Bar-​restaurant with a pretty large menu. Expect traditional Czech food. There are a few vegetarian alternatives.
Biggest turn-​off — they allow smoking in the restaurant. It is 2016 — I thought this was banned by now.
Staff friendly, and the service was fast. No need to book a table on a Saturday evening.

This is very good restaurant with traditional food. We had potato soup, that was served in bread and goulash soup. Both soups were really good. Also we had ribs. Portions are quite big. Ribs for example we shared. Very friendly staff.
Next time in Prague I will definitely visit this place.

Had the schnitzel potatoes and a Christmas Amber. It was very good but upon further review a bit over priced by Czech standards, but decent by American standards. Overall this isn’t a bad place to have one meal, but you can tell quickly it has a target audience. Tourists.

Wanted a good dinner and got it. They did a mix of the dark beer with the Pilsner and that tasted good. My husband ordered the ½ of a duck, which must have been the back half, since he had 2 legs! Thought that was different. It was served with white and red cabbage, potatoes and Czech dumplings. I had the wild boar ragout with bacon/​potato dumplings. Service was consistent. Place was packed.

This was the first Czech restaurant I went to in Prague and it was at this bar that I learned you should always order Czech food at a Czech bar. I started off with the beef goulash soup, which was really good and tasted freshly made with a sprinkling of herbs on top and served with a pretzel. I ordered hot wings which were not spicy at all and came with stale tortilla chips and this weird sweet salsa. My husband ordered a beef skewer which was cooked rare and was flavorless.
The service was typical Prague bar service – prompt, unsmiling, never above and beyond, but they still expect a tip from tourists. When I asked for the bill, our waiter asked if we were paying by card or cash. We said cash. The person in charge of the bill comes over, and presents us the bill and says «Everything good eh? Service was okay, eh?» «Yes,» we replied. «This bill does not include tip,» the bill guy says. «We recommend 10%.» And he stands there awaiting our cash. Wow. I know rounding up your bill is common in Europe for tip, but a tip is never expected, especially straight up 10%. Our meal with two drinks was 703 kc (which included a 21% tax) and I left the rest of 800 kc, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. This was my first Prague bar experience and I hadn’t looked up tipping etiquette in Prague prior to the trip assuming that Prague was just like the rest of Europe, but I wish I didn’t leave that much tip. Also, I went to other really great restaurants/​bar where service was a lot better and whose service really did deserve a better tip.
Other info: Supposedly there is a non-​smoking area, but it was full the night we were there on a Saturday night in mid-​October. We were surrounded by smokers in the area we were in. Seems like a mix of tourists and locals. They offer a menu translated in English.

The worst service I ever experienced in my whole life. To make a long story short, after many other things at some point the waiters made fun of us because we were asking for very regular things like plates or cleaning the table. We paid and left the food over the table, something that I never did before in my life. Don’t go!

Good food and location. However, the wait staff needs a little «happiness» training… not a smile among them. I think if you’re local you’d probably fair better. All in all worth the trip.

The food here is excellent. We had no issue with the service that others have noted. The waiters were polite and efficient. This is essentially a pub so if you want high touch service, go to a fancy restaurant. But, you will be missing out on delicious traditional Czech food. We also noticed that they get a good crowd of both Czech patrons and tourists. Highly recommend the goulash, svechova (beef in cream sauce with dumplings) and the roasted pork knuckle. Bring your appetite! Also, if smoke is an issue for you, their downstairs is smoke free.

Came here in the evening after a recommendation from a local. Walked in and found a nice upscale pub type of feel. Everyone in our group had a different plate and beer to match. Together we had main plates, and two –½ liters of beer for $ 25 U. S…food was outstanding and found out this place was Michelin rated. Really good choice if you’re in the area for service, price, and taste!

Strong Czech food. I had the sampler which consisted of duck, sausage, ham and other Czech specialties. I can’t imagine it is the best in Prague but a nice intro and very convenient.

Great restaurant located near the city center. This place had great service and good food. The beer was really fresh. You have to try the goat cheese appetizer.

The restrooms here impressed me. They were very clean and updated. Always appreciative of that.
They have a few beers on tap and plenty of ciders to choose from. The staff treated us well and would definitely go back.

We’ve been going back and forth between a 3 or a 4. I finally decided on a 4 even though it is a bit over priced for some rather basic fare. Our waiter was extremely friendly and looked after us once we were able to get his attention. When we put in our orders or asked for anything, they were quick to respond.
We were eating simple tonight so it was soups and salads. The goulash soup was very good. There was lots of little chucks of beef and potatoes and the broth was very tasty. The potato and wild mushroom soup in the bread bowl was also full of flavour. The bread bowl was outstanding on several levels. First off the bread was extremely fresh and tasty, but best of all was the hockey goalie figure baked in for the world hockey championships.
The salads were not as good as the soup but still okay. The Greek salad had a nice mix of fresh crisp veggies with generous chunks of goat cheese. The new cucumber marinated salad was tasty although it has so much liquid it was like a mini-​soup. Very tasty though.
Overall a nice meal. A bit over-​priced but such is the price you often pay when close to the main square. We likely would not go back as it is a bit too much of a tourist trap; however the food is good.

