The asparagus salad and octopus were good. Also the beet risotto with salmon was good but too creamy. Couldn’t taste the risotto as it was soaked in sauce. Also for an Italian restaurant the choices of pastas were very limited. Only go there if you want some good meat or fish. The waiter was rude and made us feel uncomfortable. Dessert was not good(tiramisu). I’d skip dessert.

A lovely meal in Prague. We ordered everything from the specials list and were very pleased with our choices. Asparagus was featured prominently(springtime); we had a salad with it, rocket, nuts and blackberries and then a lemon pasta, again with asparagus, and clams. For the entrée, we had salt-baked sea bass for 2(very moist) and spinach/fried zucchini as sides. Skipped dessert as we were quite sated. Service was informative and attentive. We asked for wine pairings instead of a bottle and staff was happy to make suggestions, offer tastes, etc. The décor is basic(exposed brick, wood floors) and tables are well spaced. Next door is the store(wine, cheese, table wares, dessert), but they also serve over there if the dining room is full. The table adjacent to ours brought their pug puppy to dinner and the resourceful waiter even managed to procure a dog water dish. Luckily, little Pugsly was too small to leap across the table when the uncooked steak choices were exhibited. The owners fed the dog during the entire meal, thus setting the stage for a future filled with bad canine habits. My guess is they will also be ill-suited to parenthood. Still, it made for some interesting dinner theater.

This place was highly recommended and came with a group of friends. Food and wine selection was favorable but no cocktails. Reservation is highly recommended due to its popularity. The staff was very friendly and helpful in deciding what to eat.

The first time I booked a table at La Finestra and it was a great evening. Best service I experienced in town so far combined with an excellent kitchen. We had an outstanding wine which had been recommend by their wine expert. The atmosphere is quite comfortable and we enjoyed our time there. It’s going be one of my favorite places in Prague for Italian food.

We had an amazing meal here my first night in Prague. The restaurant is elegant and rustic, and the food and service are incredible. This was the best sommelier I’ve ever met anywhere. We loved his recommendation of an alpine Nebbiolo with my husband’s Argentinian ribeye with arugula and tomatoes and my monkfish with saffron potatoes, clams, morels and artichoke. For starters, my husband had house spaghettini with shaved truffle, and I had a soup with a poached egg and a slice of pancetta; I forget what they call it here, but it was like white borscht I’ve had. Fantastic meal and overall experience, and I’d recommend it for dates and special occasions, as it is romantic and warm feeling.

This was our second favorite restaurant in Prague(Divinis was #1). Went for lunch(couldn’t get a reservation for dinner on short notice). The service was excellent, as was the food. We shared an appetizer of brioche with warm foie gras, topped with sashimi tuna, and sweet apple purée, orange zest and grappa sauce. Entrees were. Duck(might be the best I’ve ever had) with pumpkin gnocchi(light, fluffy pillows of deliciousness), and winter vegetables, garnished with almond and juniper berry sauce. Pappardelle with ragout of Iberian pork cheeks, porcini mushrooms, borlotti beans, and artichokes. Beautiful presentation of food. Very good and extensive wine selection. Beautiful décor: very inviting, great place to settle in for a long lunch.

Potentially my favorite restaurant in Prague. If this was in LA, NY or any other major city it would be on your list of favorites. Quality is great, they will make anything you want, but their fish and meats are definitely what they are known for. Strongly advise sharing.

Thanks to Unilocal,my friends and I went to try this place and was not disappointed. One of the best pasta dishes I had outsides of Italy. The salted sea bass was good too and so was the dessert. Put it down on your list if you visit Prague.

Thanks for an excellent meal! We dined here with a group of 7 and everyone enjoyed it. We relied on the sommelier’s advice for wine and were very happy with the result. Great food and great service — highly recommend !!

Slightly upper class Italian ristorante with a small but great menu and some fantastic wines. Astonishing service, especially the vinologue who suggested a nice Chianti wine which suited our dinner quite well. We were treated with a nice aperitive and amuse of the house. The ambiance of this restaurant is very relaxed.. Price Quality is great, especially from a West-European point of view. Happy to go again there some time.

Came here for a lunch, we both got the set lunch menu. The green pea soup was well balanced in flavors and it’s exactly what I needed after binge eating meat after the first two meals at Prague. I got the pasta for main dish, it lacked flavors but cooked perfectly. My dessert, some homemade cake, was delicious. I cannot get enough of it and pretty much licked the plate. If you are in Prague for a visit and want to take a break from Goulash or roast pork, come here.

