Chen took very good care of us. The sushi shimmered and was cut beautifully. The rice was perfect. The gyoza dumplings were crispy in the bottom and steamed on the top. Delish… The miso was Luke warm so they could boost up the temp and the organic salad was very good but needed a little more crunchy lettuce. We really enjoyed our lunch. I think this is my new favorite sushi bar in the area. Give them a try. I’m back a few weeks later and tried the new dinner bento box for $ 18.95. Check this out Miso soup Seaweed or cucumber salad 2pcs shrimp tempura 2pcs veggie tempura 6 piece salmon or tuna roll(nori on the outside… authentic) 6 pieces sashimi 4 pieces negiri What a value. Sushi was the perfect temperature and sliced by a true sushi chef. This is a perfect mom and pop operation. Come support them. Very good!

This place has been open for a little bit over a year now. It’s Japanese restaurant that specializes mainly on sushi. I guess you could tell by the name right? To start it’s located in rather small shopping strip with only a handful of stores as its neighbors. Access to it involves going through a single lane road that can be congested during rush hours, so just keep that in mind if you are planning to be there at a certain time. The interior is decorated fairly simple with nothing too over the top. You have sushi bar in the back and tables and booths leading up to it. I would say it a medium size restaurant that can sit a decent amount of people. They also have an outside seating area as well if that’s what you’re interested in. In terms of service, I would say this place is alright. The staff will come by every so often to check on you and see if you need anything, which is good enough for me that they don’t come over too often to the point where you can’t enjoy your meal peacefully. The menu ranges from sashimi, sushi, or just regular Japanese dishes like Ramen or hibachi if that’s fits your palette. I would say the sashimi and sushi tasted very fresh for the most part. I was impressed with that. Most sushi places in GA are either hit or miss when it comes to freshness innthe quality of their seafood. Overall, I had a pretty good experience for my first time visiting. Definitely plan on returning soon when I’m in the area and craving some Japanese food. My Recommendations: –Eel hand roll –sashimi combo(chef choices)

My sister and I just got home from eating here tonight. The restaurant was super cute and clean. The lady who served us was also very nice. We ordered the shrimp and vegetables tempura, spider appetizer, miso soup, pork katsu, fatty tuna sashimi, and sweet shrimp sashimi. Everything came out quickly, presented simple and clean and it definitely hit the spot! We will be returning for sure: D

They are opened on New Year’s Day and they take credit cards. I had a to-go order around 4:30pm. With only one other party in the restaurant, and they just finished paying the bill, my two roll order was completed within 10 minutes. Clean dining area. Nothing stood out, which is neither a good or bad thing.

I give this a four star just because 5 stars are hard to come by. This is one of favorite local sushi places. It’s owned and operated by a young couple who provide a nice personal touch to all their food. From the sushi to Raman soup my wife and I have never had a bad meal here.

Very tasty, got food out quickly, no longer going wait. We had the Momo roll, volcano Roll and the Takeya roll. All 3 were were very good and had great presentation. The best was the Takeya roll. Worth coming here for a great sushi experience!

I wouldn’t trust the reviews here. I got a variety of sushi and they were mediocre at best. Not to mention overpriced. I would put them on par with buffet sushi so if you’ve had decent sushi before I’d pass. The waiting staff seemed like the owners children which is fine and all except they had little to no experience. One of my orders were on the bill but never came out and had other communication issues. They were all nice but I do not recommend.

Since I live in this area I have been eyeing this place for a while now. Ran into a neighbor who told me that the sushi was«outstanding»! Well, outstanding is a high honor so I put my visit off for a few more months. There aren’t too many good sushi places in JC/Alpharetta so I decided to try it out. Are you ready for it… it’s not outstanding but I have to say it was very very good. The service I can truthfully say was at a high level. We had a few rolls and the fish was fresh, tasty, good size rolls and top notch presentation. My daughter actually had the chicken and steak hibachi which was very good too. They have a nice patio so if the weather is nice sit out there. I’m glad I tried it and will be a return customer when I’m in the mood! Cheers to this place. I’ll be back…

