I would highly recommend starting with the 200g of tartar, pre-mixed. Just rub the garlic cloves on the the bread pre-spread, AMAZING. I had the rumpsteak, which was pretty good. My friend had a delicious steak in gravy with dumplings, and I helped myself too(it was so good I couldn’t resist). Everything is at an excellent price point, 5 meals, tartar, 1 starter, and a round of beers(pint sized) came out to $ 70USD. I was very happy with the beer selection here. Lots of great options, from Flying Dog to Chimay; a great selection, and very generous draft pours.

An ideal place for beer lovers with both lagers and ale on tap. Does not serve mainstream brands, therefor you can really enjoy beers from smaller breweries from all over Czech republic. During our visit we didn’t order any food so I can only speak for drinks and more specifically about beer.

Ideal place for beer fans. They have usually around 10 – 15 draft beers with different amount of alcohol and usually none of them belongs among common brands. They are mostly from micro breweries. Plus they have a wide scale of bottled beers. The place is well situated in a centrum of Prague close to I.P.Pavlova. I like the decoration with pictures from famous czech movies. Even the name of the restaurant comes from one great Czech comedy. Restaurant(including the garden) is non-smoking so if you are a smoker you have to go out on the street. Service is pretty good and so are the meals. I strongly recommend steak tartare(don´t order if you don´t like a raw meat). You can choose if to mix it by yourself or let a cooks do it for you. But definitely pick to do it by yourself. Otherwise the offer of meals is wide so I guess that you will always find something what to order. So enjoy :-)

Top class Czech pub. Can be busy, can be quiet. I like that there are little rooms that you can go for a quiet and private chat with friends. The beer is 5 Star. try the Gypsy Porter if they have it.

I love having a summer drink in the open air, and I can imagine that this half covered small beer garden would be cozy if you got all bundled up to brave the cooler months for a pint of excellent Czech beer. The servers were a busy but charming group of men who were a bit hesitant with English, but game to give it a go. We tried a darker(but not heavy) Czech beer, which was really good. Flavorful, but not too bitter, with just a hint of sweetness. We got there just as the kitchen was closing(at 10pm — an hour before the bar closes) but they rushed in our order. My companion took the recommended beef cheek in a red wine sauce served with bread dumplings — surprisingly with bits of bacon in them, and I had the stuffed mushrooms which we were told were roasted, but were actually fried. I love roasted veggies, but if I must try them lightly fried whilst on vacation and at a Bohemian beer hall then– so be it! Both were solid and tasty. Again, I could imagine recreating the experience in the cold and not being miserable. A great find!
