Hidden away in a quiet by lane of Geneva, Little India is quite a nice surprise with the food. It’s my second visit here, and I have more or less stuck to my order from the last time. ‘Bhindi’ which is Lady’s Finger, Tandoori Roti and Vegetarian Samosas. I just needed some salt though, which is common throughout most indian places in the EU. The quality is consistent, the service is very good and friendly, and the ambiance is cozy. I will always come back here. Another star will be given, when I try other dishes and if they are as good.

The food was decent but nothing exceptional. We had tandoori chicken(of our dishes, it was the best), chickpea curry, and aloo gobi. We also had white basmati rice. Pros: they attempt to be cute and high-end by starting with complimentary papadam bread and alcohol free cocktails. I give them credit for trying. But the result was that we laughed at the free papadam offer because it wasn’t even one full piece. It ended up appearing a bit odd. Food appears fresh and with good quality ingredients. Relatively inexepensive for Geneva($ 15 dishes and only a few are needed to share for two people). We didnt order alcohol and our bill came to $ 54. As for prices, keep in mind we kept it mostly vegetarian. The fish and meat dishes were approx $ 25 each and would have resulted in a much pricier dinner. We ordered two vegetarian dishes and it was more food than we could finish. Cons: curry was too hot(spicy hot). As a result, I didn’t get to taste the flavors of the dish. Food wasn’t memorable or exceptionally tasty. I’m not sure why another Unilocal reviewer said it was the best Indian in Geneva. If that’s the best, Indian is lacking in Geneva. Décor was traditional indian but nothing exceptional. Bathroom was a bit«public.» Service wasn’t super friendly. Our server made a nasty face when we asked to switch our credit card. It was no incovenienc to him since he hadn’t run the card yet. Not sure why he had such a reaction. All in all, I didn’t have a terrible dinner but I also wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

What a nice surprise hidden away in paquis. This is genuine Indian food, not the watered down stuff for boring palates. Service is efficent and no nonsense. The décor has a rustic charm. And the meat in the curries(always a potential failing point) was cooked tender and just right. A solid four and a much needed addition to the often mediocre dining options in paquis.

The restaurant itself was packed on Friday night(so obviously popular) but there was ample seating outside. The service and the preparations were very good. We thought it was a bit pricey by U.S. standards(cost us 25 Swiss Francs each without drinks or dessert) but that’s apparently quite reasonable in Switzerland and compared to other places we checked out nearby. Serving sizes were adequate though smaller than typical in USA. The rotis were modest sized(so we ate two each instead of one) and the raita at 6 Sw. Fr. for only about four table spoons was a bit of a rip-off. But given the good preparations and the service we left happy and satisfied.

Very different recipes, peas in the tikka masala. Not what we’re used to. The butter chicken had a flavor of cheese. Perhaps more adapted to local food traditions. Would not go again. Ok service, the naan is really good.

Last Saturday we went to little India without made reservations, nevertheless we got a table until 8:30 pm. We had lamb korma and lamb madras with rice and a special indian garlic bread both were excellent and genuine and two bottles of mineral water. For Switzerland the cost effectiveness was ok(in total 69CHF). The only criticism: one of the waiter was a bit unfriendly and hectically. However, I will be back.

My favorite Indian restaurant in the Geneva area and neighboring France. I have eaten the following and find them to perfection as I am comparing the flavors with those of other places… this is by far the best. Palak Paneer, Lamb Curry, Fish Curry, Chicken Curry — all are to die for seriously. The heat and coolness together is perfect. The fish is tres spicy which I loved. You will enjoy this place tremendously and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Decent enough Indian food, but something just doesn’t feel right about playing CHF27 for a small bowl of butter chicken. Sigh…
