Perhaps like us, you were drawn in by the photos on the website– the adorable staff photo where they’re posing Milford Plaza style? Some notes on my 5-day stay: A bit out of the center city, it’s a quick 3−5min walk to the subway, near the cool space station looking television tower.(that building next to it with the huge clock is a church, btw! we had to look it up.) Floor three has no elevator access so you have to go to 4, then drag bags down a staircase. Specifically request not floor three. The sheets are ok but my bed was like sleeping on a plank of wood. I tossed and turned all night for five nights but my friend liked the hard mattress. Curtains do not block out sunlight, so good morning at 6am whether you’re feeling it or not. The street facing rooms are not noisy from people thankfully, since it’s a quiet area, but you hear cars passing as loud as if you’re laying on the curb. Ask for a rear facing room. WiFi was included, but certain days it worked better than others. It was as if some routers needed a reset and only sometimes got it. Breakfast is pretty standard, with a bunch of cereal, pastry and protein options. When they remember to be there, the staff will bring you coffee/tea or an omelet but sometimes you have to hunt them down. The customer service is the typical czech style aka they give 0 fucks in general and if it’s not easy for them to help you, too bad for you. You’re on your own. Even when they work at the front desk. Bathroom was nice and well maintained and the AC worked fine. Although useless, I liked that there was a night desk guy on all the time. He would literally just shrug in reply to any question, but it was still good to have someone watching the door. With the exchange rate, this was one of the nicer places we stayed for not too much cash on our Middle Europe journey. But that doesn’t say much. It has potential, but improving service and those random annoying factors could really improve this hotel.
