Angelato

Very nice ice cream. I would go back again. For limon and family got coffee, dark chocolate and mint chocolate. One street over from major shopping.

Been here every afternoon on our trip to Prague. The ice cream is much richer, and better tasting, than most. Will miss this place, short walk from the central square.

Best gelato ever! I would recommend getting creamier flavors like pistachio, salted caramel, tiramisu, etc. instead of more fruity flavors. The fruity flavors great as well, but they taste like a smoothie to me. Or better yet, get the best of both worlds and do fruity + creamy flavors with a 2 scoop cone!
Also, the visual presentation is amazing. I love the color and consistency. This place is GOLD. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Prague.

So my favorite flavor is officially BACIO — I didn’t know what that translated to, but as soon as that velvet hit my tongue, I knew. Chocolate Hazelnut. Get there early, its one of the first flavors to run out.
I went here everyday and on my last day I hit that baby up twice.
Here are the flavors in my favorite order: BACIO or jasmine rice, pistachio, stracciatella, rhubarb, coconut, chocolate.

The line was super fast, although we were out the door we didn’t wait for long. They had a good selection of flavours. I tired the pistachio and it was amazing! You can taste the nut with the right balance of sweetness. My friend had the jasmine rice and also enjoyed it very much. The cone was fresh and crispy — not like other stale ones. Every small shop with minimal seating inside. Definitely worth a visit after a long walk in old town.

Stop reading this and just give it a try! One of the best gelato I’ve had while in Europe. Personally I found the ones in Rome too sweet and this was just right. Angelato allows you to taste flavours before ordering. Highly recommend.

Very good ice cream shop. The line out the door went quickly as there were 4 people serving at the counter. Good and interesting selection of flavors.

Oh Angelato, my creamy love, you remain an utter star. As I previously stated — there is no need for long descriptions here — this place is simply excellent and needs to be tried. Fantastic creamy gelatos or fruit sorbets, generous portions and kind staff always willing to let you sample the flavours before you pick. What prompted me to do this little update is a story that happened about a week ago. I ordered two scoops and as the man behind the counter was handing them to me, to my great embarrassment I found out that I both my wallet and card were sitting on my counter at home, while I was left standing here, utterly cashless and bright red. That’s when the lovely owner came to the rescue and just handed me the ice cream and telling me to just take it easy and come back to pay tomorrow.
Now, this is a hella popular place. They don’t have to do things like this to win favours of their customers. Considering how popular with short term visitors and tourists the route around Angelato is, they couldn’t have known whether I would come back or not. Anyhow, somehow the kindness and faith in humanity in this lovely gesture really did it for me — I didn’t know I had capacity to like it even more, but I do now :).
So go give them a try — whether it be for one of the traditional favours, or one of the more experimental flavours, which recently included jasmine rice, avocado, or olive oil and basil.

Great gelato but probably not worth the long line outside? Worth it on a nice day, not wroth waiting in line on a cold day.

I spent last summer in Prague, and it was about 80 – 90 degrees daily. I lived around the corner from Angelato, and I frequented it far too often than I should have. But it is just SO GOOD. I couldn’t help myself. The staff are all friendly, and there’s even a little area to sit right outside and enjoy the sunshine while you eat your gelato.

Angelato, you are wonderful!!! I had just climbed Petřín Hill AND Petřín Tower (amazing views, BTW), so I was in desperate need of something refreshing. I spotted this strategically placed café with gelato. With allergies to dairy and eggs, I obviously chose to have sorbet. I loved the flavors– usually all café’s have for sorbet are boring, bland flavors, like strawberry. But Angelato had orange and hibiscus, pomegranate and more. I chose to have a cup of the orange and hibiscus and lemon. It was SOOOOO delicious, especially after climbing so much. I was like, in heaven. It was a spiritual nourishment to me. I couldn’t resist having another.
The only down side of this is that now that climbing kind of goes to waste. Boo hoo. :)

Angelato is so evil, and delicious, and evil, and so so so delicious. I would say that I love them, but really I hate to love them because they always wind up tempting me out of my plan to not eat sugar. Really I would be better off if they didn’t exist in Prague at all, because the ice cream is just irresistible.

Best gelato I have ever tasted, hands down. The flavours are very fresh tasting, and every flavour that I tried was delicious. My particular favourites were… I can’t think of the real names for them, but the hazelnut and cheesecake. YUM.
There’s always a long line up here but it moves fairly quickly. Seating is limited. Prices are a little higher than other places, though the quality definitely make it worth the few extra dollars.

Unilocal just asked me: «You’ve checked in here 4 times! What keeps you coming back?»
It’s all about the ice cream. Pretty much the only annoyance with this place is the fact that the quality this place has to offer is hardly a secret. However, the queue is always worth it since it’s moving pretty quickly and you’ll get your fix eventually.
Oh and one more thing:
Pistachio!

The gelato was just ok here. I tried the pistachio here as well as a scoop of the mango sorbet. Especially when I compare it with other places in the area. For example, there is a gelato stand right in front of the angels bar which had some of the best gelato I have tried. It was so rich and creamy. The pistachio there was unreal. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a name or Unilocal account. Be warned there are other stands nearby and there gelato is mediocre at best.
Angelato isn’t bad, it’s just middle of the road type of gelato and sorbets. If your in the neighborhood there is seating inside and outside. The flavors are written in Czech, however the servers understand English and can help with explaining what a particular flavor is. 38 CZK for a single scoop and 70 CZK for 2 scoops. A cone costs 10 CZK.

Great gelato but this location is hot and cramped. Outdoor seating is minimal. Try the other location near Kampa Island for the better spot with the same yummy gelato and unique flavors.
We had 2 flavors together: dark chocolate and coconut. The dark chocolate was VERY dark but delicious, and the coconut is made with tiny pieces of coconut and real coconut milk. The combination played very very well together and I would definitely get it again!

Excellent gelato. They even have gluten free cones!!! There’s a bit of outdoor seating. My boyfriend got coconut, which was really nice and had pieces of coconut in it. Mango and strawberry were on point.

Gelato is solid here. Especially the mango. You won’t be disappointed. It was flavorful but not overly sweet. The texture was perfect.

Das Angelato ist eine nette kleine Eisdiele mit freundlichem Service in einer Seitenstraße der Prager City. Es gibt leckere Eissorten zwischen den man sich kaum entscheiden kann ich habe zum Beispiel Mango und Kokos probiert. Klassiker wie Schokolade und Vanille waren auch sehr lecker.
Das Café hat keine eigene Gästetoilette auf Nachfrage konnte ich aber die Toilette im Café Café auf der anderen Straßenseite nutzen (fand ich völlig in Ordnung).
Das Angelato war stets gut besucht und hat auch vier Außentische.
