24 hours Walgreens for the win! The prices here for all your basic essential needs are way expensive and jacked up way high to reflect the upscale milieu of San Juan’s Condado district. When I think about this – why not? Mainly tourists frequent here so they can afford the higher prices. This Walgreens is nothing too special, it’s just in the heart of the Condado — so if you need a toothbrush or a cheap t-shirt, you can come here and get that. Fortunately since PR is part of the U.S., you can also fill your prescriptions here too! I only came here because my luggage was lost, so I had nothing to tide me over for the night. Toothpaste, toothbrush, a clean t-shirt, contacts solution, shampoo, body wash totaled almost 30 bucks! This would have costed maybe $ 15 – 20 back at home, but being in the heart of tourist central, I had no other option. Plus it was 11PM. Come here only if you really need it, but I’m sure there are better and cheaper options if you have a car, if you are willing to drive out there, and if it’s even open! The staff here are pretty nonchalant, like at other Walgreens I’ve been to in the past, except they speak Spanish to you instead of English. I’m surprised(and amused) that the young gentleman who rung me up told me the total price in Spanish, despite me looking like an obvious tourist!

Eh… I’m a bit disappointed with this Walgreen’s! My friend and I came here with the goal of purchasing a spray sunscreen and they had a pretty good selection, but they didn’t have any under $ 10. We ended up buying it anyway, thinking this was probably the cheapest place to buy it. Turns out, the Supermax across the street from our hotel had the same selection and everything was under $ 10. Lesson learned: shop around!

The Walgreens on Ashford Avenue in the Condado Area of San Juan, Puerto Rico needs some serious help in terms of staff and customer service. Be prepared for a looooong wait when you check out. The employees love to yap and yap about stuff in Spanish and take their time when it comes to checking you out. I only used them because they were the only thing around the area that had the products I needed.

As others have stated, Wallgreens on Ashford in PR has many of the things you will need during your trip, but is totally lacking in service and speed. I realize coming from Chicago that things move much faster, but there is no reason why cashiers should be talking to their friends in the store while lines at the checkout counter back up. You will also have to search for American Coffee, but that’s not too bad because PR coffee is great.

It’s open all hours and has all the things you need but the service is lacking The people that work there didn’t seem friendly. One girl couldn’t even bother to look at me when I asked where I could find hairspray and I asked in Spanish! So I know she heard and understood me. Whatever. I found it without her help.

Open 24 hours a day! Yay! This is seriously important. I love this drug store. They have everything you will need. If you have forgotten something or need something, like a soda, or sun tan lotion or just anything you need from a convenience store, this place has it. Thank god! Friendly people as well!
