McDonald’s

Avoid this place it’s just one big trip off with terrible service. If you want decent food at a decent price try Indian Street Food just 30mtrs up the road on the same side.

What’s with all those bad reviews?
After all, a McDonalds is a McDonalds is a McDonalds, right? I admit that they can be on the slow side, but aren’t all fast food places like that in Zurich? I remember waiting 20 minutes at Burger King for my order once. What I really don’t like about this location is that when you get your order it’s always a little like playing the lottery and, just like the lottery, mostly you lose since they will forget to put something in your bag, guaranteed.
BUT! That’s why I like that they have the self-​order option now! They can no longer screw it up since you just walk up to one of the machines, stick in your credit card, chose whatever your fast-​food cravings dictate you to order and it prints out your receipt along with a number. The number then conveniently show up on a large screen over the pick-​up counter.
Since they have implemented this new system our order was always spot on. Also, as of recently, they always prepare your items as you order them — this way they have always been fresh.

McDonalds. Kein Gourmet Burger, ist doch klar. Wenn ich einen Kia kaufe, erwarte ich auch keinen Stern auf der Motorhaube!
Aber wenn man schnelle Kalorien braucht, die dennoch gut schmecken, ist man bei McDo nicht falsch. Eigentlich braucht man gar nicht darüber schreiben, jeder kennts.
Der Langstrassen-​Mac wurde umgebaut und hat das neue grün-​braun-​beige Interieur die neue Macs anscheinend kriegen, alles im Namen der Nachhaltigkeit und des Wohlfühl-​Images das der Konzern projezieren möchte.
Hier sah ich aber etwas zum ersten Mal. Es gibt nämlich hier keine der Rutschbahnen mehr mit denen die Burger von der Produktion hinten nach vorne gegeben werden und dann manchmal eine gefühlte Ewigkeit rumliegen.
Sondern die Produktion liegt hinten, die Burger werden bei Bestellung ‘frisch’ zusammengestellt und mit einem Förderband nach vorne geliefert. Das heisst man kriegt keine Burger mehr, bei denen der Käse in der Falte des Papiers erkaltet ist. Andererseits kann man keine heissen frische Burger mehr bestellen (indem man die Tomaten weglässt ;), weil die Patties nicht frisch gegrillt werden, sondern aus der holding-​Schublade kommen.
Mal sehen wie sich das neue Konzept bewährt!

After we placed our orders for two McFlurries and paid, the South Asian woman behind the pickup counter asked us to move back 3 meters from the pickup counter. I thought it was a bit odd as there were only 3 people waiting for their orders including us. As she was filling our order, the woman dropped one of the McFlurry on the ground (spoon and all), then proceeded to quickly pick them all up and put them in the take away bag. I walked up 3 meters to the counter, said that I saw her drop one of the McFlurry and that I would like a new one. She insisted that NOTHING touched the ground as the cup fell down sideways. I can see a little pile of toppings on the ground behind the counter where it fell from where I stood. I INSISTED on getting a new one and she very reluctantly complied after I repeated my request 3 times.
I’ve been here a few times before and didn’t have good experiences, but the location is convenient so I put up with it. The service standards are so low at this McDonald’s that they’ve now hit rock bottom and started to dig…

One could argue that a McDonald’s should not be reviewed on Unilocal,the site where people look for advice for fine wining and dining. But even you gourmands might be hang-​over or just out of time one day and then a burger at McDonald’s will hit the spot. If you go to the one on Langstrasse, it should be purely based on location (Langstrasse), because everything else is pretty lousy at this place: They are slow (which is pretty much of a killer for a fast good place!) and unmotivated. Their restaurant tends to be dirty. And the food is mediocre, even compared to McDonald’s standards. McFlurries have the consistency of pudding (on a good day) or a drink (on a bad day).

It is the only Mc Donald’s in my neighborhood.
Unfortunately the quality is not always the same. Prepared hamburgers have been lying to long, the Mc Flurry’s are too liquid and the staff is not really friendly.
And sometimes you have to wait 10 min for a menu even when you are the only costumer.
The good thing: they have a coffee corner !

Kein McDonalds zu weiterempfehlen, WC ist zwar auch für Rollstuhlfahrer, aber unsauber, auch die Fugen am Boden könnten erneuert werden.
Das Essen, naja, habe schon besser bei MCDonald’s gegessen und das Personal kann es kaum erwarten Feierabend zu haben, sehr unmotiviert und unfreundlich.
