Amazing place with cheap drinks and VERY comfy couches. it looks like the big living room with a bar in the next room. You can literally lie on the couch while sipping on your drink watching Games of Thrones. The staff is friendly, as well. Will definitely be back.

Ordered one soda burger $ 9,one veggie burger $ 9, One ginger ale $ 2, one coke $ 2, one order of fries $ 4 … Bartender charged $ 34 … Asked Bartender for the receipt«She replied with«We don’t have receipts» … 5÷12÷2016… Are u serious Soda Bar in Bk … really? Well according to the total plus tax the total bill was supposed to be $ 25 — The bartender included her own $ 7 tip. That’s so lame of her ! Girl Bye ! There are way better bars then the ones that will try and scam a tax payer. No receipts? please tell the IRS that.

Love this spot. I’ve been going here for years. the trick is knowing when to go and for what pourpose. The vibe here changes all the time especially as the bartenders change shifts… Either way it’s always worth a try especially because of their 12−7p happy hour 7days a week. Enjoy!

Love this place, great indoor and outdoor space. I’m here every Sunday as a general rule. This bartender is Superman. Also, the best place in the neighborhood to watch football on Sundays. NFL Sunday Ticket on a projection screen, what more can I say?

Never a dull moment in this Bar! Love the people here, love the food and love the ambiance but most of all loveeeee the drinks so if your in the neighborhood stop on in and say hey pull up a stool and get yourself a drink. And aside from the drinks they got great food as well. Try the lamb burger it’s to die for!

My friend and I recently had our birthday here, and it was basically the perfect spot for that. There’s a nice big section with a few arrangements of couches and comfy chairs, the drinks are very reasonably priced and they take credit cards($ 15 minimum though they’ve let me get away with $ 14 a few times). They also serve decent burgers and fries if you’re hungry. Later on, the second room turns into a bumping dance floor. I wouldn’t go here every night and let the record reflect that this is definitely a dive bar — don’t expect fancy mixology cocktails or high-end wine. However, it’s great for groups and really served its purpose for our birthday party!

I love the place been here a couple of times to chill and talk with friends while having a drink maybe 2 maybe 3 usually when I go is early and they let kids in lol seriously my friend and I are drinking and we see 2 kids in there sitting down one of them actually came over very friendly and said hi However on 3÷24÷16 I went and i was charged an extra 6 from whatever my bill was and from whatever my receipt confirms when I gave the bartender my card at around 6:06 on March 24 she put the charge to my checking account and the transaction was floating for 1 day for the correct amount however I wake up today and see an extra 6 dollars charged to my account and I am very disappointed with all this scamming and things going on today am not Sure if she stole the 6 by putting something extra on the account but my receipt states a different total amount I have to call the bar later on since right now they are closed if not I will call my Bank to dispute it So confusedddddd They are liars and scammers they over charge a lot of ppl when you pay with debit or credit shame on Polina or Paulina whatever that bartender name is

The best thing about this place, and there are a number of things that compete for that title, is the bartender. If you come in a group, his first suggestion is to play ‘mystery shot’ and he sure knows how to mix drinks too.

All I can say about Soda Bar is that they have nice drinks and even nicer people. The crowd in here is very culturally diverse and everyone’s happy, smiling, dancing and having a great time. A very chic place to have a small or large get together. Décor is warm an inviting and the music is trendy hip hop, pop and reggae fusion. I wasn’t here for a very long time the night I went, but I had a great time and met a few very sweet people here. Highly recommended.

I have a long, though not exactly prolific, history with this here Soda Bar. It begins many years ago, in a strange, foreign time before I myself was a Brooklynite. In those days, Prospect Heights might as well have been Floyd Bennett Field to me, I was so unfamiliar with Kings County and all the glorious adventures it had to offer. But I had a friend who lived in the neighborhood and brought me here. My days immediately after college were spent living like I never left college — you know, bro-tastic black-out bars with dance music blastin’ and such. So, Soda Bar in the early evening, with its patrons doing sleepy things like sitting and talking was way too chill and boring for my liking at the time. It may very well have been my first trip to a BK watering hole — my mind gets fuzzy in such prehistoric times — but I was wholly unimpressed. I do remember the pressed tin ceiling vividly, thinking this was very Brooklyn, and many years and many pressed tin ceilings later confirming this to be true. Cut to a move to Park Slope, an engagement, another move some few blocks down, a wedding, and my wife and I finding ourselves at Soda Bar after a dinner date on Vanderbilt. The place didn’t look a speck of dirt different. A slower pace of life and a BK address didn’t make me like the joint any better. It’s a dive bar with $ 10+ cocktails. The music was modern and obscure, as if the dude manning the tunes aspired to be an editor at Pitchfork, despite many of the patrons being blue collar locals, and I just couldn’t imagine this being their ideal drinking soundtrack. But something kind of magical did happen. I remember achieving the perfect drunk, one of those fun, friendly, happy, energized, non-sloppy drunks that can only be reached when the planets are aligned in a certain cosmic pattern and your day’s caloric intake hits an exact, unspecified number that allows your body to welcome alcohol to enjoy equilibrium nirvana inside your system. It was one of those types of drunk you wish you could set out and obtain on a whim, but we all know it never ever works that way. If only I had this kind of luck during my douchier, post-college nights. So while I positively associated that awesome buzz with Soda Bar, I wasn’t sure I could really give it all the credit since it was more of a «the whole is greater than the sum of its parts» situations. So, I recently returned to chase that drunk for a second time. And also to check out the DJ dance party in the loungier back half of the bar because apparently I had never made it to 10p on a Saturday night here before. This was definitely prime Soda Bar, finally confirming its otherwise perplexing popularity. There are surprisingly too few places to dance it out in gentrified Brooklyn and this here was a packed house, so it’s good to know for your short list of places to get down. On a personal note, I sped right past that magical drunk and crashed straight into Sloppy Town. Can’t win ‘em all, am I right? Still, I don’t totally get the full draw to this place. At the end of the day, Soda Bar is a half-dive, neighborhood joint and little else. Which is all well and good, except it’s not my neighborhood(although I seriously love this stretch of Vanderbilt). Yes, you can dance here on the weekends and that is a certainly a niche win, but nothing about this bar warrants mixed drinks priced in the double digits. Regardless, I’ll be back, no doubt. Why exactly may be more about chasing that perfect drunk than the bar itself, though, let’s be honest…