A little sushi place on McGinnis ferry road, one of the most busy road during rush hour in Alpharetta… I guess I was always trying to rush through this area so I never really noticed there is an awesome place here! Sushiming opened in January 2015, without passing out those cheap looking ads, they attracted customer by quality!!! The owner, Ming and his wife are really cool ppl and they make sure they take care every customer. The restaurant only has about 10 tables, kinda like a family style place but serves with quality sushi. As for food… It’s great! The menu pretty much covers everything! Sushi, ramen, udon, don(rice bowl) and some hot entrée(hibachi. Etc). We had some sort of rice tart thing with crab and shrimp which is pretty good for appetizer. Cucumber river(not sure if I got the name right) is also a very good dish for appetizer, its has cucumber instead of rice and seaweed. It normally comes with some vegetables, but we requested they put some spicy tuna in there. They use organic chicken for their chicken katsu(fried chicken rice bowl), I personally didn’t have a chance to try it but the girl ordered it loved it. I order the chirashi don which is basically sashimi on top of a bowl of rice. They cut of fish is very generous, very well presented and good quality of the fish. Very fresh! My wife ordered the tonkatsu ramen, I wouldn’t say the best I ever had… But it’s decent! Good flavor! The unagi don is also pretty generous, as we all know the eel price is a lot higher than few years ago! I ask them to keep my homemade cheesecake at the very beginning, cuz we had a birthday girl… At the end, as they brought up, they even do some extra work to make my cake looks even better!!! Over all it’s a very good little place right at the corner(for those who lives around johns creek and Alpharetta) we really had a great time there. Highly recommended! FYI, they have live scallops, Uni and some other special stuff depends on the season, or some weekly or daily special that’s not on the menu(feel free to ask them). They pretty much can modify ur request as much as they can. The most important thing is… they do have plenty choice of sake and also some beer and play football games on TV!

I am a consultant and have traveled around the US quite a bit, taking clients out to all sorts of sushi joints. The sweet spot for me is innovative, fusion rolls and fresh sashimi, not necessarily all the exotic stuff you might find in a high-end San Francisco or NYC joint(shipped here from Japan). We moved to Atlanta last year and have been looking for a good sushi place we can go to on a regular basis. Both my wife and I are sushi fans. This is going to be our place. I came here to meet a number of new friends with motorcycles and talk about our next ride. I was on a diet and wasn’t even planning on eating. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, quality of food, and value. I don’t write reviews on Unilocal often, but this restaurant is worth it! Great sushi at a great price, super friendly staff. Looking forward to many returns.

I wanted to try a new sushi restaurant on Alpharetta and this one was a great choice. The décor is modern and very clean, as well as traditional and comfy. There is even great outdoor seating! It is a great place for date nights, family dining, and even a solo dinner. The service was excellent from the busboy to the waitress to the chefs. We were instantly greeted by the crew as we entered. All of our food was extremely delicious and the fish/meat was fresh. It’s a great local sushi restaurant and I highly recommend it.

Arguably, the best brown rice sushi in the area. The brown rice on their sushi is grainy, not at all mushy. The customer service is great and you always feel welcome when you enter the restaurant. I’ve ordered from Sushi Ming several times for lunch and they have a good deal for Sushi Lunches — under $ 10 for your choice of 2 sushi rolls, comes with a soup and a salad. By the way, their salad that comes with the lunch special is not the iceberg lettuce sort, its a mixture of spring greens. I will be visiting again!

Honestly, perhaps the best bite of sushi ever for me. Seared white tuna served over a delicate slice of lemon — a recommendation of chef Jackie. If your tired of the same over stuffed rolls and ready to try an elegant carefully crafted mouthful of delicious, then you’ve got to try this little gem of a restaurant.

You know how some locations seem cursed? Over the years one restaurant after another comes — and goes. We assumed this was one of those spots, but after a few months of this little sushi place being open, we decided to give it a try. Those Unilocalers before us couldn’t be too wrong, right? They were 100% right. The curse has lifted, because this place is great! I’m confident and very hopeful that this place will be here for a long time to come. They have what any great restaurant needs to be called great… Very high quality ingredients prepared with care, even the kids meals were delicious, excellent service(friendly courteous and informative) and clean cozy environment. This will be our new weekend spot. Jackie and his wife have a winning recipe and it’s called passion for everything they serve. Give it a try and you will surely come back over and over for more.

Great little Sushi place. This place has a great ambiance and is very clean. The customer service is excellent and the food is great. We had the chicken teriyaki bowl and the shrimp hibachi with fried rice. The food is very fresh and the meat seems to be organic. Also the shrimp tempura, we tried, was very light and crunchy. I will definitely be going back.

Our New Favorite Sushi Place! We went to SushiMing for the first time about a week ago and have eaten there 3 times since! The fish is super fresh and the fried rice is fantastic. We have tester rolls(spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and super crunch) that we try at every new sushi place to get a baseline before we order new stuff. Unfortunately we haven’t branched out because those three rolls are super tasty! Our roomate got the Chef’s Choice sushi last night and thought it was fantastic. From presentation, to service, to freshness, to tastiness, there’s nothing not to like. Hooray for SushiMing!
