Came here because it was getting difficult to breathe with what I thought was an upper respiratory infection. When they finally got around to seeing me, I got a few minutes with a nurse(not a doctor, a nurse) who basically told me to walk it off and gave me a prescription for a nasal spray and cough drops(which did not end up being effective). Fast forward a month and I get an unexpected bill in the mail. Surprise, surprise, they asked for more than my insurance company was willing to pay and I get stuck with the difference. I then attempt to pay online(no option to pay by phone) and despite putting in the information exactly as instructed, they refuse to allow me to access the bill to pay it. Can you imagine anything more aggravating than not being able to pay a bill for a service that was performed poorly, when none of this should have been an issue in the first place? MedStar, you get 1 star, and that’s only because 0 isn’t an option. Substandard care at inflated prices with poorly-designed administrative infrastructure. If this is the future of American healthcare, we’re all doomed. Overall: 0.0 stars — — — — – Pros: — Parking is readily available. Cons: — You’ll get billed a ton… — … despite the fact that they will likely do nothing for you. — When you try to pay that bill, you won’t be able to. — When you’d rather still be sick than have dealt with the health provider, it should tell you all you need to know about the business.

I had recently swapped my insurance and needed to find a new general practicioner. I’m not often sick, but it is always good to get your physical and have the vitals scoped out. The Medstar Medical Group was a convienient choice for me. Scheduling an appointment was an easy task, called, explained what I wanted, and the receptionist was able to easily set up the appointment for me. I saw Dr. Kuznia who was efficient, prompt, and clear in answering my questions, and asking her own. Everything *I* need out of a doctor. Since I hadn’t had a physical in a few years, she asked if I wanted to run blood work, which I was fine with. The bloodwork was all done in house, which was a short 2 – 3 minute wait for me. When my results came back, they called, as well as posted information online. I had no complaints about the place.

I would suggest finding a different practice. On December 24th as I was headed out of town I was left a message I needed to come back in to the office by the fill in doctor for mine, who is on vacation. That wasn’t an option. After not being able to reach each other and the office not finding a way to set leave a designated time to call. I was left a message to go to urgent care and have my blood redrawn wherever I was and had the tests redone. Of course, as a lay person, what tests did I need to have redone? As soon as I landed in LA I contacted a doctor I’ve worked with in Beverly Hills and received a authorization to release the records for them to read. This office never addressed this and left another message that said don’t bother calling back and have them redo everything. Well this was one leg on a three leg trip and there was no time to have everything redone and why. this had already been done and paid for. Crazy incompetence. What’s sad is the doctor I saw was actually pretty good but her fill in was useless and acted as if she was putting herself out covering her partner. The fill in was Dr. Hinnant… good luck those who have to deal with that woman. I’ll post the crazy message she left to youtube so you can all hear the incompetence and be safe.

Hi, I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lee Hinnant for like 6 months now. She is so knowledgable, professional, caring, patient & explains every detail thoroughly. The office is clean, staff are also professional, organized & friendly. I’m very happy to have Dr. Hinnant as my PCP& highly recommend her.

I was a patient of Dr. Annie Thomas before she moved here and I am glad she did. This Medstar is in a great location, the Bradlee Shopping Center in Alexandria, VA. The receptionists are attentive and friendly on the phone and in person. I haven’t been kept waiting long and I like the fact that I can get my blood work drawn here rather than going to a lab. Dr. Thomas herself is a very thorough doctor. She is quite interested in you as a patient and a person. I would highly recommend.
