for starters waitress was rude, she gave us what we needed but was not happy to serve us at all — acted like we were inconveniencing her, 10.00 gets you icky mayo slaw — potato bland salad a pile of meat pork that has zero flavor and you add your own sauces and a texus toast bread — total value in the real world maybe 3.99 — was not worth it … wont be back — worst bbq i have ever had — terrible

My all time favorite BBQ house. I’ll never look at a baked potato the same again.

Mediocre at best. Dry, not a lot of smoke flavor. I travel extensively and am a huge BBQ fan. I like almost all BBQ styles from Memphis dry rub, to GA Sweet, to Carolina vinegar, even Alabama white(and even tolerate S Carolina mustard if the meat is prepared well). Unfortunately Dubs doesn’t make it on the radar for good Que. Not inedible but nothing special either. Much better BBQ elsewhere in N Ga.

This place is very good. Barbecue has good flavor and sauces are very good. Ask for the hot habanero sauce. Good service and nice location. Good local hangout

BBQ without a specific regional affiliation(i.e. Texas, Carolina or Memphis) always leaves me underwhelmed, but can be tolerated if the joint has its value quotient in synch with the quality AND offers interesting sides. Dub ‘s gets neither of those right. Add in the absurdly inconsistent and unpredictable hours of operation AND the occasionally awful service and you have the most overrated restaurant in Calhoun. People here love it, but that says more about Calhoun’s paltry dining options than it does about Dub’s. Passing by Calhoun? No need to stop.

Excellent pulled pork, delicious onion rings and wonderful Brunswick stew. Definitely give the barbeque sundae a try. Service was excellent!

WELOVEDUBS! My family and I have been coming here for a few years and it’s always delicious. We usually get the super spud(HUGE baked potato loaded with meat of your choice, cheese, sour cream, and BBQ sauce). Their BBQ is excellent and the prices are good. I really like their fried squash as well. Only downside is their really random hours of operation, so make sure you check before you go and get disappointed. I know we’ve made that mistake and gotten there to see they were closed.

Descent food, a little too pricy. Weird hours. I did enjoy the pulled pork plate. It was probably the cheapest item on the menu but was still pricy. The atmosphere is very nice though with the faux-cabin look going on. Relatively a nice place.

Pure garbage. I ordered a hamburger and being at a bbq restaurant you would think it would be a hand patted burger. Nothing but a trashy frozen patty. By the way, their ice cream is fake. It doesn’t actually melt all the way. Will NEVER go to again!!!

We have been working on a shoot out here in Calhoun and Carmen has been bringing us food for lunch. It’s been amazing, she’s not only helped us with food but with just everyday things on set, being an on site local and helping people find locations, bathrooms etc. The ribs are amazing. I loved every bit of it. I cleaned my plate and went back to filming with a happy stomach. Thank you so much for the food, I loved the RR sauce. Oh my gosh I loved it. The family vibe I get from Dub’s is what makes Calhoun a wonderful place.

As one of the very few people who Unilocal in Calhoun, I feel as if it is my responsibility to keep updated reviews over places. I want to first start by saying Dubs is a great place to get BBQ. There definitely are not many places like dubs in Atlanta or even Calhoun for that matter. The food is great. I always order the Pork BBQ. That being said, the service here is awful. Just imagine a place run by the stereotype Calhoun uneducated white trash. The waitress say all the things that people in good service should say, however they say it with a very hollow term. They just act very trashy. Also, I went for lunch once and my debit card was charged twice. The front desk was not helpful about refunding the purchase. I am actually still waiting to have my transaction credited back to my account. I was told that there would be a follow up phone call with the manager, yet I have yet to get one.

It is one of the best rib places I have ever tried — I try to get there once a week. Also, great sauces. The meat falls off the bone and I think the price is very good compared to the national chains in town.

Personally, I’m not impressed. The BBQ is good, but nothing special. Same goes for the sides. Factor in the high prices and it’s just not worth it.

Price is a little high but it’s worth every penny I spend there! It’s the only good BBQ joint in NWGA and small business that this town loves. I suggest the pulled pork sandwich(small or large size)

Dub’s does not have any signage due to a Calhoun city ordnance restricting signage and it means the place is easy to miss as we drove right by it and had to make a U turn. We mentioned that to the hostess when we entered and got what we interpreted as a pretty indifferent and certainly less than welcoming reply. As it was our first time and we don’t get to Calhoun often, I decided to order the pork plate with a side of ¼ slab of ribs so I could try both. My brother had the pork sandwich. I had fried okra and baked beans and he had french fries and stew. The pork came without sauce(which is great so you can taste the meat) but the ribs came slathered in what I think is the original sauce(they have four sauces on the table). Neither the pork nor the ribs had any smoke flavor. The pork had no evidence of any bark either. Both could have been cooked in an oven. I tried all the sauces and several combinations and they helped but could not overcome the lack of pit smoke flavor. The okra were standard frozen okra, not bad, nothing special. The beans could have come out of a can and did not appear to have been enhanced with any home cooking additions. The Texas toast had almost no butter and no discernible flavor. My brother agreed that the pork did not taste smokey but he liked the sauces on the meat. Neither of us liked the stew. It was on the sweet side, fairly smooth with visible pieces of corn. French fries were fine. We arrived about 2pm and it did appear that we were the last customers there and it looked like they were closing so maybe we got the bottom of the barrel. All in all, not what I look for in a BBQ joint.

According to one of its regular customers, Dub’s is the only place in Calhoun that doesn’t need a sign. If it weren’t for the red tin roof, I’m sure I would have whizzed right by it yesterday when I met my family there for lunch. Even so, Dub’s seemed really busy. Every member of the staff at Dub’s was very nice, just what you would expect from a southern BBQ joint but seldom find anymore. We had the fried pickle spears as an appetizer. I was a little hesitant because they were served with the staple of southern dipping sauces/condiments/salad dressings: ranch. I was shocked at how good they tasted… I think everyone who goes to Dub’s should try them. For my entrée, I had onion rings and the pork sandwich, which I smothered in the Dub’s original sauce.(There are four sauces from which to choose.) It was delicious, but I think the pickle spears were my favorite part of the meal. Overall, my experience at Dub’s was great, but our table was terribly lopsided. Instead of fixing it, the man who worked there watched my father crawl around on the floor and replace the missing rubber foot on one side of the table. Also, our salt shaker was completely empty, so I had to grab one from another table. Otherwise, I would have given Dub’s five stars. Random side note: I was especially entertained by the national spelling bee competition that was playing on one of the TVs. I watched 10 – 14 year-olds spell words like metarteriole, keratolysis, and dysautonomia. Lassi was also one of the words, and it’s pronounced like«glossy» without the«g» instead of like Lassie the dog. Tricky, tricky, you spelling bee moderators. I had to look up its meaning. It’s a Punjabi yogurt-based drink that can be made with Indian spices or sugar and fruit to make it sweet. I’ll have to try one some time.
