My Friend’s Place is a deli/sandwich shop with about 10 locations in metro Atlanta. The business has been around for decades and is known for its quick, healthy, affordable, and tasty soups, salads, wraps, and sandwiches. This review is for the store located at Akers Mill Square, the big shopping center at the corner of Akers Mill Road and Cobb Parkway(Highway 41). Other tenants in the shopping center include Bed, Bath & Beyond, Sports Authority, Chipotle, and Chick-fil-A. My Friend’s Place is on the same side of the property as The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. and Subway. The restaurant is only open around lunchtime, 10am-3pm, Monday-Saturday. This location seems to be popular with office workers and middle-aged women. The atmosphere is casual. Not much has been done to the build-out of the space. It’s very basic — kitchen, ordering counter, and a collection of tables which almost look like they’ve been thrown together. The furniture isn’t as nice as, say, Panera. The restaurant does get busy during weekdays at lunchtime and for good reason. The sandwiches are made fast and taste great. The popular, classic sandwiches are the chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad sandwiches. These sandwiches run about $ 5 each. It’s hard to go wrong with these, so when in doubt, order one. Other sandwiches such as the club, turkey, roast beef, melts, etc. run about $ 6 – 7 each. Bread options can include, but are not limited to, pita, white, wheat, rye, wheat berry, and sourdough. Combos are available for roughly $ 7 – 9 each. They come with a side and drink. Note side and drink options are somewhat limited. Sides consist mostly of assorted chips(e.g. Lay’s, Zapp’s) unless you want one of the aforementioned chicken, tuna, or egg salads. They do have potato salad. Drinks consist of basic sodas(e.g. Coke, Diet Coke) and sweet/unsweet tea. There are also soups, sandwiches, etc. which are available for a limited time only. An example of this includes the Parmesan kale and seared Italian sausage soup. A special I think is great is the turkey, cheddar, avocado, tomato, and chipotle aioli on ciabatta bread. The ripe avocado and the chipotle aioli are particularly delicious. In general, the ingredients are fresh and the sandwiches are satisfying. There are comforting and look and taste«homemade.» So, if you’re looking to grab a quick and healthy sandwich, My Friend’s Place fits the bill. Anything more, you should probably look elsewhere.

Excellent chicken salad sandwiches and equally great tuna/egg salad sandwiches.

Good sandwiches at a pretty inexpensive price! Usually go with the tuna and egg salad sandwich, dr brown and chips. The staff is always friendly and the food taste like your grandma made it! Always consistent — a reg when in the area for lunch!

My Friend’s Place is located in the Sports Authority shopping center between Cobb Parkway and Akers Mill Road. It’s on the left hand side closer to Cinco’s. It’s a nice cozy place. I’ve mostly eaten here when lunch is cater from for work. There are varieties of sandwiches and the portions are plentiful. I enjoy their dessert plate with cookies and brownies, just wish there were more chocolate chip options. Their sandwiches are not the best but it’s good enough to fill up my tummy.

I brought a group here and was underwhelmed in every way. The sandwiches were not really on par with other shops(I had the Reuben). It was a convenient location, but there wasn’t enough to draw me back probably.

When I lived/worked in the area, I ate at this location about once every 2 weeks. It was always consistent(and good). I went by today(probably been 2 — 3 years since I was there last). I found the service to as friendly and fast as I remember it and the food just as good.

This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots for a casual lunch. Staff is friendly, the menu has a variety of light sandwiches, soups, and sides, and it’s very affordable. I get a simple half sandwich and cup of soup and it’s a perfect lunch, in a friendly environment with no attitude/pretense. I go about every week now.

This is not a fancy, trendy place… This is My Friend’s Place. Anytime I want a quick, light lunch because I was too lazy to pack my own, I go to My Friend’s Place! Every location is a bit different and Cobb Pkwy is by far the BEST! Why? Stan, the wonderful, adorable owner, runs a sparkling clean operation and he does not use too much mayo in the tuna, chicken, or egg salad! The Dunwoody location & the Sandy Springs store use way too much mayo… yuk! West Coast tuna, served with sliced avocado & egg salad on pita are my favorites! What are yours? The only thing I do not like are the styrofoam cups… Please use a better cup!

Disclaimer: This review is only for the catering portion. When the actual catering company for the meeting space was on holiday and wouldn’t let me use the online ordering system(awesome Sodexho, as usual), I was recommended to My Friend’s Place. I called them at 8am when I needed 10 box lunches delivered to the meeting space at 11:30am. They took care of everything, delivering to the meeting space as requested, charging to the card given over the phone, and providing me with card receipt and invoiced receipt. The assortment included chicken salad, tuna salad, two roasted veggie(for the vegetarians), ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, and roast beef. Each boxed lunch had the sandwich, a bag of chips, a pickle, and two cookies. I don’t remember exactly how much each was, but the total was only $ 95 for 10, so that’s not bad. My chicken salad had big chunks of apple and celery and tasted fresh. All in all, a great experience.

I have been here twice in the past two days. That is something. The sandwiches here are pretty good HOWEVER! I can make them at home and for a fraction of the cost. They use regular grocery store bread and the meat looks like it also. The service is quick and the people are friendly. I went in today and it was slammed. I mean I guess people love sandwiches they that reminds them of their home or something… Im confused… but overall the sandwiches are pretty good.

excellent choice for what it is, one of my staple lunch spots during the week. I work across the street and MFP has what i’m looking for in a fast/casual lunch: fresh food, friendly staff(Diana remember me every time, and Stan the owner is also very nice) and good prices. they also let me off menu order when the sandwich i like is not the daily special(so yes i’m a little high maintenance but they don’t seem to mind). PLEASESONOTGOTODISGUSTINGSUBWAYNEXTDOOR — MFP is much fresher, more tasty and a friendlier staff.

This is my favorite lunch-time sandwhich shop. I feel good eating here – the food tastes fresh, the staff are friendly, and the prices are reasonable. ‘Tis good stuff.
