must give this place a try! Special thanks to Harold for his generosity!

The bartender was on his game. He was able to make recommendations about food and knew a great deal about wine as well. The music was mostly excellent though there were a few times they were letting guests play the piano in the foyer and that was not enjoyable. I recommend you enjoy the Shrimp Mofongo and the Salmon in Manchego Cheese sauce. Both were delicious, and I’m told represent the flavors of the area quite well. Thank you for a lovely evening Triana.

Never had Puerto Rican food until this restaurant! It was romantic, had a wonderful show and gave me my first taste of Paella. I compare all paellas to them since! Thank you for my first experience to Puerto Rican culture and food!

Atmosphere was fun! Missed the Flamenco dancers because we ate at 6:30 pm and they came on at 8:30 pm. Food was good, sangria was good.

I would have given this place a Five Star except we had one minor incident which almost ruined my birthday night. And this problem was when we came to check in for our reservation for the Flamenco show, after having eaten two previous excellent meals there. They wanted to seat us at the back after we had guaranteed our reservations for the front. My BF thought it was a racial thing, but I tried hard not to dwell on that.(when we showed up, the young lady asked us if we had reservations and we said yes and gave my name. She looked puzzled, she walked to the Maitre D, they confèred over the seating chart while whispering in Spanish and she tells us to follow her. She offered us a seat towards the back which was not what we had reserved during our second meal during the day in anticipation of the flamenco show. Needles to say my BF had a sour taste in his mouth and I just tried to smile it off. When we refused, she smiled and showed us to our original table reserved and we sat down) So, with that said. The food is great, I mean really delicious. The Flamenco show is a must see. Highly entertaining, the music is beautiful, the dancers just watching the joy on their faces while they dance makes you want to leap up and join. And join we did. We happen to have been there celebrating my 35th birthday dinner and all birthday and anniversary celebrants were called on stage to learn some hip and hand moves. Boy was I happy. Wine selection is really good but bloody expensive, so know your wines before ordering. The staff is professional but I would suggest going during the day.

So this is a typical touristy place in San Juan, I’m not usually a fan of such places since they are overpriced and the food is ok and the service is usually bad– which was all true for this place, I still give it the 4 stars exclusively for the flamenco performance which was my first. The dancers were amazing and the singer, although a little creepy, was entertaining and great with his music. Not sure if I’ll go back another time though-I spend 50 $ on below average food and wine.

They overcharged our credit card. Service was terrible: our server never came back after the food was served and we couldn’t even get our check when we wanted to leave. We waited 20 minutes at our table trying to get his attention, then decided to go to the host at the entrance for help. She tried to tell our server, who continued ignoring us for the next 10 minutes. We reminded the host again and told her we had to leave and we would just leave if they were still not going to bring the check. This managed to get our server’s attention and he brought the check after a few more minutes. In the end, he charged us $ 1 more than the amount we wrote, giving himself $ 1 more tip. It’s a small amount but we felt cheated on top of a bad experience. Do check your credit card statements after dining here — he could do the same for a bigger amount on bigger checks. Food was terrible as well. $ 14 for 2 langoustines(actually they were not much bigger than normal prawns) that were not fresh and had a mushy texture. The octopus(one of the house specialties) was tasteless and had a weird rubbery texture too. Iberico ham was of poor quality. We did not order the seafood paella but it seemed popular with other diners and might be a better choice.

Pretty awful. I guess for cruise ship people this might count as food but… truly is awful food and it’s overpriced.

Me and my BF came on a Monday night expecting to see the flamenco show however they didn’t have it and told us to come the next night on Tuesday. We did lol. Monday night we had dinner here. My BF ordered the Tbone steak and he enjoyed it. I had the seafood spaghetti and it was really good. Their portions are really big! We had some sangrias as well and those were good. Tuesday night we came for the flamenco show. There’s a Spanish guy playing the guitar and 2 flamenco dancers on the side, That was really cool and he was funny. Given their portions were big the night before we just decided to have tapas. Once the flamenco show was done people moved to the front and started dancing. There was salsa lessons but we didn’t stay for that. Good experience.

Stopped by for a bite before take off. Great location and nice décor. Has plenty of vegetarian options, for main dishes and tapas. Not as quick as desired but the food is wonderful. Had the vegetarian lasagna and it was definitely different but amazing.

This is a nice spot in Old San Juan to go for both Spanish and Puerto Rican food. We tried an sampler appetizer of spanish tapas that I posted a picture of. My favorite was the potato omelette which was basically potato, cheese and onion – I could’ve eaten a whole order of it! My friends also tried the beef, shrimp and shredded chicken mofongo plates – the favorite being the chicken. We were there for lunch and missed the show, but still loved it and had a great experience.

After numerous unanswered emails and phone calls, I was finally able to get a hold of someone at Triana Tapas & Flamenco Restaurant. I made a reservation for 9 for Saturday night and we were confirmed! I was happy and relived. The entourage cabbed it into Old San Juan for a dinner filled with tapas and flamenco dancing. Of course it was too good to be true, once we arrived at the restaurant, they couldn’t find our reservation and the restaurant was full to capacity. The manager assured me that I must have made reservations at a different restaurant but I brought out my smartphone and showed him the phone # and details confirmed, «show starts at 8:30PM and lasts approximately 1.5 hrs.» He quickly changed his tune and said they would try to get a table for our group. The restaurant décor is pretty cool. There were string lights and lanterns hanging in the lobby and a corner with flamenco costumes displayed. While we waited, we had $ 4.00 Bacardi flavored mixed drinks and Patron tequilla shots at $ 9.00 each. Our table was ready and we were seated! The restaurant quickly filled up as the dancers prepared for their performance. We started off with a pitcher of sangria and another round of drinks. We quickly learned that our waiter, Marcel, didn’t like that we kept ordering shots from the bar. The menu was overwhelming and we wanted to try everything. I had to take notes on my phone just so we could keep track. I don’t remember all the names of the dishes but we ended up with a fried potato dish, fried calamari, appetizer sampler with a few of everything, cured meat and cheese platter, octopus salad, 2 mofongito dishes, spaghetti and shrimp, an eggplant dish with crab and an eggplant dish with manchego cheese, a seafood paella and a squid ink paella. Oh boy, my mother is watering reliving all these dishes. Quickly after our meal was served, the performers came on stage. There were a few ladies and a male dancer. The meal and dancers were very good. Pricing was a bit on the higher side. With tax and tip, the total came to about $ 450.00 for 9 people. That included 2 paellas, a bunch of tapas, sangria and a round of shots.

We came here on our last night in OSJ because we wanted to see a live show. The place gets packed so be sure to make a reservation or come early. We asked the waitress about serving sizes, and if we’d have enough food for our group with 3 different dishes. She insisted it would definitely not be enough, so we increased the sizes. Definitely not the case! We ordered the tapas sampler, paella triana, and a few pounds of their fresh fish. We had 5 people… Way too much food. I loved the paella, and actually preferred it compared to the paella in Spain! It was fresh, hot, and packed with flavorful seafood. The tapas sampler was terrible. Do not order it. I think next time I would order a la carte tapas. The fresh fish was tasted, but the fried part of the fish was more soggy than a nice crisp skin, which was disappointing. The flamenco dancers were all amazing, enthusiastic, and lively! The show and music they put together really draws you into the story line. I’d love to come back on our next journey
