Café Cuba

Les boissons et la nourriture sont bonnes, la musique est parfois trop forte et on a de la peine à s’entendre sinon je trouve que c’est un peu cher bar malgré tout…

Two stars only for the friendly waiter. The only thing Cuban here is the name, the Cuban music being played, and the Havana Club rum being served. I’m writing as I sit here…
The menu offers a few plates you could expect to find on a Cuban restaurant menu, but that’s where it ends… I am from Miami. My parents were Cuban. I grew up on Cuban food and have it all the time — even the worst restaurants in Miami are better than than this for food. This is more of a bar which has some appetizers named with a Latin twist. There is not even a hint of Cuban flavor in the food here.
I had a mediocre mojito, an appetizer of empanaditas (chicken), and since there wasn’t anything remotely related to Cuban cuisine here, I had a burger (add bacon and sauce) as my meal… They didn’t even call this a frita to make it seem Cuban LOL.
Oh wait… I just got the burger. First, the 100g (¼ pounder) is tiny. I paid the extra 2chf for bacon and another 2chf for the «bbq sauce». Warning: this «bbq sauce» is more like thousand island! And the bacon, well it was meh… Upon the first bite, you can instantly tell this burger came from a frozen, pre-​formed patty. On the plus side, the fries were tasty — and took up ¾ of the plate… I can feel my stomach turning… Check please!
By now I wasn’t going to spend another penny in this place. I was not going to order a cafecito or anything of the sort. Incidentally, the desserts included absolutely nothing «Cuban»… Appetizer = $ 12; drink = $ 16; burger = $ 18; add sauce and bacon = $ 4… Total damage for a made-​from-​frozen burger and stuff, $ 50!!!

Good food, great drinks, nice big terrace. They have made many improvements since the time I went there everyday (about 6 years ago). Lunch menus are good and the tapas list extensive. The mojitos are deeeeelicious!

Bar latino très sympa dans le quartier de Plainpalais… très animé.
On peut y manger (plats ou tapas) et sinon les cocktails sont très bons.
Je le conseille à tout le monde ;o)

A deux pas du grand parking de plainpalais et accessible en transport public, le café Cuba donne un air latino à Genève. Idéal pour un apéro en terrasse avec cocktails de là bas et tapas. Les salles intérieures sont très agréables également. Une soirée au Café Latino entres amis c’est assurément un bon moment.

Oué, en fait, j’aime bien ce bar, on peut y manger des tapas en écoutant de la muz’ cubaine. Mais le point faible, c’est qu’on né puisse pas vraiment danser sur cette musique entraînante. M’enfin voila, c’est quand même un cool endroit.

Comme si Cuba venait à Genève
J’ai découvert cet endroit il y a déjà un moment. A l’époque je voulais trouver un endroit sympa où je pouvais écouter de la musique cubaine et fumer un bon cubain (un cigare bien sur) sans que les gens né soient dérangés. Ils proposent des canapéas confortables, des coctails délicieux et surtout de la bonne musique cubaine.