Great Czech restaurant located near the Josefov neighborhood. Roast duck was delicious however the red and white cabbage was a bit strong tasting. The Pilsen goulash was equally fantastic. The beer was terrific as well. Service was very friendly and they spoke very good English. Prices are mid range, nothing crazy but even if you wrack up a hefty bill, you won’t mind.

Even so the food was ok, the service ruined it.
As I asked IF we could pay up separetely, the waiter yeld (!!) at me and gave away a long lesson-​speech on how it was wrong of me to ask for that.
A «No» would have been enough.
I DO NOT recommended this place… unless you want to get out of it on your nerves.

La cuisine y est très chère pour pas grand chose, l’attente est très longue et né parlons pas du service: des serveurs hautains, le service est exécrable. Sachant qu’il existe pleins d’autres restaurants dans le coin, passez votre chemin. À éviter.
The food is really expensive for what it was and we waited a long time but the waiters were the worse: those are probably the worst you will find in Prague… To sum up, you’ll find great restaurants in the area for less and with better people so don’t go there, it’s as simple as that.

Good Czech food including goulash and roast pork. Nice that they had a kid’s menu for my 5 year old daughter. Prices are good but being from the US all prices seem low. Service was good and the lower level was no smoking which was a plus. Nice and clean, good place for family meal.

I’ve been here both times I went to Prague. Very large restaurant, many waiters, and usually not so crowded each time I have been. Service is good, food is good but very heavy. This is typical Czech food for it to be heavy, so nothing out of the ordinary.

The roast duck was greasy. A whole duck was served. That’s a lot of duck! I got tired of it quick. I suppose I am not the biggest duck fan. I enjoy their red and white cabbage and potato dumplings.
They are a Michelin rated restaurant. Most of their customers are families and large groups that I always see, probably tourists.

Ein typisches tschechisches Restaurant gehobener Klasse etwas abseits der Volksmengen. Kleine Enttäuschung da der Nichtraucherbereich in der unteren Ebene untergebracht ist, was tagsüber bei gutem Wetter stört, abends aber sehr gemütlich ist. Personal flott und freundlich, könnte aber von sich aus etwas mehr über die Angebote informieren. So haben wir dann die interessanten Tagesangebote erst nach der Bestellung auf einer kleinen Karte gefunden. Leider nur in tschechisch. Qualität ok, aber für Gourmets nicht überragend. Für Prag sicherlich eine gute Adresse.

The food was very tasty, the staff was well trained and everything was clean.
Furthermore it has a million certificates of excellence etc.
But to me it appeared a little bit too corporate and too touristy. I know I am a tourist and I know that it is stupid to complain (as a tourist that there are so many tourists). But it just felt to me as if I was in the wrong age group to go there. The food was deliscious but it wasn’t the place that I wanted to stay for another beer or so.
So if you are a family on a trip to Prague and if you need a place to eat where grandparents, parents and children can fit in, then this is a good place.
If you want a more lively place for a younger client group then this is not the place.
That said I don’t want to be negative. As I said it was excellent food and good service.

Touristisches Lokal etwas abseits des ganzen Trubels. Es gibt die Möglichkeit drinnen oder draußen zu sitzen. Geht man die Treppen zu den Toiletten nach unten findet man noch weitere Räumlichkeiten.
Das Essen war okay aber nicht herausragend. Der Salat wurde ohne Brot gereicht, und es wurde auch nicht gefragt, ob welches gewünscht ist. Der Burger war trocken und musste selbst noch mit Saucen verfeinert werden. Bei den kleinen Portionen an Ketchup, Mayonnaise und eine Art Barbecue Sauce die dazu gereicht wurden, blieb kaum noch was für die Wedges übrig (die gut schmeckten). Die Portion des Reises (habe leider den Namen des Gerichts vergessen) war doch schon sehr minimal.
Der Service war miserabel, wir mussten selbst mehrfach aufstehen um Bestellungen aufzugeben, da sich um die Kundschaft nicht gekümmert wurde. Als es dann auch kein Trinkgeld gab wurde man noch unfreundlicher — ein absolutes no go. Das Personal sollte hier vielleicht mal noch hinsichtlich Kundenbetreuung geschult werden.
Wir hatten das Lokal gewählt, weil wir draußen sitzen wollten, nochmal würde ich dort nicht mehr essen gehen!

Big portions, nice atmosphere. I had the pork here and of course some beer with it. The service was good and fast. Worth stopping at, they have inside and outside seats.
