I have heard rave reviews about Blackbird and it took me a while to check it out! It was good but a bit light. We got a veggie omelette and eggs Benedict; both tasted good and were well seasoned but we finished still feeling a bit hungry. If I go back again I would suggest ordering three dishes for two people.

Very accommodating staff that asked two women to move to fit our party of 5. Hip décor, great tall black coffees and my kids enjoyed the pancakes. I had the veggie omelette, large proportions and fresh salad. Would recommend it!

Best café and restaurant in Lausanne. Just as simple as that. Great coffee, great drinks, great sandwiches, great breakfasts and great Indian currys. Oh, and btw the music and the service are perfect too.

Great place! We went for breakfast during the week and it was a super cute atmosphere inside, nice waiters who spoke English and French perfectly. I got a coffee and an oatmeal, both of which were delicious and, for Swiss standards, reasonably priced. My friends got the bircher muesli, pancakes and an assortment of hot drinks. We all enjoyed everything, although a topping of bananas on the oatmeal was 2 francs, which was perhaps a bit steep! Also free working wifi was a bonus. Highly recommend!

Visited twice, fail twice. According to their website ‘We believe that all happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast,’ but I forgot that they must be obliged to be leisurely on the Swiss schedule, meaning not ‘breakfast until closing time,’ but only until two hours before. Now breakfast all day(or at least during all opening hours) would be a nice and new concept for the region. But no. So the 1st time I went to do the hash brown verification test, they were no longer serving food. Fail 1. Went back soon after to once again, do the hash-brown-true-test-of-a-good-breakfast-place test. Fail 2. Floppy, not crispy, «hash browns.» I grew up eating, among many things, American breakfasts make at home that satisfied my father from the South, and also eating at greasy diners(Just Breakfast, Pork Store Café!!!) so I suppose I have a high standard for American breakfasts. Whatever, hype. People don’t seem to know any better so have nothing to compare to. That is why everyone in Lausanne says, for example, Holy Cow has the best burger, or that Burrito Brothers has great burritos. More mediocrity at the Swiss price. You can find great recipes online and cook them at home a million times better.
