The margaritas are a bit tart. The chips and salsa are exceptional. Pricing is reasonable for lunch and dinner. The quesadillas are excellent everytime. Fajitas are a bit sweet — you get plenty of toppings(Pico, refried beans, sour cream, rice and cheese). I’ve never had bad service.

Every time we passed this place there seemed to be a group of people waiting to get in, so we assumed it to be good. And it was. You can smell the Mexican cooking odor a block away. Inside is ecclectic and we ate outdoors at a small sidewalk side dining space. Service was prompt and friendly. Since we wanted a smaller meal we decided on the small appertizer sampler plate for 2. It was HUGE with more than enough food. How you go on to an entrée after it is behind comprehension. There was a variety of things, primarily all fried but tasty. Good sauces accompany it. The chicken(2 types) was tender and delicious. Quesadillas were fresh and cheese was very nicely done between fresh tortillas. We barely finished it. The chips and salsa for the table are also good, not too greasy and the salsa fresh and on the thick side, which I like. We also had margaritas, blended with salt. Nothing special, but I thought good. My husband was not impressed and found it tasted off. So we differed on it. I would like to try the entrees as there’s a wide variety and dishes going by looked terrific.

From the appetizers to the drinks. Everything was really delicious! For starters we had the chile con queso, which was amazing. I had their chile relleno combination and it has been one of the best chile rellenos I’ve had, and their micheladas ohhhh their micheladas you just gotta try them for yourself. Overall great experience and very friendly and attentive customer service. Will def. be coming back!

I am knocking down one star for service. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer, didn’t arrive until after salads. Also, my salad was just lettuce and blue cheese. I had to ask for it twice, and the second time I asked for it, my friends had already finished their salads. It just felt like they were out of order with food arrival. The place wasn’t even that full, but they acted like they were slammed. The food itself is really really delicious. I had the veggie burrito, very fresh! My husband had the three seafood taco special, really delicious. My friends had the Verde chicken and shrimp burrito — both amazing. The rice is special as well, tastes a little garlic like. None of us could finish our meals, which I always appreciate from a good Mexican restaurant — you should always have leftovers! Their food is really great, and this is the second time I’ve been here. The first time, we had a little bit of poor service as well with not being able to get water. But the food is so good, I just remember to be a little patient when I come here.

Love the fajitas and albondigas soup! Whatever they marinade or use to cook fajitas with is delicious. Great margaritas! We always leave happy, service is great too!

Very good. Loved the décor and the friendly and efficient staff. The menu has some unique(at least to me) items vs the usual tacos and enchiladas-they have that too. I went with one of the shrimp dishes that was very tasty. Would definitely go back.

WOW! Easily one of the best chicken fajitas I’ve ever had! Very chewy and bursting with flavor.

Hate to give this place a bad review because I have so many good memories here BUT, the food was really bad this time. I got the spicy shrimp burrito for lunch and the blacks beans were burnt –legit tasted like coffee(I had no idea this was possible). The shrimp was pretty flavorless, as was the rice :/ I’ll be back, but just for the margaritas…

Have been coming here for years and this review is overdue. The margarita’s are incredible, service is second to none and fajita combo is on point… prices are awesome. On a side note some of the waiters here have been working at DC for over 37 yrs, Juan is one of them, and he is the best… that says alot about an establishment. Always a wonderful experience here, give them a go.

I had been looking for delicious Mexican while in LA and finally I got it. We waited like 15 minutes for the table and when we were sat, we were greeted immediately. My entire experience was fantastic. The salsa was full of flavor and had just enough spicy to it. The chips were very fresh also. I ordered an enchilada ranchero and it was everything I wanted. The dessert was Ok. I ordered the fried ice cream and really it wasn’t what I was expecting. Either way, our experience was awesome and I can’t wait to come back.

Visited with my wife and two kids early Friday evening, as a number of large parties were already waiting. The manager asked if we’d be OK at a smaller outside table, which was great for us. The attentive service continued like that for the rest of our meal. I had the Diablo margarita, made with mezcal and habanero peppers(plus cucumbers). Great cocktail, and seeing I enjoyed it, the waiter promptly suggested the jalapeño ranch dressing for my side salad. Basically ranch dressing with minced jalapeño peppers, but I’d never had it before, and can’t wait to make my own soon. The family does not enjoy spicy food, but they loved their tacos and fajitas — actually raved about them, which shows the kitchen can make delicious mild food as well. They loved the tortilla soup. I had the Yucatan sea bass, which was fabulous. I’d been told this was a great Mexican restaurant, and in terms of service, atmosphere, drinks and food, it exceeded our expectations on all counts.

