I have been coming to this precious boutique for years! I have always enjoyed Penny’s suggestions and advice. It is absolutely addicting and the perfect place to lose yourself.

This is the place to get holiday, birthday… any gifts for women, men and kids! I’ve been buying China Rain essential oil from Penny for years and it’s always great. Skin care, gorgeous scents, gifts for kids, cozy blankets. She has loyal customers for a reason!

I had passed this shop quite a few times in the evenings and always wanted to check it out. I finally had the chance to go on my day off. First, I want to say that they have a great selection of beauty products and fragrances. It’s a very cute and unique store with lots of potential. The young woman at the counter said hello but was quiet. I was the only customer in the store and I took my time to look around because there was so much to see.
Another customer came in to see their oil bar where you can custom make your own perfume. I didn’t notice this at first and became intrigued. I decided to make my own perfume and asked the lady at the counter a few questions. I had never mixed a fragrance before and wasn’t sure what would mix well. Her responses to me where short and unhelpful. She didn’t ask any questions and didn’t make any suggestions. At one point I said, «I’d like to add something fresh or earthy to balance the sweetness.» I was anticipating some recommendations, but her response was, «ok, let me know when you find something fresh or earthy,» in a sassy tone and she walked away. Ultimately, I was left with a sickeningly sweet perfume that I will probably never wear. I wish I would have taken my time to pick something that I like, but I felt rushed. I would like to come here again, but hopefully the customer service will be more helpful and friendly.

If you LOVE feminine stuff, then come and experience this amazing little store. The merchandising is fantastic. It’s such a great place to visit and no matter what you purchase it’s wonderful. This is your go to place for skin care and gifts, including jewelry and bags. Take some time to enjoy the store, it’s LOVELY.

DO NOT GO HERE! The old woman who runs the place is so unbelievably rude! There’s nothing special about any of their products (unless you want a purse or iPhone case that looks like it came straight from the swap meet), so just save yourself the trouble & go to the mall to purchase your products. Also, there are no refunds, so why purchase ANYTHING here? Personally, I’d rather get my products from somewhere that has good customer service & has a more flexible return policy.

I come here EVERY time I need a special gift! Great selection and Penny, the shop owner intuitively knows the right gift you need. Plus, the gift wrapping makes entire trip worthwhile. LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop!

This place is a Gem! When I got married in 2006, I bought all my bridesmaids a beautiful one-​of-​a-​kind gift; they each got a butterfly inspired chrome & colorful wine stopper that they still use today!
Special gift for a very good friend: Anytime I need to buy a gift I go there. When one of my friends, who was also my real estate agent, found us the house we bought (first home btw), I ran to Escentials to buy her a necklace, she wears it all the time and says it brings her good luck!
Baby shower: another one of my dear friends was having a baby shower and sure enough I went to Escentials and they had a beautifully packaged custom made arrangement that included onesies, receiving blanket, bath scrubbie washcloths and more. It was a conversation wow-​piece that the mom to be really loved :)
Bridal shower: I have a bridal shower I’m going to today. I got to Escentials ten-​minutes before they closed yesterday and Penny was very sweet & helpful. I found 2 white pillowcases that says: P. S. I love You and a beautiful stone that can b placed in the bedroom or other room and it says: Don’t Forget To Kiss Me Every Night. I’m sure the bride is going to love these! I can’t wait for her to open her gifts.
I have lots and lots of other stories that I can share. Okay one more. I bought a jewelry box from Escentials; this jewelry box is special because it set the tone for my room. It’s turquoise with beautiful beading. In fact, I’m going to take a picture and post so you can see all the wonderfulness that I’m talking about!
Great place to shop. Every time I have shopped here everyone is amazing & down to earth. Oh and they provide complimentary gift wrapping :))!! Huge bonus!

Came here today to buy some items for a spa basket that I was putting together. Great selection and lots of upscale products. The wrapping was also really cute.

The people who work here are sooooo rude. I came in here once to buy my mother a present. I was carrying 2 nail polishes when one of them dropped. I apologized soooo many times and said I would pay for the broken bottle. I guess that wasn’t good enough. The lady kept complaining that she would have to shut the store down so she can go over to Albertsons and buy some nail polish remover to wipe up some of the nail polish that was on plastic bags. She asked me if I had cash to give her to go buy some and then told me to go buy it. Really? It was an accident. I have never been somewhere where I was treated so poorly. I will never step foot in this place again

I needed two very meaningful gifts for business professionals who have been extremely good to me! After unproductive wanderings into several gift shops in Studio and Sherman Oaks, I remembered that little gift shop West of my Calabasas Park home.
Right away, I got a huge «pick-​me up» in the form of a compliment, on the elegant way I was dressed. It should be obvious to anyone that I am extremely demanding. I know what I want and my standards are high. I was then thinking, «had I planned ahead, I could have gotten better prices on e-​bay!»
Nevertheless, because time is also money, I reluctantly made my selections. My regrets evaporated when I saw the first package: a dramatic black, red and white visual marvel in an elegant gift bag, with generous tissue paper and an imaginative bow! The second was a red and white delight to the eyes as well.
Emily, the attendant, was super-​nice and interested in my background. I much prefer attentive service and «artisanal» originality in a private setting rather than the mass-​produced atmosphere in malls where you have to fight for parking spaces!
Incidentally, I have lived near The Commons for more than a dozen years and rarely shop there! Escentials is a good value!

Let me just say that this boutique is FABULOUS! I’ve been shopping here for years. When it comes to birthday gifts for my girlfriends, I don’t bother to go anywhere else but Escentials. I know I’ll find great quality products and one-​of-​a kind gifts. I can always count on Penny and her staff to help me find something special for my friends or loved ones. The complimentary gift wrapping is super chic and adorable. My friends always get excited when they get a gift that bares the «Escentials» label on it. For a small space, they do a great job in keeping it together and stocked with lots of goodies from accessories, to face/​body/​hair care or neat things you just can’t live without. And the prices are super fair. Trust me, I’ve shopped at local competitors in the surrounding area and they don’t compare to Escentials’s prices. Give yourself plenty of time when you shop here. There is so much to see and sample. Enjoy!

From the moment you walk in, your senses are overjoyed with fantastic fragrances and beautiful gift items. This Mom owned business is filled with every imaginable skin care product, makeup, jewelry, Cards, Scented Candles and so much more… I always find something there for my gift shopping needs, and end up with a little something more for me as well. Expert advise on skin care products … if you don’t see what you need just ask for it!

What an adorable store!
Located in a pretty large shopping center with a huge Albertson’s, this store is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a cute gift for a friend. Filled with Bare Minerals makeup, perfumes, grooming tools, jewelry, lotion, and fun little presents, you could literally spend an hour in this store and just keep finding cute little things you want to buy.
My mother and I both love this store, and an Escentials gift certificate never fails to please. The owner is sweet as can be, always helpful and willing to offer her advice on cute combinations for gifts.