I was kind of confused about this place. Came through on a Saturday night 12 Dec 2015. This was a nice night in NY we had a day of 60+ degree weather. I had just finished a bike ride and my riding buddy wanted a hot dog and fries. I needed to see what was on the menu. So I wasn’t sure if this was a club, bar or a restaurant. I do want to give a shout out to the DJ though the mix was good. I didn’t go further but the front area which was the«bar» area. Cool atmosphere couple of tables for seating well we ordered very good waiter, he truly showed his attentiveness to us. So friend ordered her cider and hot dog and fries, which she enjoyed. I ordered a cheese pizza w/shrooms and onions and a very tasty ginger beer. It was hot and fresh, but just not all that good. It had a funny taste hard to describe. I really do like the atmosphere though.

I actually kind of like Soda Bar. More and more I recommend, «Hey, let’s go to Soda Bar.» I’d recommend the strawberry, strawberry(yes, two straberries), jalapeño margarita. They make the mix themselves in-house. It’s very tasty. Big kick. Not sure how much it(they, yes, multiples), were, and you’ll probably forget too after enough of them. They have some food options. Not sure how they taste, but the portions looked large. There’s also a burrito spot literally next door. Couches in the back make it a great place for groups. Bartenders were friendly. Yeah, I’ll go back.

Aside from the fact that this place has a «C» health rating on the window… This patio is awesome! Such an amazing place for an after work drink or late evening nights when you want a quiet place to go in the neighborhood. The graffiti on the back wall is really cool, and they have lights hanging throughout the patio which is the only form of lighting(and it does a pretty good job too). They have food here… dumplings and fries are what we got. Worth a visit if you are in the area. The inside feels a bit crowded, so I’m not sure how this place is during the colder months.

I’m a little annoyed that one of my favorite chill spots has a darn«C» on there window! What’s up with that?!! Okay so now I’m really pissed! We were listening to music and out of no where they put on sports!

Great space! There’s so many rooms and each one has a different vibe. I especially like the outside area. I came during happy hour — my cocktail wasn’t watered down and and the bartender was cool. I’ll have to come back for trivia and/or dancing!

Regular size bar room on the left side as you enter with about 2 or 3 steps straight ahead that leads to a little separate area. Immediately as you pass the bar, turn left and there’s a big lounge area. Friday night and a live DJ is present on the 1s and 2s. As we walked in the music was so 90s(if that’s Biggie’s era), so pumping and so cool at the same time that I wondered why were folks sitting. The DJ’s spinning R&B, Hip Hop and dancehall. I’m pleased to report that ME, I, your shy(yes I am) and most times laid back Unilocal friend started the dancing, Oh yes I did!!! When good music play there’s no way this Trini girl ain’t gonna sway! I’m having a ball! After about 6 mins of my dancing, others started joining in by the 2s and 1s. In less that 15 mins EVERYBODY was up and grooving and those who walked in after immediately started moving their hips. There was a hiccup at the bar and to be honest the staff here are not as jovial as the patrons but you know what? No one seemed bothered. Yeah, we were unbothered lol. Unisex toilet, or I hope so, with some mad graffiti on the walls which I like. This Friday night they are a 4 star just for the wonderful time I’m having. The End.

For all the trash I talk on BK, it manages to surprise me time after time. I doubt this trend is going to change anytime soon, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. After a late brunch with some friends, our out-of-towner wanted to kill time at a local watering hole. Despite my reputation as the go-to-guy when it comes to finding places to go(within my circles of friends/acquaintances), Brooklyn continues to be an elusive target(more out of sheet apathy rather than being due to a lack of skill). Some wandering around the vicinity later yielded this establishment. While the Soda Bar may serve soda, we opted for more boozy refreshments(beer). We got started around 3:30, and it just so happened to be $ 3 beers for happy hour. And this deal applied to all beers on tap… and there were some upper middle class beers being offered as well. Since they happened to have Blue Point toasted lager, I just stuck with that till I was about 4 deep. While I don’t switch out my beer selections(usually), my companions made switches to other serviceable selections in the form of Allagash, Coney Island lager, etc. And on fine weather days(such as the day we attended), the outdoor seating area couldn’t be more welcoming. Groups of friends, aspiring writers flying solo, and even families w/children were all enjoying the weather. A great place to kill time with good beer and good company. I’d venture to say that my friend’s mission was accomplished, and Brooklyn gets another gold star from me.
