Almost two hours to get a delivery. I called to check twice and they said ‘the driver is very busy’. I honestly don’t understand how that is an acceptable answer. No offer of a credit or a refund. Bay Ridge is full of Chinese restaurants no need to give business to one that takes TWO hours to deliver.

I’ve tasted better Chinese food but my problem is that they have given me the wrong order various times. The only reason i keep ordering from them is because they’re the closest, otherwise I would have been going to a different place. I should probably make it a habit to check what they give me before I leave.

If I could give 0 stars I would… I read the previous reviews(one showing a hair in the food and another stating items ordered never sent) despite this based on my friends recommendation I still ordered. The food was subpar and they never delivered my entire order. I will not order again. Good luck

I’ve been ordering from here for awhile. The food is good. Today I ordered using the grubhub app(I had a 15% off coupon). When the food was delivered, I was missing an eggroll and a pint of rice, I called them and told them the situation. They asked if they could give it to me next time. What??? Um, no. I said I wanted it now. They tild me it would be 25 min. I said ok. That was an hour and a half ago… still waiting…

FOUNDHAIRINFOOD. I’ve ordered from here for quite some time, but not since I found a long black strand of hair in my food… I called back to tell them and they said oh okay and hung up. I guess they don’t care that there’s hair in their food? Awesome.

Food is out of this world, whenever I order take out in Bay Ridge it’s always from them, the delivery guy could use a tweaking on his attitude but I love the food so will bear with it.

Just ordered Chinese from here and delivery was in good timing. The delivery guy was very nice. I ordered the chicken lo mein, steamed chicken dumplings and chicken with broccoli(not for me alone). The portions are a good size and the food was satisfying. Not too salty and also not too bland. The dumplings were well cooked, not a lot of places can steam dumplings. They’re also larger than I’ve seen. I’ll definitely order from here again.

Another great Chinese fast food spot in Bay Ridge, these guys have been around for a long time and provide solid food to the area. My go-to meal is a simple one, the Broccoli in brown sauce lunch special. What i love about Pearl of China is their expanded vegetarian menu and the fact that they give you plain fried rice standard with no pork. For years i’ve had to ask multiple Chinese fast food spots to omit the pork, and most of the time my request was ignored, so it’s good to not have to worry about that here. The lunch special is only $ 4.95($ 5.40 with tax) and includes the fried rice with onion, nice big pieces of broccoli and very good wonton soup with not much pork fat in the dumplings. I enjoy their takeout and will continue to be a patron for a long time.

I’m thru with this place. Being that it was so convenient for me, we went there at least twice a week. After multiple times of getting ripped off by them, I won’t be going back. One time they tried to scam me out of $ 10, the next time, they forgot half of my order and argued with me about it when I went back(we order the same thing every time!). Tonight, they short changed me $ 5, and forgot half of my order, then argued with me again! Shame as we live sooo close, but luckily, we have a lot of Chinese places to choose from in the area, including Chopstix which is consistently good. Also, not sure what happened, but their sanitation rating went from a score of 2 back in January, to a score of 47 in May. Ick! What is that, a «C»?

I’ve been eating at Pearl of China for half my life(they were in another spot for some of that, apparently) Years ago, they were the only spot my family would eat from because they were genuinely phenomenal. Somehow, the move seemed to have dulled the food a little — but it is still quite good. It’s not fancy, and from the outside it does have that sort of … Hm… safe? appearance… but rest-assured that you’ll find cheap, tasty cuisine within, with no real space to eat, but no regrets!

Clean, quick, cheap, and delicious: those are my four criteria for Chinese takeout. Pearl of China hits all four right on the nose. Sesame chicken that’s not cloyingly sweet, egg drop soup that isn’t the consistency of glue, and pork dumplings that my friend says he’s been craving since he went back home. This restaurant is easy, extremely fast, and I’ve never had anything but good service.

The number of «fast food» Chinese take out restaurants are not in short supply in Bay Ridge, but when Pearl Of China first opened there were definitely not as many as there are today. Since it made it’s grand debut many of the competing restaurants of this kind have come and gone and yet Pearl still remains. The reason for this being the case is simple — the food has remained good for years and the service is quick whether it be as something ordered in the store or on the phone for delivery. I’ve generally ordered the standards like Shrimp and Lobster Sauce, Sesame Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, along with their fine Dim Sum, boneless spare ribs and Pan-seared Dumplings. All of this is tasty fare and available at a reasonable price. If you happen to find yourself in the need for Chinese food on the quick then this is a solid recommendation when in Bay Ridge for any reason.

Pearl of China was awesome for a lot of reasons. It was open pretty late, especially on weekends. The bill was always super cheap. You could always count on the basics tasting greasy & good; pork fried dumplings, wonton soup, beef & brocolli, sesame chicken, etc. They were consistent, clean, and courteous. When I lived in Bay Ridge this was often a take out stop for me. I miss these guys. San Diego has nothing like them. And yeah, I never ordered the Americanized food and don’t know who would… It’s best to grab the food and eat it back in your apartment.
