Rafas! Rafas! Rafas! My favorite place on the Westside to fulfill my burritos cravings… actually there’s totally a chance they have other food here, but I’ve never ventured to that side of the menu, if it exists. But if it does exist I’m positive it’s AH-MAY-ZING! I do have a weird love for Canutillo. Such a sleepy town, but there’s so many great spots, like Rafas. From the outside it really doesn’t look like much and once you walk in you may still be a little less than impressed… and then you order a burrito! And it’s bigger than your hand! And tastes better than any burrito your mom(or friend’s mom) ever made you! And you start to swoon! And it’s all you can think about! And you order another knowing you won’t finish it, but you like knowing that you have an additional one waiting so patiently for you! You just can’t beat the burritos here! I definitely recommend getting the green salsa with your burrito because it’s so flavorful and adds just the right amount of spice. These burritos come jam packed, but no matter what I order I always have them add beans and cheese to it because it always just makes it out of this world good. I love all the burritos here, but I think the last couple of times I’ve gotten the picadillo… so does that mean it’s my favorite now? I don’t know… maybe…I’ll get back to you. I haven’t dined in(but you order and pick up in side… no drive-thru guys), but that’s really the only reason I’m not giving a 5 star rating. The inside isn’t that inviting unfortunately. I don’t know how to explain it, it just feels a little off. But honestly, you’re not going to care about the inside of Rafas once you bite into one of their delicious burritos so head that way now!

They take debit/credit cards now! Burritos here are unbeatable and cheap. $ 4.50 to $ 4.75 for a burrito big enough for two people. They’re really good. Tortillas are handmade! They’d have to be; I don’t know how else they would get a tortilla that enormous and fresh tasting. Watch out for the rajas burrito though. It gets very soggy quickly because the tortilla will soak up the chile’s wateriness.

This place is just as good as all of the other Rafa’s locations. I ordered the barbacoa burrito and I received a burrito the size of my leg stuffed FULL of meat. The tortillas are made fresh and they are big and thick enough to hold the test of lots of meat and meat juice. If you dine in you are also served chips and salsa. The salsa is very flavorful but the chips are hit or miss. The horchata is also made in house and it is delicious. You can also buy their homemade tortillas by the dozen if you so desire. This is the best burrito place in all of El Paso, if not all of Texas, if not all of the US.
