This is a little gem of a Bistro. The service was very congenial and all the dishes were marvelous: the onion soup had a depth of flavor that tells you without a doubt this didn’t come from a onion dip mix. The dinner salad was a mix of very fresh greens very lightly dressed, although the dressing had a bit more horseradish than I would have liked. My main course, the entrecôte, could have come out of a Paris kitchen. The bernaise sauce was buttery, laced with fresh armomatic tarragon that filled the air with its oh-so appetizing aroma. The frites, as another review has noted, are very tasty. However, I am inclined to think that the extra flavor dimension comes from animal fat(I certainly can’t claim to know for sure). We’re so used to fries cooked in vegetable oil, we’ve forgotten how good they can be.(Some might remember how good McDonalds fries used to be back in the 1970’s until they bowed to social pressures and switched to vegetable oil). I find it a treat here in Europe where from time to time I run across a kitchen that hasn’t compromised its cooking and prepares frites the good old fashion way.

Great little Parisian restaurant on the quieter side of the river with indoor and back patio seating. Especially nice spot for a date night although families would feel welcome here, too. I did the Secret Special Recipe’d beef dish and found it to be fine. With all the hype on the menu I was kind of expecting something slightly more powerful but it was delicious all the same. NOTE: This place does NOT accept credit cards. We came here because we were out of local currency and Unilocal indicated that credit cards were accepted. Needless to say, I had to go on a long hike after dinner to find an ATM. Fortunately, they were kind enough to not make my girlfriend wash dishes while I was trying to find cash.

If it wasn’t for the service, this review would be 2 stars. I’m puzzled at the high marks for this place firstly, because the food is just ok. I almost always have visits to restaurants that coincide with reviews on Unilocal, this was not one of them. Regarding the food, there wasn’t much of a selection. Beef with fries and then goat cheese ravioli. There were a few other main course options, but not many. I choose the beef and despite requesting for«medium» cooked meat upon being asked, my meat was quite rare. While I didn’t complain for fear of being thought the I’m the grumpy American tourist, I ate about ¾ of the meat with«special sauce»…which was good, but certainly nothing special. The bread and salad was tasty, but again nothing special. Lastly, the restaurant doesn’t take credit or debit cards. Thankfully I was recently equipped with the local currency, but had I come 12 hrs previously, I wouldn’t have been. Its just a head scratcher considering the location of the restaurant. All that said, the service was very good… not 5 stars good, but certainly a 4. In all, I’d only recommend this place if you’re really in need of some french-ish cuisine and atmosphere.

This is definitely one of the best places to go have a dinner with friends. Thanks to homy and really friendly atmosphere, their awesome meals that can be shared and the attentive staff, this place is going to make any occasion special. I can highly recommend it for brunches, friends gathering as well as chilled romantic dinners.

A tucked away cute Parisian restaurant with a tiny menu. The food is executed well although possibly not well enough for the pricing. A great place for a lady’s brunch or date night! I went with a group of 4 others and 3 kids, so they are capable with children. While we were there, two women also walked in with their kids(5 and younger). None of the waiters looked upset and they were all very pleasant. The waitstaff is friendly and more formal, so I imagine at night you would want to dress nicely. During the day, casual is acceptable. The outdoor patio, while very small, is adorable. There are a few more tables inside, but overall, I imagine no more than 40 – 45 could dine at once. So make a reservation! The menu consists of about 2 starters, 1 soup, 1 salad, and 3 entrees. It’s very small but all seemed well executed! We ordered the French Onion Soup — and then ordered it again because it was delicious! The house salad had a very spicy but delicious dressing and felt super fresh. The foie gras dish was so smooth with a great jam pairing. There was a seasonal pea soup offered that was beautifully presented(it looked like art). The portion did seem a bit small, especially given the price, however it was delicious. Everyone else at the table ordered the steak which is Café de Paris’ specialty. In fact it is the dish the restaurant was built around! They serve it almost family style, except the waiters dish it out and take it away to keep it warm while you finish your first serving(you can have seconds). At first this confused me — I thought they took the remainder of my steak away for another table! But they brought it back as well as more fries. In the end, the serving size was perfect. If I had a larger appetite(of a man who works out or has a high metabolism) I may have still been hungry though. The steak sauce was VERY herby. Almost too many herbs for my taste and not enough… other components to make it well rounded. It was still absolutely delicious, but after hearing how amazing it was all afternoon, it didn’t live up to that. The total bill was quite high for what we ordered — although I can’t compare it to other Prague restaurants, as I’m not that familiar with them, I was surprised. I would definitely recommend this as a stop for lunch if you’re near the Prague Castle, or as a special date night!

This is the restaurant where you will feel like at home, or even better, more romantic and more celebratory. So small, so predictable, but nevertheless — I keep coming and coming for various occasions. For private dinners, for business lunches, for reunions, for farewell parties. I am always very pleased with everything: with the atmosphere, service, food and wine … If you are coming in the summer time, try the terrace setup. It is nice, the courtyard has its beautiful patina, you will feel that the time would fly by so slowly! For the terrace food, go with the cold cucumber soup, with a delicious salmon, and combine it either with Prosecco, or with a very strong ginger lemonade, bottled in U.K. For a cold romantic evening, dine inside. Start with a fantastic Onion Soup or Tuna Tartar, and continue with their impressive signature dish, the Entrecôte Café de Paris, with a secret and super-delicious herb sauce and home-made fries, and a very fresh green salad(meat-fries-salad, all together at 299 Kc). Pair it with a Languedoc-Roussillon Prestige Rose bottle of wine(899 Kc). I bet you would like to prolong such a wonderful experience, so no worries, have a sweet ending The selection of desserts would be my tip. Hmm, can’t wait to come next!!!
