If you are looking for really bad food, this is the place to visit. Last summer I was impressed with their meals but not anymore. The chef is not the same and maybe he has been directed to keep the cost down, so he buys the cheapest ingredients. Let’s be to the point. I ordered a swordfish souvlaki and it was four tiny cubes and only one was fresh. The other two were tough and the last one smelled really bad. It seems like they do not throw the old pieces out, instead they recycle them with the new ones. It came also with burned vegetables. My friend ordered, a rib-eye steak and it took her several minutes to understand what she had on her plate. The meat was chewy, it looked pre-boiled and it had a gray color instead of dark brown. I tried one bite of her plate and I couldn’t chew it. I urged her to complain and the waitress took it back and we ordered the combination kebab platter. When it came to our table the lamb was stinking. I guess this is the worst quality meat they can afford for their customers. In the beginning we shared a bowl of lentil soup, but it was nothing to talk about. The bottom line is that we wasted around 50 dollars despite the fact that they deducted the rib-eye steak from the bill. That was Saturday night and we got seated immediately. The reason we went there was because whatever other restaurant we chose, the wait was 30 to 45 minutes. We thought that this place was the best Mediterranean restaurant in Campbell and they proved us wrong. We will never go there again. An employee told us that the old chef is not working there anymore.

I really liked this place. Yesterday was the first time I tried this restaurant out and I will definitely be going back. Our waiter gave us happy hour pricing even tho we didn’t sit in the Bar avoiding any inconvenience for us having to move to that section. We were poured water immediately and asked if we would like to order any drinks or appetizer shortly after browsing the menus. We had the tzatziki as an appetizer which was amazing. Very fresh tasting. I tried he beef kebob and I was very happy. Meat was cooked perfect and veggies had great garlic flavor. The rice pilaf was delicious. Portions were just the right size. Customer service was excellent. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone willing to try different food.

This is the second or third time I have eaten at Café Artemis, but the first time I’ve dined in. The experience was way better than the prices would suggest. Gűrhan took very good care of us and catered to our every need. The flavor, environment, and service create the expectation for a largely more expensive check then delivered. Wait-staff and management alike treat guests exactly as that: guests. In the fast paced Silicon Valley area, it’s nice to see a group of people who can offer a customer-oriented, friendly environment. Great job Café Artemis!

I ordered the whole seared trout and it was pretty tasty. My group ordered a side of fries and they had a nice garlic kick to them. My girlfriend got a chicken dish of some sorts and it was pretty good. All these positive things to say but no 5 stars? The service was sooooo sloooooowwwww. It’s actually a testament to how good the food was that I even gave this place 4 stars. The food is 5 stars quality but the service is 2MAYBE3 stars worth.

Great tasting and fresh Greek food. We walked in after spending several hours at Christmas in the park in downtown San Jose. We were famished and Unilocal said this plays would be great. It was. Service It started a little slow but was wonderful. We just beat the dinner rush so I understand the slow start. Aytekin was great checking in on us and the table man, sorry because I missed his name, kept our water filled and the dirty dishes off of the table. Well done first class service. Food Probably the best Greek food I have had. Everything on the starter for four was tasty and the aroma told you it was fresh. Tadzyki had a complex cucumber taste that was refreshing. The dolma was excellent along with the falafel and babaganosh. Very hearty way to start off. I had the portobello mushroom special with cheese on top. It was savory and well seasoned. Just like a good steak. My wife had the chicken kabob and it was tender and juicy. Her side of a bbq pepper and tomato were crisp and tender at the same time. Again both were well seasoned. The pita bread and sliced bread were both warm, chewy and perfect with the butter, cheese spread. Our party of 5 and one child totaled around $ 100, a little pricey, but the service and great food made this a wonderful family holiday dinner. I will be back.

This little café is a treat in the area. I’ve tried a few things, and would love to come back for more great dishes. You’re welcomed with a kind staff and some good recommendations. They were able to give me some suggestions based on my preferences and/or popularity. Babaganoush: It was just average. The mashed eggplants lacked flavor and could’ve been better. Kitemit kofte: So much flavor in the meatball. It was cooked very well and I loved how all the flavors mixed together. The only concern was the pita bread. It was soggy. I should’ve moved them to the side instead of letting it soak in the sauce and getting even more soggy. Adana kebab: The kebab meat was so tender. I just wished they would’ve given me more. The other sides on the dish were just plain. I would’ve been fine with just the kebab and some of the salad. The rice was a bit plain.

Service was attentive, prompt and friendly. But every meat dish our group tried was chewy and dry because it was overcooked probably to mask the fact that it was old. I’m guessing they stay in business due to their location but when we there the place was empty which wasn’t surprising.

