The brie and heirloom tomato appetizer was amazing! The NY strip grass-fed beef was much better than I expected — I typically gravitate toward filet — but I’d recommend ordering a degree less than your preference as mine was just slightly over. The scallops were legit, however, and the best I’ve had this trip! Staff was very friendly and the garden very nice. Overall — a lovely experience — if you’re looking for a more upscale meal than most other places around.

«The Meh» We have a similar experience to the other reviewer. The Kitchen came highly recommended. Decent restaurants are scarce in this neck of the woods, so when one gets talked about, you want to check it out. FOOD: We generally enjoyed the the flavors in the food, though with the tiny portions, we left hungry, with much thinner wallets. Certainly not worth the price. I mean, when you have a seafood pasta as a main, and serve it in a tiny bowl, how do you expect people to leave happy? And to echo another reviewers comment, what’s the point of promoting a cornucopia of included delicacies«U-10 shrimp, scallops, etc» when you’re just going to chop them up into little pieces and bury them in the pasta? Those items should stand out, and they didn’t. ATMOSPHERE: Within an established B&B, the downstairs was very charming and elegant in a French/Italian motif. We sat inside, which apparently was a mistake. SERVICE: Well, this was the biggest failing. From the humorless rules-centric hostess(owner?) to the mostly absent waitress, we were made to feel like an inconvenience, not paying dinner guests. To be fair, they’ve just started the dinner service. However, running a restaurant requires a completely different approach then running a B&B, which seems to be lost on them. TIPS: Scarcity of comparable local options does not equate to automatic positive raves and reviews. Yes, they use seasonal local ingredients. So what? Does that make them a winner just because every other restaurant in the area serves fried food? Nope. Go somewhere else until they wise-up.

Where to start? We made reservations on a Sunday night for a party of nine. We arrived on time and had to wait five minutes before anyone even showed up to greet us. It turned out to be the owner who was quite curt, and it became apparent that there was no table ready for us. After approximately 10 minutes we were finally seated. We waited at least another five minutes before we even saw the waitress. There was absolutely nothing on the table whatsoever– no centerpiece, no silverware, no napkins, no salt-and-pepper, no water, no bread plates — it was bare! The waitress finally came back and gave us menus, and in another 5 minutes water. It was another 10 minutes before she came back to take our order– both drink and food. We then waited approximately a half hour for our food to arrive — it was over an hour from the time we walked into the restaurant. Food — was ok, but extremely overpriced for the tiny portions. A number of us ordered the seafood pasta. The menu said it included U10 scallops and halibut. There was perhaps one scallop cut into tiny pieces and approximately three smaller than bite-sized pieces of halibut in the entire dish. Again the dish was a very very small portion. There was no bread served and none of the entrées offered came with a salad. We left hungry and the bill with no alcohol and one appetizer was $ 33 per person — It was not busy and we were the only patrons inside. This was a very disappointing experience.

Great, great spot to taste what the 1000 Islands has to offer. An amazing rotating menu with all the best locally sourced ingredients. The chef is very creative and delivers some great plates by NYC standards. The cured lox salmon toast and special Miso Maple glazed Scallops were delicious!

Gourmet food has arrived in Alexandria Bay! Prepare yourself for sensory taste treat when you come to this restaurant! We started out with homemade watermelon drink and… Oh my gosh, so good! And then moved on to the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had in my life! The beef brisket with rosemary flavored au jus was just amazing. And the grilled River Rat cheese with kimchi just melted in your mouth and tickled your tongue with bursts of flavor. Finishing off the meal with homemade avocado-flavored ice cream! Couple this great food with attentive, quick, friendly service in a delightful patio atmosphere and you have the recipe for a meal you will remember for a long time
