Any girls’ trip would not be complete without a fancy Michelin meal. We decided to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of one of our own by filling our bellies full of contemporary Czech cuisine. For a large group, the restaurant offers a prix fixe meal with appetizer, main dish, and dessert. You have three to choose from in each category, and it’s definitely NOT vegetarian friendly. I shared all the plates with my sisters, and got a good sample of everything. There were dishes that utterly eclipsed the other ones. Overall it was good(with a couple misses) and surprisingly affordable. Let’s start with what was done really well. The veal tartare was creamy and utterly scrumptious! Tartare seems to be a staple here in Prague, and this is one of the best examples. Another veal dish — the veal filet mignon schnitzel, was so tender that you can hardly believe it was breaded and fried. The lobster agnolotti was also spectacular — al dente and fresh. As for dessert, I preferred the cheeses. Some of the other plates were a bit on the«looking better than it tasted» side. The duck confit, while looking good on paper, failed to wow anyone. The desserts looked amazing but tasted only ok. All in all, this was a fantastic meal. There are certainly some highlights(veal all the way!!), and some low points(service remained slow and indifferent, a la the rest of the country). If you wanted something contemporary with a hint of the past, look no further than Mlynec.

Buenos platos. Buenos postres

Summer Degustation menu: 4 courses– Salad of Grilled Peach; Butter Seared Sea Bass; Guinea Fowl Supreme and Deconstructed Apple Strudel — - amazingly delicious and cooked to perfection. Also had the Veal Fillet Mignon a la Schnitzel, again absolutely scrumptious! The deconstructed apple strudel was a great take on a healthier strudel yet maintaining absolute flavor —- hats off to the pastry chef for thinking of that. I would strong recommend treating the family here for dinner when you visit Prague, CZ.

ONEOFTHEBESTRESTAURANTSHANDSDOWN. Michelin restaurant for about 4 years now and hands down one of the best restaurants in terms of their ingredients pairing, freshness, and taste. To start, they served a complimentary Gazpacho foam with strawberries and olive dust along with olive seasoned bread sticks. I ordered the Carpaccio with avocado cream caviar, and scallops on top of sweet watermelon with sliced cucumbers. This is one of the most REFRESHING dishes ever. The chewier texture of the scallop blended perfectly with the structure and slight hardness of the watermelon and both the clean taste of the scallops and the juicy watermelon created a refreshing combo that was perfect for Prague’s 95 degree weather. For the main, ordered the traditional Czech duck leg with potato dumpling paired with pickled red lettuce with red cabbage foam. This dish is to DIE for. The duck leg is covered and has a slightly crispy fried duck skin and the duck meat beside literally melts in your mouth, juicy and satisfying. The potato dumpling is extremely filling and actually tastes like Asian rice cake. My favorite favorite FAVORITE part was the red cabbage foam which was SOO well blended, foamy but still lightly substantial, and slightly delicious. Ugh it was foam heaven. For dessert, they served a complimentary mojito foam dessert a little like lemon meringue and tried their«after 8» Chocolate cake with mint ice cream with mint jelly and cocoa bits. Really really rich and gooey chocolate dish perfect for all chocolate enthusiasts that will be then subdued by the mint ice cream — brilliant. Also got complimentary tiny chocolate macaroons. Seriously, the prices are worth the quality, experience, and taste of the food. You MUST come if you want to taste Prague and you cannot miss out on how this restaurant makes their creative foams

Stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring beautiful Prague, saw the menu, and immediately set up a reservation for the next day with no trouble at all. The interior is beautifully decorated and has a an authentic Czech style reminiscent of the city’s historic architecture. I ordered the peach salad as a starter and the sea bass as my main course. Peach salad was tasty and refreshing. However, the buttered sea bass was quite the disappointment and in my opinion not the best selection. Had a taste of my friend’s duck and it was absolutely delicious, so would opt for that instead. The sea bass lacked in flavor and did not have the pizazz factor especially in an expensive restaurant like this one – unfortunately something I thought I could easily make at home(sorry!). Nonetheless, the ambiance was great and service was perfect. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or even local to Prague.

The food was spectacular and the service as well. The décor and design of the restaurant could be more desginer and edgy to match or represent the type of food being served. Highly recommend this restaurant. It has a beautiful view of the river and all the«passersbies.» We stayed out dancing and music today on their large balcony and people were waving at us from the Carlos V bridge.

Ansonsten fehlt euch was auf eurer kulinarischen Karte

Amazing restaurant. We splurged and got the tasting menu. Everything was delicious. The veal schnitzel was different than the Vienna schnitzel but I loved it much more as they don’t pound it paper thin and they serve it medium. The décor was elegant. We’ve been to a few upscale restaurants in the U.S. And this one is right up there in our top 5. We would definitely come back here if ever in Prague.