Dining Date May 21, 2015 for dinner. The menu isn’t that great, but the specials are abundant. There were as many if not more choices of specials as there are items on the regular menu. The aged T-bone steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. All the food from the appetizers to the desserts were great. Service was slow but steady. The wait staff did a fine job with our table of 12. They were happy to describe each dish to us in detail. Excellent wine selection, but limited to just a few beer choices.

The food is really good. No outdoor seating for the summer from what I saw. But otherwise great food and I really liked the service. Tried it during the day, would love to try it during the night time. Do try their specials because they are pretty creative and the creativity does pay off with delicious dishes.

Uma das melhores pastas que eu já comi. O espagueti com trufas é sensacional. It was one of the five best pasta that I ever have. Go there!

I highly recommend this wonderful Italian restaurant. The service was wonderful and the food amazing. The fish and meat were so fresh they bring it to your table to help you choose. They started us with a complimentary amuse bouche of tuna so delicious we wanted a whole plate of it. The attention to detail shows their high standards. The breads and salad and palate cleanser all lead up to a perfect meal. The only thing that we found odd, coming from the US was that there is a smoking area in the restaurant. I thought the days of eating while inhaling smoke was over. Still it was a wonderful meal!

Went to this restaurant on very high recommendations and was very disappointed. If you’re looking for some solid Italian food in Praha don’t go here. It’s overpriced and not good. We had a dish that was supposed to be a Bruschetta but it was just a pile of cheese with two toast points and some sweetbreads and nectarines on the plate — not a Bruschetta at all! The toast was not even grilled nor toasted. The main entrees left much to be desired. My husband had the octopus which was mealy and not tasty at all — and he loves octopus and always orders it when it’s on the menu. I had a pasta dish that was decent, but certainly not worth the price. We wanted to have dessert but our waiter took entirely way too long throughout the entire service and we had already spent two hours at the restaurant so we decided against it. Overall, it was a mediocre meal at best. Sorry, but the restaurant did not live up to its reviews at all.

La Finestra provided a much-welcome break from the frenzy of the town square during our visit to Prague. We’d had dumplings and sampled some of the local fare, and I was hesitant to have Italian food for fear of missing a real taste of Prague, but this is not the Italian you’ll get in the homeland or, say, Little Italy! I started with a potato truffle soup with beef tartare, which came topped with fresh truffle shavings. This was a special that day and worth the stop in and of itself. From there I went with the pappardelle with chicken ragout, chicken livers and veal sweetbread. On the plate I couldn’t really tell which was which, but it worked together to create an amazing dish. Paired with a glass of wine, it was the perfect upscale lunch that we were thrilled to be able to enjoy. The ambiance here is classy(I feel like it’s a go-to for business lunches), and we were attended to by a very friendly and courteous staff who easily chatted with us as we closed out the bill — where we were from, how long we were staying, where the next stop was. After spending the day trying vainly to eek out the few Czech words we’d learned, and with little acknowledgement or reciprocation, it was a relief to be able to communicate easily with the staff. We couldn’t have been happier with this meal and very much enjoyed Prague because of it.

Definitely one of the top three best Italian restaurants in Prague. There is nothing you can complain about when it comes to this place. The interior is typical Italian style — not very posy but well thought, cosy and authentic. The meals are delicious and you can see that they have been prepared by a chef who knows what he is doing. You will always get deliciously looking meal that is presented with care and prepared with the passion typical for Italians. With La Finestra you can never go wrong. You can come here with kids and you can be assured that they will not be bored, you can come here for important business meetings as well as for romantic dinners or evenings out with friends. This is one of the few places in Prague that is just perfect for any occasion.

Excellent! Now this is not a place you’ll see tourists or kids but here we were after visiting the Jewish Quarter — twelve of us including kids age 3 – 13. They gave us full coloring books and great coloring pencils, amuse bouche even for the kids, and made some special meals for the kids(which the kids loved — fettuccini with milk-fed chicken I believe). The adults enjoyed the scallop caponata, awesome green pea and porcini soups, excellent risotto with octopus and chanterelles, and incredible salt-crusted sea bass. The restaurant is very handsome down to the details in the bathroom and the waiters stations. The servers were gracious and spoke English perfectly. The host was very stylish. I felt very relaxed. A fantastic establishment. Would definitely like to go again while I’m in Prague.
