Durch den Besitzerwechsel hat sich die Lage etwas geändert. Die sonst so leckeren und großen Cordonbleu sind leider nicht mehr so überzeugend. Wir schauen und nach einem anderen gemütlichen Lokal um

Local restaurant with every last tuesday of the month live music!
This place is really cool. It is down to earth, local and still authentic. Every last tuesday of the month you can go there and enjoy local live music of small upcoming bands.
Sometimes a bit crazy but funny. They take away the tables and put then a small stage where a band perfom the whole night.
They do a limited bar (only beer and soda’s). I suppose they do it because otherwise it is to complicated. But to be honest, that is more then enough :)
I love this place and you can find me every last tuesday of month there :)

This describes the experience on the evenings, when they have FYRABIG-​MUSIG, which is every last Tuesday of the month. I should actually not rave about it, because I don’t want anybody else to go there. I would like to keep this place as much of a secret as possible, because it is so great! Very relaxed, alternative, laid-​back. I guess it is a group of young people who operate the restaurant on these nights. They have a very limited bar service (one beer, served in a plastic cup), but it fits the ambiance and the live music. Last time a band of hipsters played some rock music — tunes were good, singer was really bad, and I did not mind that I didn’t understand a single word of what they mumbled on stage. One hour of music, that’s it. Great vibes.

Man könnte meinen, das Mühletal sei eine ganz normale Quartierbeiz. Doch jeden Samstag und manchmal Freitags verwandelt es sich überraschenderweise in ein Konzertlokal. Auf der Bühne des Hartholz knallen die verschiedensten Stilrichtungen aufeinander. Und, kaum zu glauben: Der Eintritt kostet nix. Im Hartholz passen ungefähr 100 Leute ins Lokal und eine Band auf die Bühne.Stillos von bumm-​bumm, schrümm-​schrümmbis yoyo-​motherfuck… Gault Millau-​Punkte wird die Küche nicht erreichen, aber die Portionen sind so gross, dass jeder satt wird, das Cordon-​Bleu Spitze und die Atmosphäre pommes-​frittig schräg. Solche Orte sind ein Nebeneinander von Ungleichem — zusammengehalten durch den Beobachter.

Direkt neben der neuen Markthalle liegt eine Institution des Industriequartiers. Das Mühletal ist eine Quartierbeiz mit entsprechendem Charme, entsprechendem Publikum und entsprechender Speisekarte. Gastgeber Christoph ist ganz klar «eine vo euis» und das Cordon Bleue wird von so manchem Stadtbewohner auf den Üetliberg gelobt.
Und wenn der Samstagabend kommt, dann wandelt sich das Restaurant zum Konzertclub und heisst plötzlich Hartholz! Und dann wird hier getanzt, geschrummelt und gerockt. Zumeist jedenfalls. Manchmal werden auch leisere Töné angeschlagen.
Wer wissen will, wie das dann so aussieht für die etwa 200 Konzertbesucher im Mühletal kann sich den Clip zu «See Me» der Band Nazareth (ja, die mit dem Hit «Love Hurts») auf Youtube angucken. Der wurde vor etwa drei Jahren nämlich im Mühletal abgedreht.