I think my friends and I expected a little more from this restaurant. The food was mehhh. I expected to love every bite of my lamb souvlaki but it was mehhh. The babaganoush was tasty tho, liked the pita + sprinkle of herbs. Other dishes ordered in my party were the lamb beyendi, beef chop shish, and Mediterranean okra. The décor, layout/table settings were fancy so I guess that’s another reason why we expected a little more from the quality of their food. A bit pricey, too. The host that sat us down didn’t say a single word to us! No «Good evening! How many from your party?» or «I’ll seat you guys this way,» or «Would you like a refill on your water?» NOTHING! The waitress was attentive though. I love the plaza that this restaurant is in. I’d rather go to a different restaurant within this plaza than come back here. It didn’t really knock me off my feet. Sorry!

If you are reading this review please do not go here… This place is the worst Greek restaurant I have been to in the Bay Area. Their meat is old… Not fresh and bad quality. The hummus is the worst I’ve ever tasted… On a Friday night when everything else arond was packed they had lots of open table… Gee I wonder why? This place is not worth trying… Go to OPA! Downtown Campbell instead if you want delicious Greek cuisine.

Came here at 11 and they were not ready. All the chairs were still upside down on top of the bar and the floor was wet. I almost left because they weren’t ready. Then the food and wine kept me there. I ordered the Turkish red wine Yakut by Kavaklidere with«pine nut» not and the French rose sparkling wines through out the courses. Melitzanosalata dips(very light and acidy — not baba ghanoush at all– almost tastes like eggplant salsa) with veggies and the Okra dish with grilled eggplant. I loved my food but they came out really slow. I came the earliest and the group behind me got served first — I have ordered only veggie dishes so having been working in restaurants this definitely needs improvement as well — feed your single guest first because they don’t have companion there to keep them entertained!

Came by for lunch the other day and was informed that their kitchen wasn’t open until ~11:15 am… :/…the inside of the restaurant wasn’t ready for seating either as it still smelled like cleaning fluids… :/ Complimentary bread was okay. Wasn’t super fresh but still edible with their spread. Started off with the grilled fish wrap which was tasty and fresh, although the fish was slightly fishy… …ordered the wrap with fries and it came out with a salad instead?!? The combo kabob platter was a very generous portion, although some of the meats were slightly over-cooked… Service was okay by the staff… although the bus boy was a little too anxious to clear plates off our table. and the restaurant wasn’t even 25% full yet… ~$ 16/head after tax and tip for lunch.

Over the last 10 years or so, I’d only been here twice. We had tried Orhard City Kitchen beforehand, though the wait was about 45 minutes, so my companion and I decided to go with this ol’ standby. Luckily, they had no lines, they’re more quiet and mellow than OCK, and have an outdoor seating area. The host welcomed us as if he was expecting us — that’s how nice he was. They weren’t too crowded yet, we were seated right away, and they took our drink order. My companion was able to special-order a sampler plate of ALL of their appetizers, which was very accomodating. This is what I ordered — Fried Cigar Borek($ 6.50) — Cigar-shaped pastry shells, stuffed with feta and parsley. This was decadent, and SUPERSUPERSMOOTH and went down the throat GOOD. Adana Kebab($ 14.95) — Ground lamb and beef, flavored with red bell peppers, onions, and herbs, grilled on a wide skewer, side of flatbread. The kebab entrée comes with rice and bulger(though I opted for extra rice instead of the bulger). This was also great; the meat was moist, and I love how they roasted the red pepper. I was pleasantly surprised when they also included a spicy green pepper, which made my whole meal! The salad balanced it all out, and the dressing wasn’t too vinegary. Because of my friend’s appetizer plate combined with my entrée plate, they gave us a shitload of pita bread; had I known this beforehand, I would’ve told ‘em not to bring it! Note that they also have a belly dancer come around to dance ’round the table — twas kind of disctracting yet interesting at the sasme time! In this day and age — I give ‘em credit for a non-chain restaurant to having lasted so long, and I’d come again.

I don’t tend to crave Greek or Mediterranean food, but my boyfriend and I decided to try this place out when our first choice restaurant had a long wait– and we weren’t disappointed! We had the Lamb Meatballs as a starter, and it was delicious! The sauce with the yogurt were amazing together, and both paired beautifully with the meatball and pita bread. I just wish they served the dish with more pita bread and meatballs as we had some sauce leftover. Not wanting to waste the delicious sauce, we ate it with the complimentary bread which is also really good! Our entrée was the Combination Kebab Platter for Two. Maybe because we had an appetizer and loaded up on the free warm bread, but we couldn’t finish this dish– it was very filling! The Kebab platter was good, but we could’ve done without the beef– it was too tough and chewy. The chicken was good, but the real star was the lamb. It was cooked perfectly and had a delicious gamey flavor. Overall, Café Artemis is an «upscale» Mediterranean restaurant that serves good food, has friendly(though a bit slow) service, and nice modern décor.

