This was one of the best meals I have had in recent memory. A great little find in the Carouge neighborhood of Geneva. October brings out the«hunt menu» which was heavy on Red Deer, Rae Deer, rabbit, and pheasant. Many dinner items are cooked in the open chimney fire, which reminded me of how steaks are cooked in Argentina. An impressive wine selection, with the majority of the wines being either French or Swiss. We were a group of six and the service was wonderful. We shared a bit of everything. Several colleagues ordered the fillet de perch and it was so well presented and flavored. I ordered the Red Deer fillets, cooked on the open chimney fire. It came with root vegetables and a salad. It was an absolute incredible flavor and presentation. One of our party ordered the rabbit stew and that, too was incredibly done. Oh and the homemade shoe-string french fries that accompanied the filet de perch was truly a work of art – they arrived in these wonderful, small, silver cups. La Huchette will not disappoint you and will be in your top ten restaurants – that is a fact and you’ll have to try it to believe it. Make a reservation. We arrived when it opened at 7PM for our reservation and by 8PM the place was packed. I will definitely return when I’m back in Geneva.

Très bon restaurant où le prix du menu du jour est très correct: 19Francs. Les viandes sont saisies à la cheminée, c’est un régal ! L’ambiance est sympa, et le service rapide. Je conseille vivement ce petit restaurant !

I absolutely love this restaurant. Every time I’m going to Geneva I have to take dinner there. The best meat I’ve ever had! There special is château briand and they do it on charcoal grill in the middle of the restaurant. The Spanish couple may not be the funniest persons and the service is not the best, but it doesn’t matter. The husband is preparing the meat and the wife is bringing a potato gratin which is also the best I’ve ever had. I always order the meat rare and it comes perfect. Outside it is good brown and has the wooden taste and inside it is rare. I only can recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves a good piece of meat.
