Hotel Sonne

I don’t need a lot of space when travelling alone; Hotel Sonne suited me just fine, but there wasn’t space for practicing dance moves.
I was planning a fairly cheap weekend of snowboarding, but all the Brunni and Einsiedeln ski dorms were full for the weekend, so I grabbed a one-​person room at the Sonne. The room was tiny, the TV was tiny, the in-​room bathroom was tiny (no door, just a Wild West-​style swinging divider)… but it was all clean, and cheap, and quiet, and smoke-​free.
Breakfast was quite pleasant; 5-​minute eggs, Bircher Müsli very heavy on the nuts, bread, jam, and cheese.
The server did turn on the radio to static and leave the room without noticing, but they were happy to shut off the white noise when I pointed it out.
The ground-​floor pizzeria was closed for remodeling (new pizza oven) when I visited, can’t comment on that.
The WLAN is free, but I never managed to get my Android phone to connect to it properly. I’ve had similar issues in other hotels, so I suspect an issue with a particular brand of access point, rather than something broken at the Sonne.

Ich habe über einen Zeitraum von einigen Monaten die Gastfreundschaft im Hotel Sonne genießen können.
Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach eingerichtet aber sauber und zweckmäßig.
Das Frühstücksbüffet ist durchaus reichhaltig und von sehr guter Qualität.
Im angegliederten Restaurant, sowie in der im EG befindlichen Pizzeria wird einem eine gute Auswahl handwerklich sauber zubereiteter Gerichte angeboten. Eine Ausnahme stellen hier die Pizzen dar: Die sind mit die besten die ich je gegessen habe! Einfach Sensationell!
Gastgeber Mario Bolfing schafft es mit seinem Team und viel Herzlichkeit und Professionalität die kleinen Mängel die dieses alte Haus mit sich bringt zu vergessen.
