Restaurant Chez Mario

Très très bonne pizzeria avec des très bons produits et la sensation du fait maison avec amour!!! Malgré le prix élevé, on né regrette pas! Et la décoration atypique fait le reste!

Lors de mon dernière passage, j’avais pris une des pizzas phare de la maison (celle ou il y a un peu tout) et c’était très bon.
Cette fois-​ci, j’étais un peu moins convaincu par mon choix même si c’était bon quand même. Il me faudra une 3ème visite pour peut-​être mettre 4…
C’est certain que la déco murale «User Generated Content» est originale, mais peut-​être qu’une fois tous les 10 ans ce serait bien de repeindre et recommencer à zéro, non?
Il me semble qu’on né peut pas réserver. Le service est sympa et rapide en général.

Nice atmosphere and staff, great location, fast served. Maybe a little bit too fast as pizzas were just cooked, limit not enough. My friends plate was looking like pre-​cooked and warmed up in microwave or oven.
Last year, the pizzas were the yummiest in town, the food delicious, but this time, everything was just all right.
I just give three stars as maybe it was just a «bad day» that time we went. To try again.

Sur les deux pizzas commandées les deux avaient de la Rucolla non nettoyée…
Plein de petits insectes se promenaient sur nos pizzas… L’horreur. On nous a changé nos pizzas malgré tout mais personne né s’est excusé et même pas un petit quelque chose offert pour compenser.
PLUS JAMAIS!

J’adore cette pizzeria et le lieu est original. Un peu cher peut-​être, mais ce n’est qu’un détail, je n’ai jamais été déçue! Pizzas vraiment délicieuses.

I came here for the first time two years ago and left with a good impression so I decided to come back and had a high expectation.
I arrived at the restaurant at 18.10hs not realizing that it only opened at 18.30hs. I met the hostess downstairs (who was very nice at this stage) and she confirmed that the place would open in 20 minutes. I came back at 18.30hs on the clock and found other patrons already inside… I was greeted by the same hostess I met earlier and although there were several available tables I was shown a table right next to a couple… I’m not sure about personal space here but I certainly didn’t feel comfortable sitting next to them on a near empty restaurant and asked to sit somewhere else. This is when the hostess attitude changed. She wasn’t rude but it was clear that she disapproved of my request, shown by her body gesture.
Anyway, I won’t write much about their service because it’s definitely lacking. Not courteous, not attentive and definitely not kind. Good thing the pizza was ready in a few minutes!
The pizza itself was a disappointment this time around. I’m not sure if the oven has changed but the crust wasn’t crunchy as you’d expect on pizza prepared on a wood fire oven. The calabrese was chewy and impossible to cut with the knife. On top of that, the pizza is small and not enough for those with big appetite!
I asked for an espresso for dessert and to my surprise it was the one I liked the least so far here in Lausanne.
Needless to say I was disappointed with this visit, a huge contrast to my previous a couple of years ago. Let’s hope this was simply a one off and that the next try will bring things to the good side again.

La première pizzeria de Lausanne (?). Connue pour ses murs gribouillés. Bonnes pizzas, un peu trop grosses à mon goût. Service assez rapide, mais peu cordial.
