Reading a lot of «average» reviews, but that was not our experience! We found breakfast to be pretty good! Came upon it on a road trip and it was just what we needed to get our day started. No complaints on service and thought it was a good choice!

Chocolate chip pancakes were good but my sons sausage was pink and my food was terrible not fresh, greasy sandwich potatoes has a strange taste to them some looked like hard crumbs this place should consider changing things to make better food also my coffee drink was also not good more then half the cup was foam can’t say I’d ever recommend this place.
I’ll put it this way TWO greasy bites, some foam and coke cost me over 26.00

Absolutely ridiculously horrible service. I mean it’s so bad we will NEVER return. Considering how expensive the food is, and how long it takes to be prepared you would think the waitresses would at least be quick and polite… NO. Instead the food takes forever, is priced super high and to top it off the terrible service. And the worst part is we’ve tried the other location in eureka and it’s even worse!!! Get it together golden harvest… you guys have the best mimosas ever, and the food is pretty good as well, it’s unfortunate there is no management to run the front of the house!

These two stars are solely for the food– which is delicious.
The service on the other hand, was atrocious. I’ve been here three times now. (Why I continue to come back, I don’t know.) This last time was the worst. I went with my boyfriend and we waited five minutes at the front to be seated. We then waited another fifteen minutes for drinks. We were ready to order right away, but instead we got to watch our waitress go to another table that was seated after us and take their order first. We sat and watched them eat their entire meal, pay, and walk out before we even saw food. My water was never refilled. I will not be returning.

Hm, I do not want to be overly dramatic and negative about this place since it was not that bad. However, it also was not that great and sort of pricey for the small portions. I have honestly have had better breakfasts at Denny’s. NOW, let me explain so you guys can improve:
–Hash browns were not crispy enough, almost uncooked.
–Eggs had a strange flavor, did not seem the freshest.
— Overall small portions for the price.
Otherwise, the server was friendly and happy to serve us. Breakfast places are hard to nail, so follow those steps and do it right!

Oh me, oh my, oh cream of patience and waiting. To sit my tartare rump in a booth of buttery solidified eternity… I can’t wait for my desired lipstick stained coffee mug of perfection. Married to multiple families and paying off circumcised preachers I found the booth that I sat in with incomparable satisfaction. I know it’s serious, I know it’s my generation. We dance, we parade, we borrow our friends feelings. Almost like the Christmas tree that waits to be taken down in spring, you’ll wait… For the better or for the worse.

Food is average.
I always get the same server. (There are nice ones!) She is horrible. No water (I know we are in a drought) unless you ask repeatedly. Slams plates of food on the table. No apology for food splattered on my girlfriends shirt.
The prices are high for the low level of customer service. Its not that hard to bring water out and be polite.
Lame. I don’t go here unless it’s someone else’s choice.

I have been to golden harvest many times! I used to always enjoy the service and the food! These last couple of times :
–No fresh orange juice (no matter what time I go)
–food was ok
–Bad service
–food took an hour (6 other people were in the restaurant when I arrived)
I’m going to spend my money else where

Awful!!! It took 15 minutes for drinks, breakfast took 45 minutes. I ordered chicken biscuit the chicken was half dollar size with the breading that was too hard to eat. Waitress couldn’t care less

This is the first bad review I have left but this was such a sub par breakfast I felt I had to. Yes it was an hour before close on a busy sunday, but it was a pretty poor experience head to toe. I got the breakfast sandwiches and breakfast potatoes. Biscuits weren’t good, tasted microwaved like has been said here. The sausage was overcooked and and breakfast potatoes were mushy and lacking flavor. The gravy was inedible, and it takes a lot for me to not want to eat gravy. My lady got the veggie scramble and it was also fairly «okay.» With such vibrant food options in Arcata this is one place I will never go again. I’m bummed to be so bummed about a brunch experience. Off to wild berries for some juices and smoothies to counterbalance that tasteless breakfast.

Ate here today. Considering how busy it was, I was prepared for a wait. I was not prepared for waiting over an hour for food, and that is after the waitress took our order. We waited twenty five minutes for just an available waitress. While we waited for food we were ignored for the most part, barely managing to get refills on water or coffee. When the food did arrive it wasn’t too hot, and they had forgotten part of it. The good news was that the food was acceptable. We felt rushed out of there once we were almost finished as they were taking plates as we were eating the last bites off of them. I started this review with two stars, never mind-it’s one star.

We went here while we were visiting friends and they said they love the place so we tried it out. The wait time to be seated was only about 5 minutes (there were 5 of us and a baby) and they quickly brought drinks and took our order. When we got our order, they brought us a California Benedict instead of the Original Benedict. I had the biscuits and gravy and although the gravy wasn’t bad, it lacked a little flavor and the biscuits weren’t fresh and flaky (almost like they were microwaved to be reheated) then I didn’t get my order of hash browns until after everyone had already finished their food. They then charged us incorrectly on our bill for out mimosas. $ 33 instead of $ 19.
Although all this happened, the nice waitress took off the order of hash browns, the California Benedict and one mimosa. We believe in second chances so we will come back maybe one more time when we visit and give them another try.

Disappointing. Ordered the breakfast special; the «Ultimate breakfast sandwich». The biscuits were dense and dry, the gravy was heavily salted. The rather smallish portion of hash browns were lukewarm and not crispy. Others in our party expressed similar lack of enthusiasm for the fare. Used to eat here regularly years ago. It was a breakfast icon. Looks like they’ve become complacent (or maybe I’m spoiled by better choices).

I always enjoy my breakfast at Golden Harvest. One of the few places I feel like a local. I love the thermos of coffee they leave at your table with ample cream and sweeteners. The Benedicts are all excellent. The staff is always genuinely friendly.

Fail! Started good with hope for a great experience, then it fell off as the crowds left and things slowed our service fell off as well. Diabetic mom couldn’t wait for the slow kitchen and staff that was nowhere to be except at other tables checking in on other guests. 50 plus minute ticket time with our order going in after much of the rush had left. Ordered at 12:35pm, got food after 1:25pm and seemingly after we reminded them that Mom already took her meds and needed to eat. Slipped through the cracks is my hope. Some food came out warm and one could tell had been sitting for a while. Poor showing for first time diners. Sad because the food seemed good, well that which came out warm.

This is my #2 veggie burger in the world, and I have had about 500+ veggie burgers (different kinds) in my life. They have at least 10 options for veggie burgers. It was amazing for everyone in my family. My husband (a meat eater who ordered a seitan burger) loved it. My kid (who is pickier than anyone I know) loved it. Prices were fair. We ate there, then went camping, and drove back the next day 3 hours round trip to come back and eat there again when we had enough of camp food. I dream of this place and want to go back (3,000 miles away… insert sad face).

The food is mediocre, and the service isn’t anything I would brag about. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because my girlfriend liked her meal and for the freshly squeezed OJ. I would only come back if someone else wanted to go.

Came to have brunch with my sister. We arrived before 12:30, and were seated pretty quickly. Ordered in 10 minutes or less. We didn’t get our food until 45 minutes or more. I ordered the classic 2 eggs breakfast and my sister ordered the blue Cajun omelette. My plate definitely had a lot of oil/grease in the food. Hash browns had a lot of oil, so did the eggs, and hash browns were really salty for me, unusually salty? It wasn’t a favorite, and it was a classic breakfast plate. The oil bothered me, and I orders toast but has to wait, then remind, and I got my toast when we were done. They didn’t charge me for the toast, but I pretty much didn’t want it at that point. My sister’s omelette was flavorful. It was an okay, filling breakfast. I wouldn’t come running back again, but it isn’t the worst place you could go.
