Very disappointed. Had a reservation yet we were told we had only 2 hours to eat because they wanted the table for club members. We were seated outside and in short order, 40 or so teenage girls were seated right next to us. We asked to be moved due to noise and the hostess was clearly not happy about moving us. I ordered the steamed lobster and willingly paid $ 5 to have it taken out of its shell. For $ 43 I got a lobster with no tail! I refused it. Got the salmon which was topped with bbq sauce of all things! Yuck! Our evening ended with the hostess telling us it was time for us to go as she wanted the table. Never again will I come to this restaurant. It was bad from beginning to end.

They do not know how to cook steak and the quality of steak is low vs. the high price they charge, the other dishes are good, as everyone else says ambiance, décor and service are very good prices are high

Very pretty restaurant with great views. I liked the variety of the menu, but I was disappointed in what I ordered. I started with Thai calamari. The calamari was chewy and the thai sauce seemed to be just a bottled sauce. I had salmon which was cooked perfectly but had what tasted like BBQ sauce on it. It came with plain red potatoes and a slaw that I didn’t care for. Not as interesting as described on the menu. The one thing that I did really enjoy a lot was a dessert called the Floating Island. It was a meringue filled with chocolate mousse and a light chocolate wafer on top. Delicious and unique. Overall, it was an ok lunch, but I wasn’t impressed.

I’ve been going to the Red Oak Grille for about five years now and am always pleased. I usually eat at the bar, where there’s excellent service, but I’ve also had a party of 10 in the dining room for a special event. Twelve taps at the bar means a nice beer selection. The menu changes seasonally so there’s always something new to try and it’s fresh! One of my favorites is the risotto. Saturday night has live music. The only drawback is that some of the clientele can be a bit snobby.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday with my 8 year old neice and my mother. This was our first time visiting and we were pleasantly surprised. The location sits on a beautiful golf course with a very nice décor inside. There is outdoor seating that we will try when the weather is warmer. I had the bacon wrapped scallops that were delicious and my mom and neice had the BLT and burger. They enjoyed it but will caution that the BLT is a large portion and big enough for two people to share. The bartender made my French Martini perfectly and I will definitely be back with my girlfriends!

Corporate catering in a nice room, on a good day! The front service is wildly inconsistent so I would never plan anything special here, though the atmosphere and building sure has its very positive points. Very country clubs, golf clubs have«great food», but they have«cooked food», with liquor and of course. It is a good, to possibly even very good place to grab a few bar food and for that I would give another«star». A well tended bar, great ambience, good bar menu and congenial service from front door to bar stool. A lot of people bring larger groups here, for the atmosphere, but this is NOT«large group outdoor style» similar to the Sterling Hotel or Stage House Tavern(summertime, especially) and these large tables impact overall service, commanding lot more attention per table than the star comfortable handles, which is due to too few nice, outdoor casual dining places here in Bedminster area.

Had dinner after a round of golf. I’ve been here once before but it’s been a while so don’t remember what I got but this time, we got one order of buffalo wings and burgers. The wings were not too wet but had a great flavor. We also got burgers which were good. Flavorful with brioche rolls. You can add on more things to the burger for extra. The burger starts at $ 14 but def worth the price. Also got some Stella beer and it was ice cold which is how it should be. We sat at the bar and the service was good as well.

3.5STARS We had a late lunch at the Red Oak Grille while driving through Basking Ridge. The country club had the typical country club atmosphere and the Red Oak Grille is the typical country club restaurant in this country club. The atmosphere here is great though! The indoor area has a very luxurious feel to it and the outside patio has a grand view over one of the holes. I ordered the scallops and pasta. Delicious! However, though I know scallops are expensive, I wish I could have received more than four small ones. I know the chef could have prepared the dish with a few more. Also, they serve oyster po’boys here! I’m from New Orleans and I know po’boys well. This place will be a close option for po’boys while away and in New Jersey. Overall good experience though the price point is higher than the expected value of the food which was expected at this golf course restaurant.