This place was highly recommended by a friend and checked it out a few weeks ago. I got a chicken kebab and Turkish coffee. They brought the starter bread with butter(customized with garlic and a few Mediterranean spices). Though I don’t usually care for butter, I tired it and it was delish! The bread was nice and soft and delicious as well. My meal was good but not out of this world good. The coffee was decent… I didn’t care as much about the residue at the bottom of my coffee cup but that is what defines Turkish coffee… so that’s just that:-) Overall, it’s a place I recommend and would go back to again. PS: the outdoor seating option was great!

Came here for lunch last Tuesday. Fortunately we hit the tail end of the lunch crowd so there was ample seating available. Bread and spread: Better than your typical complimentary bread basket. I can’t exactly characterize the butter-like spread flavor-wise but it was subtle and tasty. Started out with the falafel. Although I haven’t tried much falafel in my eating expeditions this one didn’t taste as good as I’ve had in the past. The kebab combination platter was out of this world. Each protein was so tasty that I couldn’t pick a favorite out of all of them. Just flat out delicious. The service was on point and never got to the point where we had to flag them down. I would definitely eat here again.

My first time here on July 7th around 6p which was my BIRTHDAY was not so great. Had an amazing day and decided to come and end it on a good note. Which didn’t happen and regret choosing this place from my Unilocal bookmarks. Well I don’t know if I came on a bad night or what? It wasn’t busy and the restaurant only had a few tables. I ordered a white sangria and our waitress who was also making the drinks brings me back a red. Whatever I just drank it and didn’t say anything. Our appetizers came out and were delicious. Our entrees came out and were very disappointing. My Salmon Kebab was so bland. There wasn’t any salt on my whole plate and the same with my husbands chicken kebab. The appetizers were seasoned well so I don’t understand how my whole plate could be so bland. Also, the waitresses passed by numerous times and never asked if I wanted another drink. Water wasn’t filled at times needed. One of the waitresses overheard my husband talking about my birthday being that day and they didn’t do anything. We ordered the baked custard which was good but not amazing. I don’t think I’d go back or recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

I used to work in the Pruneyard, and I would go to Café Artemis for lunch a few times a week. First off, the food is awesome. Extremely delicious and tons of healthy options. I especially love the Portokal salad with salmon. Portions are generous and the food is very flavorful. The staff always remembered me when I came in after work and are just super friendly. I am mostly writing this review because we had a wonderful experience there this weekend for my sister’s surprise birthday party. There were 17 of us total, so they gave us the back room to ourselves which was so awesome. The room was ready a little early so no one had to wait outside. We pulled the curtains to the room then our wonderful waiter Benjamin took my sister around the back of the room to surprise her. It was such a great moment. We had a lot of people, had to arrange the tables in a certain way, and were a little loud a few times, but the staff was super wonderful and accommodating and just overall so great. They let us change the TV to the Warriors game and made suggestions from the menu. I can’t say enough great things about how great they were for the party, I could go on forever. I would not have done it anywhere else in the Bay Area. Thanks so much Café Artemis! :-) See you next year!

3rd times the charm! Last night I enjoyed the Lamb kabob platter: comes with tender chunks of lamb grilled just right, fluffy white rice and quinoa?(it was orange) and tastey. And a good portion of thinly sliced carrots, onions and string beans, all cooked al-dente. $ 17.95 My friend ordered the Salmon kabob platter and I sampled a piece of the salmon, it was moisty, tender and yummy. We shared a 2015 Guenoc Cabernet Sauvignon Lake County; good body, hint’s of blackberry, red cherry, clean finish, medium tanins. Good value at $ 30 for the bottle. it’s Greek food interpretated by Turkish cooks ! how do I know? my friend asked the waiter and he said they are Turkish. Décor: modern and clean Music: ok, not sure what kind. Customer service: very good. Noise level Saturday night: medium high. Festive atmosphere. Family ok.

