i was pretty nervous about being able to hear the nightclub from our room but we could not hear a thing! It was a really cool hotel /bar. The atmosphere was really good and the food was yum as well. We had a private room and the beds were single and tiny and not the comfiest, but it was do able. The bathroom looked good but not that practical with the shower, theres no door on it and the water just goes all over the place. The staff here let it down for me greatly. We came down for happy hour and asked for the beers which were on special they then served us about 3 times after that the same beers then when we went to pay for our tab they had not given us the ones on happy hour, when we showed that we were upset by this they pretty much laughed in our face. Its not a huge deal but you don’t need to be rude when we did not make the mistake!

Great hostel. Super modern! I loved the beds, the bathrooms(wow), and the drinks and restaurant were delicious. I do wish they would let all guests go to the roof or at least offer an hour or two out of the day for not just the hotel guests but the hostel guests as well. Yes, this place is also a hotel on the upper levels. Highly recommended.

Great hotel! Lots of young travelers, very hip. We knew it was the right spot when our cab driver dropped us off saying, «so you’re going to the crazy place?» It’s not that bad. They have a bar downstairs and we saw some people making out in the hallways, but what do you expect? It’s a hostel. Pro tip — spring for the penthouse. The view is amazing. They have a buffet breakfast in the am for 7 euro but we opted for the little café around the corner, Liberica, so good. Anyway, the mosaic has a cool walking tour everyday at 10:30 am. Our tour guide opened the tour explaining that he forgot his name tag because he didn’t stay at his house last night. Yeah he was totally hung over :) cool info about the city and it was a great way to meet other travelers. Highly recommend this place and the free tour!

Cool place. You can see that there is an idea and passion to do things right. It´s a hotel + hostel + restaurant + night club and it´s very friendly to the natural enviroment. Rooms are nice, modern, clean and some of them with really great views. Also depends in which building you stay. Service is excellent. Restuarnt is another great experience. Local cuisine is based on modern czech cuisine. They have both vegetarian and normal meals. There are a lot of programs and events in a night club. They play different styles of music, but mainly dance music and they have the karaōke evening every wednesday.

Even for a hotel this place would be rated 5 stars! This is the nicest hostel I have ever been to and one of the best, too. There is a bar downstairs where you can mingle and hang out with people from all over the world. They also have a DJ some nights and karaōke :) Not only is this place awesome, Prague is too!

Spent only one night here so I can’t really say much. But what I can say for sure is that the folks at the front desk were friendly and efficient even though they had a pretty long queue of weary backpackers to handle. Got my room key card within seconds, and headed up to my room. The first thing you’ll notice once you’re in the door is that the room’s pretty narrow(and it has three bunk beds in there) but it wasn’t cramped by any means. The beds were incredibly comfy, which helped me get a restful night’s sleep before a long flight. The loo was surprisingly clean, too. The only downside was the internet, but only if you were trying to Skype or FaceTime. On the whole, it was pretty good. It’s also well located, and I’d probably stay here again sometime, given a choice.

Great hostel! Clean and perfect located in Prague. We had a double room with our own bathroom. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can join a tip tour through prague. And there is a bar inside, it was good frequented! Nice atmosphere! We will definitely stay at mosaic house our next time in Prague!

Fantastic hostel. More like a hotel, really. Beautiful bathrooms with large rainfall showers, clean comfy beds, and a stylish décor. Despite the often crowded club on the first floor the rooms are quite. We were upgraded to a smaller roomer for no charge upon check in. Tons of locker and cubby space in the rooms, in addition to rentable lockers on the first floor. No towels though, although they’re available for purchase at the desk. 15ish minute walk to city center, cool young crowd. Would definitely stay here again.

Damn, this town is cool. And if you need a cool, inexpensive and ROCKING place to make your headquarters in the heart of Prague, the best place to do so is Mosaic House. Let’s be clear: this isn’t a 4-start luxury hotel. If you’re not into blasting music, a banging bar and backpackers rolling in at all times of day or night… this might not be the spot for you. But, if you’re young – or feel young inside – the Mosaic House offers a ton to be happy about. First off, the place was recently renovated(as in two weeks ago) and looks amazing. The rooms on 7 floors are split between standard private hotel rooms and hostel-style bunk rooms on each floor, making it a sort of hybrid hotel-hostel. You can tell the renovations were done with an artistic touch – from the art deco designs to the funky-odd artwork(sculptures hanging from umbrellas? The Buddha giving you the peace sign?). A nice touch is the music club slash bar on the ground floor, which gives residents and backpackers a place to kick back, listen to some tunes, have a beer and plan the next day’s outing. The breakfast bar that was included with the price of a private room was surprising above average – with a selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit and even some kooky warm plates(carrot soup for breakfast? mmm). And all this for one incredibly affordable price for a location right in the heart of the Nova Mesto. From here, almost every part of the city is reachable by foot. Plus there’s bus, tram and subway lines just steps from the door. A true mosaic of affordability, comfort and excitement. Check it.

good place for a short stay in prague. the staff is very friendly. food is okay, though better restaurants are close by. what you should know: there is a shabby disco called«belushi’s» downstairs, which seems like a hot spot for male backpackers on the hunt for youknowwhat. music is loud and cheap…

Bottom line — I would definitely recommend this hostel. My advice is to book ahead and be willing to pay for what you want. My friend and I stayed here in mid-July, and I booked our first night in Prague less than 48 hours ahead of time. We ended up having to pay about $ 40(US Dollars) for a 4-person(2 bunk beds) room. This was actually our best night(of 4 nights) in Prague hostels. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The air conditioning and darkness made for great sleeping. The top bunks were a little high and challenging to get down from, but it wasn’t the end of the world sleeping up there. Luckily, the other two in our room(one male, one female) were friendly, quiet, and clean. Also, even though there was a lot of partying going on downstairs, we were on the fourth floor in the back of the building, so there were no noise issues during the night from anyone/anywhere else(see below). We had originally decided to just book our first night in Prague and then figure out if we liked the hostel before booking the rest of the week. Unfortunately, the hostel was already full for the next two nights when we got there, so we had to move across the street to Prague Centre Apartments & Hostel, which turned out to be fine, and convenient for moving back and forth; see my review about that hostel. Unfortunately, they were all booked up for our fourth night in Prague, so we decided to come back to the Mosaic House, and we wanted the cheapest room available, which ended up being a 14-person co-ed room called«Your Room.» The experience in this room was less comfortable than our first room. When we walked into the room in the early evening, there was a small group hanging out in there, and one girl was sitting on my bed, messing up the bedding. The room itself was fairly messy, with people’s belongings all over the place, but it wasn’t disgusting, nor was the bathroom(2 toilets, 2 showers). It seemed like we had a crowd of people in their young 20’s, and we got back to the room after dinner, a small group was pre-gaming before joining the hostel’s pub crawl. They didn’t leave until midnight, and then they came back after 2am, one at a time, each coming in(not quietly), turning on the lights, for about 2 – 3 hours. Needless to say, it was not the best night’s sleep. Also, we could hear noise from the bar area in the lobby until after midnight. General comments about this hostel: All in all, I would stay there again, but I probably would not stay in one of their larger rooms. I would also try to stay on the 3rd floor or above. They have WiFi, available for free, but it doesn’t work great; other guests speculated that it is because so many people are using it. Overall, the hostel seems clean and safe, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Tips: Bring your own towel(they will make you buy one — there are none to rent) and a good lock for the boxes under the beds. If you want to feel safer, you can rent a locker in the lobby area.