Just ate there and was disappointed. I’ll tell you why. It’s 9⁄11 and we went to see the spotlight memorial from the trade center. You can see the freedom tower from their back deck. Pretty cool! Anyway. I just read all the other reviews an they were spot on? Except for one thing no one mentioned. $ 17 a glass and the bartender with the hair knot on his head poured less and less every glass. Too bad his tip was tied to the waitress’ tip Or he would have got what he gave me. Less and less.

Awesome Place!!! Amazing, I looooooved it. I went for brunch and the food was delicious! Our waitress was friendly and the environment was clean. Everyone enjoyed their food, and everything was amazing! I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a VERYVERY good meal! The view in the outdoor eating space was definitely pretty, as it overlooked quite a few golf courses. This is a very good place to get a burger so I recommend it highly! No matter what you order, you will definitely be pleased!

Varied Menu. Always well prepared and with great service. The location invites a seat outside where you can see the golf course. And don’t miss the wine list. Try the wings or a custom built ROG burger.

The food, view, and employees are excellent. You probably cannot easily find this good restaurant around the area. The outside balcony seatings have such a beautiful golf course view. This is good for private parties.

Definitely a fan of the Red Oak Grille. Cozy atmosphere inside, never an issue with the pleasant staff, and the food is always outstanding. A little disappointed that they had removed the DELICIOUS steak nachos, but other menu items are just as good. Every now and then, since I live close by, I’ll just swing in to pick up some chicken caesar salads, which are fantastic.

Rarely am I compelled to write a review, but my experience at the Red Oak Grille was so wonderful that I have to share! We received a recommendation and decided to stop in while visiting family in New Jersey recently. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating and the server took care to point out some fantastic options for the table to enjoy. We started with the Thai calamari and the house made guacamole, which we devoured with enthusiasm. We could’ve ordered more appetizers, but opted to save room for the main dishes and we’re glad we did! The portions were extremely generous! Between our group we had the Jail Island Salmon, the Filet Mignon, and the Shrimp Spaetzle. Everything was phenomenal and we all found ourselves nibbling from one another’s plates. We cannot say enough great things about the Red Oak Grille and will definitely be returning soon! Thanks for a beautiful meal!

I absolutely loved this restaurant! We were driving home and happened to see it and decided to stop and were super impressed by how nice it was inside. Loved the free mimosa and the orange coconut bread was amazing. The menu was very diverse and we tried the salmon omelette and the pancakes. Very filling. The place was crowded but noise levels were fine and our waitress always checked in to see how we were doing. And the prices were amazing. With the free drinks and bread, our bill was only $ 25 for two enormous breakfasts!

Tried this for the first time. We had fish tacos and steak tacos which were excellent and the wait staff was great. The prices are high for the size of the portions and drinks. The fish tacos were $ 20 for three smallish tacos.

Such a disappointment. Wait staff incredibly rude. Food extremely inconsistent. nachos, calamari and pizza ordered. Nachos tasted stale w/microwaved ingredients. calamari drenched in oil and soggy. Main course of cod, steaks and salmon all ok but drenched w/butter. Apple crisp seemed as if it was re-heated from left-overs, ice cream and tiramisu mediocre at best. Sorry, will never return and always try to give a place a 2nd chance due to an off night, not the best dish etc. The combo of rude staff and sub par food = wasted relaxing night out.

Absolutely breathtaking views from the patio and surprisingly good food. My wife and I hosted our rehearsal dinner here with 50 of or nearest and dearest. Jason, the food and beverage manager, was great to deal with on all of the logistics beforehand, and accommodating to our various requests. The food, as said, was better than expected for buffet fare, and they ended up putting out more than we expected to get. Service was attentive, and they stuck to our requests of keeping the drinks beer and wine only. The views at sunset onto the golf course are absolutely amazing. The only thing I might say is that at $ 41 a person, plus 20% tip and tax, it is a bit expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for given the quality of the food, ambiance, and service. For anyone looking to host an event, you cannot go wrong with this place.
