Kulinarischer Leckerbissen! Hatte Tagliarini della duchessa und bin begeistert. Konnte sogar eine grosse Portion bestellen und zahlte nicht mal mehr dafür. Von mir 5 Sterne und komme bestimmt wieder!

Another fabulous experience at this restaurant. Everything was pitch perfect tonight. The appetizer and entrée were excellent! The drinks were ice cold. The server was fast and friendly. Fell in love with this restaurant all over again. Since we’re moving to this neighborhood soon, this will be our GO TO place to dine!

Good pizza in Zurich. Inline with Swiss prices but at least you get what you pay for. It’s the first time I had beef carpaccio on a pizza and it was really tasty. Came here on a Thursday night with four people and there were no issues getting seats, even sitting in their outdoor patio.
Would give it five stars but they charge for tap water — CHF 2 per tap water pitcher! Complete rip off especially in Switzerland where the water here is super clean and plentiful — there are water fountains on the street corners! This type of practice should be banned in CH.
Would come here again if craving pizza in the Sihlcity area.

Had the Amore Mio (29.50fr) Pizza, and it was GUT. I added fresh basil and the house chili peppers (which are fresh, not dried, and was also gut!).
The size of the pizza was big, and generous with the topping. The price is Swiss price, so glad that it was good. Friend had a pasta and it sounds like they house make the pasta. I’ll try that next.
Would recommend this place for a solid pizza or pasta.
I would of given 5 stars, BUT, they charge for tap water. I think that’s lame.

We walked in on a Sunday night at 6:30 without a reservation. After starting with the Insalata di Rucola and Parmesan (split it as it’s large), my wife had the Caramele alla Medici (ravioli with ricotta and spinach) and I had the Taglierini della Duchessa (taglierini with black truffle and mushrooms). The pasta is freshly made at the restaurant. Both were delicious — on a par with the best pasta we’ve ever eaten. If you’re staying at B2 Boutique Hotel and Spa or nearby, it’s a short walk. The servers were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Great dining experience! The food was delicious and the service was pretty good too!
We had the Insalata Afrodite which is a stir fried mixed seafood appetizer. Generous portions of mussels, clams and two huge tiger prawns. The flavor was absolutely spot on, and the portion was huge!
I ordered Maccheroncini alla carbonara di mare but I substituted the Maccheroncini for spaghetti as I’m not a big fan of wheat pasta. The portion was once again huge! So much pasta and full of mussels, clams and shrimp! I tried to finish the whole thing but it was just too much!
Bf ordered the Parma e Rucola pizza because I heard the pizzas were amazing! True to the reviews, the pizza was great as well! Generous amounts of Parma ham with every bite!

Don Leone is a local neighbourhood restaurant which is always busy and ideally you should call ahead and book a table.
That in itself is a good enough review for here!
Great value pizzas, pastas and salads.
Also you can get a takeaway pizza for times when you can’t get a table
The staff are really friendly too. More so than at many other Zurich/​Swiss restaurants
I went last night and I shall be going again !

Wir hatten am Freitag Abend um 20:15 reserviert. Wir mussten schon mehr als ¼ Stunde auf unseren Tisch warten.
Wir mussten noch eine Weile warten, bevor wir bestellen konnten. Als Vorspeise hatten wir uns grillierte Gemüse als Antipasti gewünscht. Erst 21:30 kriegen wir das Antipasti, die Zuchetti und Paprika waren fast roh und das ganze mehr kalt als lauwarm. Auf die Hauptspeisen mussten wir auch noch warten. Es hat zwar geschmeckt aber das Service war wirklich nicht gut.
Auf die Rechnung waren noch 5 Kaffe, die wir nicht getrunken hatten…
Meine Empfehlungen: Pizza bestellen um zu Hause mit einem guten Film und guten Wein zu geniessen.

