First time experiencing Yip’s and it is great! Had two lunch specials delivered… VERY fast delivery, sweet delivery man, they called to make sure the food made it, and the most important part — the food is AMAZING. I had the Spicy Garlic Chicken, Spicy Pepper Steak and Veggie Lo Mein. Wow. My coworker had General Tso Chicken, Mixed Sauteed Veggies and Veggie fried rice and liked it. This will be a go to spot. 5 stars!

Hands down… I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE!!! When I walk in I go straight to the counter(they know me already and my order). I usually get the honey glazed teriyaki chicken with white rice(if I’m feeling crazy, I ask them to mix the fried rice with the rice which gives it 2x the flavor). The service is OUTSTANDING. They always have smiles on their faces and the price is acceptable. The food is cooked and out infornt of you so their is usually no waiting(unless they ran out). A+++.

I usually go to Yip’s every other week since it’s right near the R train station and they have a special where you can get two side entrees and rice/lo mein for $ 6. The food is pretty decent and is served buffet style by their staff. I tend to go a little before closing time so they usually have a sparse offering left. From what I understand, they tend to change the offerings. I usually get the sesame chicken, shrimp, chicken broccoli, general Tso, or this sweet sticky chicken [the name eludes me eight now]. All which are pretty decent taste, quality and portion size. The food tastes good even when left over the previous day but some of the chicken becomes a bit stiff. The staff is pretty friendly but I guess since I visit there often, they just might be nicer to me. Overall, it is decent quick Chinese for the price.

The food is tasy for fast food. Generally the staff is helpful. They no longer have two items for $ 5, instead its $ 5.95 which is still a deal. The main complaint i have is the young lady who works in the front. Her attitude suggests that shes having a bad day EVERYDAY. I visit this place at least twice a week and she doesnt even bother to greet me. instead she usually rolls her eyes and makes faces. My entire store has the same complaint so its sad but we wont be frequenting this establishment any longer due to the lack of service.

For fast food, this is a good place to get a quick bite. There’s a good chance the food has MSG in it, so beware.

I used to go to Yip’s religiously in midtown. But look! They made their way to Bay Ridge of all neighborhoods. Nevertheless, they still maintain their quality of fast food. The price is unbeatable and the portions are good sized. I ordered a hot and soup soup and it was blazing spicey(some may find it tasty). I also ordered the glazed chicken and shrimp over fried rice. That was really good. Convenient location. Hopefully they’ll stick around.

Yips just opened up in Bay Ridge and it was awesome! I had the crispy glazed chicken and I couldn’t get enough! It was crispy, sweet and I wanted more! I would have given 5 stars except, I think there should be less rice and more entrée in the bowl. Can’t wait to try it again!

I had been out very late for the past couple of nights doing my Music Journalist thing and that left me not even remotely interested in cooking anything on my first free night to myself. After the torrential rain had subsided I headed out to decide what would sate the growing hunger. Would it be my staple Pearl Of China, a gyro, or maybe even a big Vietnamese Chicken Noodle soup? I was stumped but remembered that a brand new Yip’s Oriental Express had opened up over on 87th Street. Historically speaking I am very familiar with the Yip’s franchise and remember when the first one opened up on Beaver Street way, way, way back in the annals of time. I also enjoyed the one near my office when I worked on William Street but I am hearing that one has closed its doors. The new space on Fourth Avenue is a very modern looking and clean space. There are tables but not a lot of them. The serving counter is in the back and there were a good dozen or so different things to choose from. The menu at Yip’s rotates which is always good by me. I opted for their special which was two different orders split in the container for five dollars. Had the crispy glazed chicken and the spicy pepper chicken over their fried rice. I took this to go and to add the photos to Foodspotting, but I was out of the place in a hot minute and everything remained warm in the package despite my walking almost eight blocks home. The two dishes were tasty and actually worked well together so I was glad I chose these two. The crispy chicken reminded me of the Yip’s staple chicken kew but it is different. The glaze is a little sweet but not too much and the spicy pepper chicken while hot, is not overpowering either. I would like to try a few other dishes there when time and the need for not doing it myself arises. Welcome to Bay Ridge Yip’s, I hope the area treats you well.
