Our hotel recommended this as one of the places to visit. We had to reserve a spot & pre-order as it takes 2hours to prepare the traditional dishes. We ordered chicken & beef. They have traditional seating on the floor but comfortable. Service is pretty fast. They start you off with some pickled salad & chillies and cabbage. Then they bring out your pre ordered dishes. The food tasted very good. We ordered lentil soup in addition to other dishes. Overall one in a lifetime experience. Recommend stopping by if you come to capadocia.

Very tasty Turkish food. Its where my wife and I tried our first clay pot(they break the top in front of you) Also, it is the first time I sat at a table where you sit on cushions on the floor(they have traditional tables as well). Overall it was a very nice restaurant and I enjoyed the food. Depending on the season, reservations are recommended(the night we went it was rainy and slow — so it was not an issue). Also, they do not take credit card.

Excellent food, atmosphere, service. We are here twice! Great wine and attention to details. The owner served us. Be sure to order Clay Pot beef in advance as it is the real deal and takes 3 – 4 hours to cook. The seating is Ottoman Style. This place is a wonderful memory in Gërome!

Delicious and home made for sure! The owners were so kind– he even took us on a tour of his wine cellar. The atmosphere is wonderful, so homey. A great lunch spot.

The service is poor to terrible(the balding waiter was dismissive and rude the other server was great) and as of August 2014 they DONOTTAKECREDITCARDS. This normally wouldn’t be an issue but they were really rude about how they explained why they didn’t take cards. I think the food was great and the ambiance was lovely. But super annoying that they don’t take credit card. If service and cash are not issues for you then go here.

Our first night in Goreme was at Dibek from a recommendation from our host Numan at Saksagan Hotel. It was a great recommendation. We rolled in at about 5pm, early for dinner, but we were starving and ready to eat. We were greeted by the energetic Mehmet and quickly seated at a table on the ground and asked to remove our shoes. From here the entertaining experience of eating at Dibek started. We ordered some starters and the clay pot(vegetarian and meat). The cute clay pots arrive with a black top that is bread dough after 20 mins. A hammer is used to crack the pot open. Guests can get involved with this themselves with guidance from Mehmet. The food is delicious, it’s home made and excellent quality. The service is light, friendly, warm and funny. This place attracts people from all walks of life. It is in the family home which is a series of rooms in a cave. This places oozes character, every where you look there is something that has a story. Mehmet happily tells you anything that you ask about. This is not just eating, it’s a full experience that is outstanding and intimate. Mehmet’s knowledge wines is brilliant. This is well worth making a reservation or trying your luck to get a table when most people don’t eat. Enjoy!

This is a 3 – 4 star proposition. On the plus side are the pottery(think claypot) mains: nearly everyone around us ordered them. We had the beef version, as we had been told it was the most authentic. Very good, and an ample portion. The«house made» red wine was also good. The lentil soup, a no brainer for most Turkish kitchens, was dull, perhaps due to a lot of potatoes and not many lentils. A collection of spices were available, possibly to help add interest to the meal, but none were explained or encouraged. Total cost was reasonable by local standards(100TL or about $ 45 including taxes and tip). Service was perfunctory: no one explained what we were eating or what we might choose as alternatives. None the friendly conversation we’re used to, especially here in Turkey. We chose to have dessert back at our hotel.

Like many of the restaurants in Goreme, they specialize in pottery kebab /clay pot cooking. Unlike a lot of the other restaurants, Dibek seems to specialize in the dish and offer it up with some higher quality preparation and slightly higher prices. You need to make a reservation here as they are busy and they say they cook your pre-ordered pottery dish for 2+ hours before you arrive. Of the several places I tried pottery kebab at, this was my favorite.