I chose this Café Artemis this evening because it came up with 4 stars under vegetarian-friendly in the Campbell area, and also because it had outdoor seating. The atmosphere was pleasant with trees and festive outdoor lighting. The service was casual. Any server seemed willing to help with any table. I like this style. The food, however, was only mediocre. They don’t have a lot of vegetarian choices. I chose falafel, babaganoush and a salad. They were all so-so. The falafel flavor was somewhat bland and it wasn’t hot when it was served. It came with a small portion of tzatziki that didn’t have much flavor. I couldn’t even recognize the taste or sight of eggplant in the babaganoush and the salad had more dressing than I prefer. The salad did have good cucumbers. I forgot to ask if they use organic ingredients. The water quality was better than expected. They must have a fairly good filter and/or ice maker. The water tested at 58 ppm, which is much better than local water which is typically around 259 ppm. I might come back for the atmosphere, good service and a glass of their clean water, but I’m sorry to say I wouldn’t come back because of the food.

I love the Greek food at this place however the service is awful. I work in the Pruneyard and I’d come here way more often if they just hired more servers for the lunch rush. It always takes forever to order, get your food and even to pay since the servers really only service their own tables. Many times we’ve waited so long to pay and asked other servers to help give us our bill and would not receive any help with it. It’s horrible. Anyway, just know that if you come during lunch be ready for a 90min-2hour lunch. I haven’t tried anything here that wasn’t good. My favorite dish is the chicken shish kabob plate. They give you the good veggies, two types of delicious rice and really tender and flavorful chicken. I also really love their portikal salad with grilled chicken. Their chicken is so delicious and it’s rare that I can eat white meat but they just cook it so well. The portikal salad has tons of fruits(strawberries, oranges, etc), almonds, avocado and more. It’s great if you’re looking for something light and refreshing. The small size is perfect for me especially with chicken. Chicken wrap is also good here. It’s a little bit saucy. Expect a lot of carbs though as the wrap is thick and quite large. The fish wrap is also very good. The complimentary bread they give you with the Orange spread is so delicious. Their bread is really soft and many people are surprised at how soft and amazing it is! So Artemis management, you’d get a LOT more business if you just hired more servers. The food is amazing however I really can’t be taking 2 hour lunches every time I want to go downstairs for lunch. The lack of service isn’t really the fault of the servers especially when the restaurant is obviously understaffed during prime hours. Even when I ordered togo at this place and went to pick it up at the time they said it would be ready, I’ve ended up sitting in the restaurant for another 15−20mins to get my food. That was the last time I ordered to go from this place.

Came here for lunch at 2 with a friend. Decided to come to this place because it had good reviews and yummy looking photos. We were seated indoors. Their interior decorations was nice. We were given free bread(which I believe is made at the restaurant?) and seasoned butter. The sesame bread was pretty good but the butter was not to my liking. For our food we ordered lamb kofte wrap and babaganush that came with pita bread. The wrap was pretty bland. On the side they were supposed to have spicy tomato dip. I swear that«sauce» tasted just like prego spaghetti sauce. The babagunush is highly not recommended. If I ever do come back, I would have ordered the hummus instead. All the food is seasoned with the same seasoning spice. The salad, the meat, the butter, the babagunush… I wouldn’t mind it if the seasoning was tasty, but sadly I did not like it at all. Would highly recommend Yiassoo instead if you are in the area and want Mediterranean food.

Got a groupon and came here with my family and boyfriend. The parking here during dinner time is horrendous. There were so many people going in and out that it took us forever to finally park. After consulting with Unilocal we decided to get the appetizer sampler for 4 people(it’s not on the menu but you just need to ask!) as well as two combination plates. The waiter was great, my mom decided to be difficult but he was super patient in explaining things to her. The starting bread and butter was so, so, so good. The bread was hot and fresh out of the oven while the butter was flavored(I think with sun dried tomatoes?) . The sampler platter was the star of the show and my family had a great time trying all of the different appetizers including hummus, babaganoush, and tabbouleh. My personal favorite was the tzatziki. If we had only ordered the appetizer platter I would have given them 4 stars. However, the combination platter just wasn’t great. The meat was overcooked and while my whole family loves kebabs, none of us were excited about eating what came out. Maybe I’ll be back and have the appetizer sampler as my meal but with so many other restaurants available in the area, I doubt it.

Came here for lunch with a date on a Sunday right when it opened. The bread with butter was really good. An excellent starter. I ordered the Falafel wrap with a side of fries. First the fries were really good: crispy and seasoned perfectly. The wrap was really big with the right amount of falafel pieces, vegetables, and a spicy tomato sauce to wet the inside of the wrap. The meal filled me up and the service was fine, no complaint. I want to come back and try the meat dishes. I didn’t try since the night before I ate way to much meat and had to suppress myself :/ The outside seating was perfect since the weather was gorgeous and warm. California weather… We are spoiled rotten!!! Overall: Great food, Great price, Great service!
