Seriously THEWORST service on the planet. Waiter was extremely rude and tried to pick a fight with our group. He was very condescending and purposely took his time to get to us. We got there at 1030 and apparently the kitchen closes at 11. Conveniently, he decided to «take our order» at 11. Yeah it took him that long to even pay any attention to us. As we were trying to leave he stopped one of the guys and tried to start something.

Was here on a Friday night at a partner dance event and it was an awesome experience. The event organizers had rented most of the main level and I highly recommend it as a special events venue. They ran a simple bar that gave good service, the dance floor was decent, and there was space for musicians to set up and play. All in all, the place did not seem crowded, and when you decided it was a bit too warm from the dancing, you could just step out onto the terrace, and gaze on the river and Charles Bridge for a nice break. Haven’t tried the food but given that even Czech locals wrinkle their noses and give me a questioning look when I ask Czech locals about where to eat authentic Czech food, the dining experience is probably like other Czech restaurants in touristy areas and I defer to other Unilocalers on this. The bathrooms were sufficient for the event, and were okay.

We had beers and dinner here before reading the reviews. Enjoyed the whole experience because the view is amazing. Hope previous Unilocalers caused the management to make some changes for the better. Thanks Unilocalers. Please keep up the good work and help create better service for all of us.

Touristencafe. Service ist ok aber nicht mehr. Preise ok. Ein unnötiger Laden um ehrlich zu sein. Essen war für einen Touriladen ok aber ich empfehle lieber sein Geld woanders zu lassen

It might be sentimentality on my part, but this was one of my most favorite restaurants in Praha. It was the first place we stopped after leaving our hotel that first day, and we chose it based on menu items alone. I see now that Unilocalers aren’t so in love with this place, but we had no issues. The front patio was packed by the time we got there — it was a beautiful day, sunny and breezy, and people were taking full advantage of the sun, the cool wind and the view. So, we were told about an even larger patio around the back, which we found after walking through two different dining rooms. The back patio was mostly empty, and had a spectacular view of the Charles Bridge and was right on the Vltava River. We chose a table that faced the bridge, with a bit of shade(I didn’t want my husband to burn), and that was a few tables away from the large group of very drunk guys. Our waiter was friendly, though it took him a while to get to us. He did apologize for the delay, though, citing the large group of guys as a reason. We honestly didn’t care — we were on vacation, and thoroughly enjoying people-watching and soaking up some of the sun. We asked the waiter to recommend a good Czech beer, which he did, and which we eagerly took him up on. We then placed our order, choosing dishes off the«traditional Czech» pages — the goulash for him and roast pork with dumplings for me — before settling back in to soak in the surroundings. The beer came out first, and it was surprisingly good. Not that I didn’t trust the waiter but… no, I didn’t really trust the waiter. But the beer was very good, and helped us while we were waiting for the food. Our dishes came out a lot sooner than I thought it would, since the group of guys had ordered before us. The food was delicious. Granted, I don’t have much to compare it to — or, I don’t have *anything* to compare it to, having never had Czech food before, but I do know that we both enjoyed our meals immensely. The meat on my plate was flavorful and very tender. The bread dumplings soaked up the sauce that came with the meat, and the sauerkraut added a nice bite to offset the fattiness of the meat. My husband loved his goulash– he still says it was the best version he had the entire trip — and I can say that it was very tasty. I might have snagged a few forkfuls when he wasn’t looking. Despite the fact the waiter was busy with the larger group, we never felt neglected. He stopped to check on us a few times, and offer a refill on the beers(we had to decline, as we were headed to join a beer tour). I appreciate the friendliness of the people we encountered here. It helped ease whatever small fears we may have had. We didn’t get a chance to go back, much to my husband’s dismay. He kept pushing to go back for lunch, but I really wanted to experience as much of Praha as we could, and that didn’t include eating at the same restaurant over and over again. I think we would have been better served having gone back once or twice, so that’s my fault. We would like to return some day.

1 star for location for pictures of the Charles Bridge and the castle. Horrendous service. Our waiter moving so fast does not listen to our order. When I asked hum about it, he was argumentative. Just come here for pictures and not the food!

Magnifique! Et donc à voir!

I was in Prague in July 2012. I went here a lot. The drinks are expensive according to Czech Republic standards. But sitting outside on a summer night with a nice blanket and a brew with people from all over the world and a view of the Charles River and Bridge is pretty priceless. The wait staff and bartenders are kind of useless unless you know Czech. My friends and I actually had an emergency and they were of no help, but we got through it okay. Overall, I think it’s worth seeing at night and enjoying if you have the chance.

The food here is really bad. The scenery is great, the service is okay so having drinks here by the Charles bridge were great experiences(yes we came back quite a number of times). Unfortunately, I really recommend against eating here. We first started getting appetizers, some prague sausage, fries, nachos, and smelly cheese. Okay so the smelly cheese was an awful experience and that’s our manager’s fault for wanting to try it, but the sausages were plane and the nachos were lies. They were salty chips with some ketchup on the side, definitely not your idea of «nacho» Anyway, come here for a drink, pay the expensive prices and take some pictures of the prague castle at night. Just don’t eat here.

Yes, it’s expensive at 70CK a beer, but it’s also perfectly located with stunning views of Charles Bridge and the Vltava. The service is reasonable given the foot traffic, and there are cosy red IKEA blankets if your knees get cold. Had to knock a star off for the loos though — really dire.
