Perhaps a 4 star in Zurich isn’t the same as a 4 star in other big European cities. This one wasn’t terrible but it was disappointing with its severe wear and tear. It is one of the more affordable 4 star hotels and perhaps that should have clued me in. The lobby isn’t grand or luxurious but the prompt and professional service helped me check in quickly. The location is a quick 5 min walk from the main train station. It’s quite convenient but it is in a deserted side street instead of the old charming Zurich area. The room is quite terrible compared to other 2 hotels I stayed in the Zurich area. Though it is clean, it is in serious disrepair. Rust in the sink, shower drain didn’t work and flooded the bathroom, and an old saggy bed that tilts nearly 3 inches lower to one side… And that’s just the big issues. If I had to come back, I’d skip this particular one. It is affordable but for 20 more francs, I can get a much better room in a more charming part of town.

They have free apple juice in the lobby. They also have the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Everything seems homemade.

It looks that more than a year has passed since someone wrote a review. Well, the hotel certainly has charme and more class than other business hotels in Zurich. The service is very good(had breakfast in my room) and the location is perfect. As an Accor silver level card member I got upgraded twice to a bigger room. THANKYOU! «Bigger»? I do not want to know how«big» the single bed rooms are. And the furniture needs to be replaced … Because € 200 is not cheap.

A good choice for a business trip if you’re tired of all hotel lobbies looking the same and are after a bit more character. Conveniently located less than 10mins walk from the main train station and good value relative to other city centre hotels(though note this is a higher price bracket than I’d pay for on a personal holiday!). I loved the little touches around the lobby — ok yes, I mean the freebies. They had a large urn of apple juice by reception(just the thing whilst checking in), as well as a coffee machine and muffins if you wanted to pick up a quick brekkie to go(sadly I didn’t spot these until check out when I’d already used the overpriced breakfast buffet). Room was a good size with plush bed and even a ‘pillow menu’ to really make you feel special(I was very tempted to call up and order a spelt chaff pillow out of curiosity). The bar was a nice spot to get a nightcap though they kept to the strict 11pm kick-out time and I’m not sure if the lone trainee behind the bar had pulled many pints before. I forgave them though thanks to their compact but tasty whisky selection :) Overall this place has a nice warm welcoming feel with lots of traditional wooden décor in the lobby rather than the sterile metal and glass I’ve gotten used to seeing at other places. And of course the dealbreaker — free wifi!
