McDonald’s

It was our first day in Switzerland. My husband and I were walking around enjoying the scenery and noticed that it was starting to get dark. It was around dinner time and we realized we had not eaten yet. Of course NOTHING IS OPEN. I never thought I would be so happy to see those ‘Golden Arches’!
When in Switzerland, eat McDonald’s. LOL.
They did have these Bagel burgers on the menu which were different and Ovaline and Toblerone McFlurries! We both ordered a Big Mac combo. I haven’t eaten a Big Mac in several years, but we were on vacation, so why not?! I had to get a Toblerone McFlurry too.
I think total we paid close to $ 20 US dollars for our meal (2 meals and 1 McFlurry). I guess in Europe they are not so giving on the ketchup. My husband and I both got combo meals so we each had fries and the guy only gave us ONE PACKET of ketchup. (Same thing happened when we were in Paris haha.) We had to ask for more. Oh us Americans love ketchup.
They have a seating area upstairs which was nice. It felt more like a café than a fast food place. Overall, there was nothing special about our meal. It’s just like any other McDonald’s.

Walking around downtown Lucern, our party of three needed to use the restroom and because McDonald’s has free restrooms, entered, but were stymied! This McDonald’s has a lock, which can only be opened by a code which is on the bill when you purchase food. So we ended up buying Medium Rosti Fries (cause that’s something not available in the US) and paid 4.90 chf plus 20cent for a ketchup satchel. The fries were so-​so, I didn’t think they were that great, but definitely different from regular chips (and we got the opportunity to compare as a few of the regular fries had found their way into our carton at the bottom).
So I must say the décor of this McDonalds was very swish –they had very elegant and comfy chairs downstairs and upstair, the booths were very comfy and looked very upmarket. The bathroom was nice and there was a mini-​basketball court for the young’uns. Oh also, the free wifi? Well it sucked :(I kept getting disconnected and we had to enter our cellphone nos to get the «free» code to log on.
Would recommend you get something from the McCafe to get the free bathroom code rather than the regular menu, but only go if really need to, otherwise skip it.