Das Don Leone ist zusammen mit La Baracca mein Lieblingsitaliener :-)
Der in Waffenplatz, ein Bisschen mehr ausserhalb das Zentrum, ist für mich noch besser als die Haupfiliale.
Ich habe bisher immer die gleiche Pizza bestellt, dir mit Büffel Mozzarella, und jedes mal hat es hervorragend geschmeckt.
Die rucola immer gut gewaschen… Sogar ich (Freak mit chirurgischem Auge für Insektensuche in Salat) hatte nie etwas zu meckern.
Pizza wirklich gut, nettes Personal, abwechslungsreiche Menü… Ich komme sicher immer wieder gerne hier :-)

The food has never disappointed. This location is always a little friendlier and more organized than the Stauffacher one. Although this time, we weren’t greeted by anyone upon arrival and kitchen staff ignored us so I sat myself, then had to be moved. Service aside, Don Leone, along with its sister restaurant La Baracca is still the best Italian in Zurich.
The bread is served prior to the apps and mains. I always request olive oil for the bread. Their OO is always tops — fruity and robust.
Today we had a spinach salad with diced hard egg and warm bacon with a great Italian vinaigrette.
Then we had a seafood carbonara concoction made with unique long twisty pasta noodles. The cream sauce was good but the eggs weren’t properly tempered so there was a bit of scramblage going on. No holding back on the fruit of the sea! a half dozen large lip mussels, about dozen meaty clams, bland steamed calamari and 2 delicious jumbo prawns. A huge portion, enough for two to split.
Their pizzas have remained large and in charge as I noticed today — whereas La Baracca’s have reduced in size and brawn.
I love Don Leone for their creative menu. Everywhere else is so predictable.

Came here for an early lunch with a coworker today. When we sat down outside, the server asked if we had a reservation, even though there was hardly anyone there. That didn’t make any sense to me until I realized that the place got packed about 30 minutes later.
Was pleasantly surprised by my orecchiette seafood pasta, which had GIANT, succulent shrimps. :D The orecchiette was a bit hard and chewy, slightly reminiscent of Chinese sticky rice cakes. I guess that’s what they call al dente.
The décor outside seemed fairly new, and the food seemed pretty authentic. If I come back here again, I might try a pizza next time, as a lot of people were ordering it, and it looked rather tasty.

Der Don Leone ist das beste italienische Restaurant in ganz Zürich! Wenn ich zum Italiener oder Pizza essen will, dann muss es Don Leone sein. Pizza immer riesig und super lecker. Auch andere Gerichte (weiss gar nicht mehr was ich alles bereits gegessen hab) waren auch immer sehr gut. Hatte bisher noch nie etwas im Don Leone gekriegt, was nicht geschmeckt hatte.

12 Uhr, der Hunger meldet sich unweigerlich. Mein Arbeitskollege zückt sein Handy, fragt mich noch kurz nebenbei «ist Pizza recht?» und während ich noch knapp nicken kann, reserviert er kurzerhand einen Tisch für uns. Wir laufen los, es ist etwa ein Fussmarsch von 20 Minuten in der brütenden Sonne. Natürlich gäbe es ein Bus bis zum Restaurant, aber nein, der Herr läuft lieber und ich muss mich fügen. Während er eine Zigarette nach der anderen qualmt frage ich «wohin gehen wir eigentlich?» die Antwort ist kurz und bündig «in die beste Pizzeria der Stadt».
Aha, danke, jetzt bin ich schlauer. Ich necke noch mit «ha, das kann doch jeder sagen.» und endlich sind wir da, die Füsse brennen, der Hunger ist langsam unerträglich. Der Kellner winkt uns schon zu, anscheinend ist mein Kollege ein alter Bekannter. Das Restaurant ist so voll, dass ich mir kaum vorstellen kann, hier überhaupt noch irgendwo einen Sitzplatz zu finden. Doch da, in der Ecke, reserviert für uns zwei. Bei der riesen Auswahl fällt es mir schwer, eine Pizza zu wählen und doch hab ich es geschafft. Ein paar Minuten später kommt eine Pizza, die von der Grösse her locker ein Wagenrad sein könnte und riecht, wie der Himmel auf Erden. Fazit, es war wirklich die beste Pizza, die ich jemals in der City gegessen habe. Und den Fussmarsch habe ich seither öfters gemacht. Nur ohne meinen Kollegen war ich immer so schlau, genügend vorher zu reservieren.
