Walking from Kafka Museum to eat at the Savoy, we saw this place and stopped in for a quick drink and a mini bite, as it was a wine bar/beer place our guide had recommended. Love the artwork on the walls and it’s cool quirky decorations plus being located in the water, it was super cool inside. The wifi password was on the menu and so appreciated being able to check into Unilocal! Our service was quick and prompt and while small menu with mostly snacks on offer(hummus, quiche, cheese plate, sausage, etc), the main attraction here does seem to be drinks with an extensive menu. We got home-made lemonade and an iced coffee along with the pork starter. My lemonade was pretty good with a all sorts of citrus beautifully combined but there were pips, one of which I swallowed and the. Had a coughing fit — so while great tasting, having to be cautious while drinking sorta took away from it. The cold-coffee was truly excellent, in fact my dining companion wanted to order a second one, before wiser heads prevailed. The pork starter was filling without being cloggy, so all in all good place to stop for a bite.

Now if I ended up in here, it’s because I followed a mate in. It was his Stag Night/Weekend. He’d told me this was one of his favorite bars — and I think I understand why. I’m new to Prague, you see? It’s a cute little place, made from and old water mill: some of the machinery, if disconnected, is still in place. It adds charm to the whole cosy-warm-light-bar thing they have going. They also have wifi so that the tourists can check in on Unilocal and get them that social buzz going(they have free-access wifi all over Prague. Kudos). They have a very reasonable range of drinks, and serve food to boot — and the staff are quite spontaneous in offering to take another order(if they can come off as a little standoffish). It’s a fabulous place to spend a warm spring afternoon after a stroll. The couples, kiddies and students making up the patronage will testify to that.

A small and pretty bohemian place with a short food menu and nice choice of drinks. They serve an excellent fair trade coffee and delicious traditional honey cake. The prices are low, and the service is surprisingly great for a local inexpensive Czech café. The interior looks rather careless and casual, but quite interesting exactly because of its negligence. They also have changing exhibitions of modern art.