We both really enjoyed our dinner here. We made reservations kind of late in the game, but they were able to get us a table for the night that we had originally requested. We showed up a bit early, and were asked to wait at the bar. We ordered a couple of drinks(martini for him, mojito for me) and waited a bit for our table to be ready. The hostess stopped by our bar table a few times to apologize for the delay, and to keep us appraised. I guess they were serving a party of 50(!), so it was taking a bit longer for our table to be prepped than they had expected. Not that it mattered to us — we had nowhere else in the world to be. The hostess then came back to let us know that the table was ready, and showed us to a small table sandwiched in between two large parties. Not ideal, as it was very loud, but it was better than the first table we were offered. We had taken a look at their menu online the day before, and while I was excited about the food, the thing that appealed to me the most was the soft drink pairing that they offered with their«Most Popular» tasting menu. A soft drink pairing! Normally I’d go wine pairing, but I’d never seen anything like that before, and was intrigued enough to give it a try. Because, of course, we both decided to go with the«Most Popular» tasting menu(though, the hubs did go old school and pair his with wine.) The first thing brought out to us was an amuse bouche, which was a celery foam and bacon shot. It was interesting — a bit soupy, a bit celery-y, a bit bacon-y. I enjoyed it. Course 1 was the Smoked Veal Tartar, which was my favorite by far. It was smoky, with a fresh, clean flavor to the meat. The smoke didn’t overpower the meat, and the truffle mayonnaise that was served with it really brought all the different flavors together. The soft drink pairing for course 1 was a beetroot, violet syrup and lemon concoction. I love me some beets, I do. But this was overpoweringly beet-y. The earthiness of the beets made it almost undrinkable. I did my level best, but it was difficult to finish. Certainly not my favorite. I can’t imagine what people who hate beets would think of it. Course 2 was a Carpaccio of Scallops, served with apple, avocado purée and fennel. This was nice and refreshing — the scallops were sliced thin, and the apple added a tart bite to the dish that actually paired really well. The soft drink pairing for this course was an apple, rhubarb, elderberry drink, and it was much more palatable. Where the first drink was thick and strong, this drink was light and easy to drink. It did pair with the scallop dish rather well, too. Course 3 was my second favorite dish of the night — a seared sea bass served with a vanilla potato purée, capers, olives, and a baked lemon juice. It’s hard for me to hate any fish dish, so it’s not surprising that I enjoyed this. The fish was buttery and flaky, and the potatoes underneath added a nice bit of depth to the flakiness of the fish. The soft drink pairing was by far my favorite — made of jasmine, vanilla and lemon. This was also very light and easy to drink, and the vanilla in the drink brought out the vanilla in the potatoes. Course 4 was a filet mignon a la Schnitzel, which, while it was perfectly cooked, was a bit odd. I know this is one of their signature dishes, but it’s just odd to bread and fry a beautiful piece of meat like that. Still, it was tasty, and it was served with a medley of vegetables. The drink with this dish was a carrot, raspberry and honey one. This was definitely savory, and had both of us in the mind of a tomato-based soup. It wasn’t terrible, but it was a little much by that point. The 5th and final course was dessert — a chocolate lava cake with mint ice cream and mint crumble. This was served with a cherry, chocolate and orange drink, which I found discordant. The mint was delicious, but was overpowered by the cherry in the soft drink pairing. It’s odd that that was their choice for this one. The cake itself was divine — all ooey and gooey and perfectly paired with the mint ice cream. Plus, they put a huge sparkler on my plate to celebrate our anniversary. PS — all the wines that they served my husband were local blends, and he loved them all. We enjoyed our evening immensely. Every person we came in contact with — from the hostess to the bartender to the team of waitstaff — was friendly and helpful and informative. And while I did enjoy the idea of the soft drink pairing, I wouldn’t do it again. Not that I didn’t enjoy the creations, but it’s just SOMUCH liquid. The serving sizes are twice as big as a wine pour, and they just kept coming! Still, highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion — the food is delicious and the service is top notch. Plus, the views are brilliant — they’re right on the river and have views of the Charles Bridge from the plate glass windows.

It was our last night in Prague, so we did some research and saw this place was highly recommended. What a treat it was to have the best service and food of our entire vacation. Rodrigo was our waiter, he and the rest of the staff were so attentive and caring with their service. Everything we had was a masterpiece. The view of the Charles Bridge is stunning from their covered, smoke free terrace. Awesome night!!!

**Please note that I visited Mlynec for a private event, so this review may or may not include elements/dishes that Mlynec might usually have.** My husband’s MBA program had a closing dinner here for the students and their partners. Mlynec’s location is perfect, as it’s at the base of the Charles Bridge. Before dinner, you can snap some great shots at the bridge, and then after dinner, you can visit the(in?)famous 5 story dance club next door. ;) Since this was a private event, the setup was a little different– round tables instead of square. Not sure if there are normally tables outside on their patio, but this time it was cleared out so we could enjoy cocktails outside with the view of the bridge. For starters, we had salad with fennel and caramalised grapefruit dressing, which was very refreshing. We had preordered our mains weeks beforehand, and the choices were chicken, pork, or the vegetarian dish. I had the baked chicken with a red wine sauce, butternut squash purée, and beet root chip. The chicken was perfectly done, and I really liked the purée and beet root chip. My only complaints are that the service for food was very slow. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re not used to hosting large, private events. At least they were very good in refilling water and wine. Additionally, they may or may not have air conditioning; with about 150 people in attendance, at times certain parts of the restaurant felt really hot so we had to move to the patio or elsewhere for some air. Overall, this was a nice venue for a private event, and I wouldn’t mind coming back again.

Staff is friendly and fast, something you would never expect from a place few meters away from Charles bridge. The space looks big and luxurious. The food is tasty and unlimited wine is just tempting. Sunday brunch — highly recommend!
