Northstar Restaurant

I ate here a couple years ago and the food was greasy and bland. I thought I’d give it another try this am. And was pleasently surprised. Breakfast the way it should be. And good service I give it 4 stars and am pleased to recommend it.

Below par breakfast. 8 bucks for fake scrambled eggs, microwaveable bacon, toast & homefries is not a deal. Took over 30 minutes to come out. We were 1 of 5 tables in the place. I fear for their future

Never been impressed with the food received here. It is ok for a breakfast when there is not a lot of other choices, but i find the other meals mediocre and high priced for what you receive.

Was trying to find a local spot and came across this restaurant. First impression that it gave me when I walked inside is that mom and pop place. Friendly service. I ordered there broiled haddock. It was pretty good! Impressed with the taste! They even had some live music playing guitarist. Made me feel like I was out in the countryside. Lol. It was a new experience. Felt relaxing !

I’m only giving them one start because I had to. We waited 30 minutes for breakfast that consisted of biscuits and gravy and eggs and toast. We left without getting our food.

I loved this place! We took a trip to the thousand islands and didn’t plan a thing (best way to travel, if you ask me). After wandering around early in the morning and in the off season, we tried to find a place for breakfast. Called a few places. uh-​oh no wheres open! Happened to drive by this place and saw a big, friendly open sign (hooray!!).
I got a special egg breakfast combo and it was all really delicious, even the toast! Great hash browns and coffee, too. It’s a big diner located right outside the sign for Alexandria Bay. Very cute area, don’t know why more people don’t go in the fall it was really beautiful there!
Service was also very good, had a very friendly waiter and food was served quickly. Prices were reasonable and it’s open at odd hours, so great place for breakfast even in the off-​season!

Well since I live in the suburbs of nj… I get kind of wary when I go to the country. I was visiting the thousand islands and let me tell you this place is very rural. The restaurant was one of 4 that was open early in the morning in that area.
When we walked in we were greeted warmly by a young man who told us to sit anywhere. The menu was all American breakfast food. The young man was also our waiter and he took our orders quickly and the food came quickly as well.
It was quite even though there were many patrons there and everyone knew each other. The food you can tell was actually cooked and not microwave. Blueberry pancakes were soft and not a perfect circle which is what I look for, for authenticity.
This is not an ihop so don’t expect it to be… it’s got a small town feel and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend this place to others.