I am writing this review at 3am with a severe stomach ache after having dinner here earlier. It blows my mind that anyone would describe this place as «authentic Mexican» although by looking around at the patrons(who were not Latinos) maybe I’m not all that surprised. The staff was amazing and they are the only reason I’m giving 2 stars. They were attentive, quick, friendly. Parking is awful, and even worse now that Olive & Thyme moved in. You’ll most likely need to validate. The food was awful. Just awful. The beans were bland, what happened there? Salting beans is a tough one… for rookies. I found a piece of meat in the beans? I wasn’t sure if that was on purpose or an accident because it was the only small piece. Strange. We had shrimp wrapped in bacon, it did not taste fresh at all. The shrimp tasted like it had been sitting in dirty water. The salsa was off, the chips were good at least. The rice was bland. The marinated beef was ok. The guacamole was slimey. This was not my first time here, but it may be my last. So now I’m up with a stomach ache and kicking myself for eating here.

The food and drinks here were delicious! Portions were huge and there’s definitely more than enough to eat. I would suggest sharing entrees if you cannot eat a lot. We got the fajitas combo and the fried burrito. I didn’t see anything special with the fried burrito which was just filled with chicken and beef. The fajitas were delicious. The combo came with shrimp, beef and chicken and they serve it on top of a steel post under a candlelight which was cooked on a cast iron plate that keeps your food hot.

I came here with a small group from work a couple of weeks ago, and it’s been several years since I last ate at Don Cuco. They were all newbies to this restaurant. We were all pleasantly surprised(I had vetoed a couple of other Mexican selections and just didn’t remember how good this place was). Service is prompt and friendly. The chips and salsa are fresh and good. The food itself is really well prepared and portions are very generous. We all got different things, from sopas to tacos to enchiladas to… Everyone was very pleased with the food. They were busy, so I’m sure they are still top of mind for plenty of people… and they should be. Conveniently located to the studios, they serve good food. Would definitely go again!

Most average, overpriced, Americanized Mexican food I’ve had in Los Angeles. Their solo veggie burrito was $ 7.95 and mostly all white rice with a sprinkle of black beans. It didn’t even come with guacamole or avocado, had to pay extra for it. Red sauce was blah. My boyfriend ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp at a steep $ 18 for 5 pieces. One Pacifico and two entrees was $ 34. Not worth it. I’m only giving this place 3 stars because the service was great and the free chips and salsa were on point.

Great spot for Mexican food. I typically go to the one on Orange Grove and I don’t know if they are owned by the same people but the food certainly tastes the same. #burbank #doncucos #mexican #food

Great authentic mexican cusine in Burbank/Toluca Lake. We came with a group of 6 for lunch and for margaritas w/o reservations and were seated pretty quickly. The margaritas are pretty popular here(I didn’t have one) but my coworkers swear by them =) I ordered the two taco combination(tacos al pastor) which comes with rice & beans… others ordered the chicken fajitas, and another ordered the mix fajitas. All the food came out fairly quickly, and of course they fill you with chips & salsa while waiting. My tacos were delicious, and a decent size. I really enjoyed the fun ambiance, service was good, and food was good. Definitely worth coming back!

Not bad, not bad at all. My colleague and I decided to have lunch here. The last time I’ve been to a Don Cuco was in Glendale, but they’ve closed their doors about two years ago. Unless we missed it, we didn’t see a designated restaurant parking. We got lucky and found one hour parking on the street in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is dark with reddish pinkish walls. We sat down and greeted right away with chips and salsa. The salsa was perfectly spicy. I ordered the chicken enchilada suiza with black beans. It was very good and just the right portion for lunch. All in all it was a pleasant lunch meal. Customer service could have pumped it up a notch.

Street parking. No reservations after 6. Seated a party of 12 in 45 mins(not bad). Chips and hot salsa and a guava margarita to start. Tortilla soup and combo steak, Ckn and shrimp fajitas for dinner. OMG crunchy Apple chimichanga for dessert. Deep fried ice cream– Ehhh not that great. Corn flakes taste stale… Nothing deep fried about it except the tostada bowl. Awesome server. Always checked up on us.
