MedPost Urgent Care

We found out today there are two different main Doctors at Medpost. If you get the Asian lady Dr you are golden. She cares about you and really tries to treat your problem with care. If you get the Middle-​eastern Dr. RUN because he will be condescending and submit you or your 1.5 year child to very uncomfortable and unnecessary tests only to tell you nothing is wrong with her.

Very rude staff/​physicians. Worst doctors visit ever. Excessive wait time for absolutely no reason, even after we called ahead of time and they persuaded us to come in because there was no wait. Never coming back.

Favorite place to take my son for urgent matters. The front receptionist is always nice and very professional. Makes me know that the company really does care about their patients… The medical assistants, doctors and staff are amazing! I wish this place could be my sons primarily doctor office. Thank you everyone there. You’re awesome and very much appreciated.

I am now a fan of Medpost! Super easy, convenient and quick! the doctor and nurse are super friendly and knowledgable. They spend a lot of time with you and are eager to answer all your questions and supply you with all the information you need.

My Son who is six months had a really bad dry cough. I looked in my surrounding areas for a urgent care and open on Sundays. I came across Med Post The front desk clerk Jimmy was so great and pleasant to deal with he greeted me we were the first ones in. Nurse Anh was so knowledgeable and nice to us and was sympathetic. When Dr. Tai walked in she immediately diagnosed my son and it turned out to be crop cough she gave my son a small dose of medicine and he immediately felt much better no joke. She prescribed his medication and we were in out within 30 minutes I highly recommend this urgent care. 10 stars

I’d never visited this Urgent Care facility before (S/​E of the Cerritos Performing Arts Center), but the number of 4– and 5-​star reviews convinced me to check them out… and I had the pleasant surprise of being able to ‘pre-​register’ on-​line (so no fumbling to keep the pen from rolling off the clip-​board while fishing-​out my insurance info in the waiting area).
«Jimmy» at the front desk was more-​than-​professional — he was friendly AND efficient! Jimmy also handled my x-​rays proficiently.
P.A. Kendra Cavazo was so easy to talk to, and very thorough in her evaluation of my ‘state’ — reviewing the freshly-​processed x-​rays before delivering a tentative opinion — and noting that she’d have the x-​rays reviewed by a radiologist, and personally contact me with any different findings. She also cross-​checked my current prescription… finding a potentialy-​dangerous adverse interaction with her first-​choice medication — and guiding her to a safer choice.

I was really impressed during my first visit here. I had a horrible experience at different urgent care in the past but my daughter’s doctor advised me to bring her in to MedPost. The staff, including Dr. Tai, were all extremely friendly, efficient and explained everything thoroughly. The office was also very clean and there was barely a wait on a Saturday afternoon. Would definitely recommend this urgent care.

Came here on a Wednesday, 7pm for what I suspected was a fractured ring finger.
Confirmed.
Intake was efficient, the wait relatively short (15 – 20 minutes) and Dr. Tai was as pleasant and professional as can be.
Facility is clean, plenty of parking and a couple pharmacies to select from in the same plaza (CVS or Ralphs).
She even followed up several days later to make sure I saw a specialist.
In short, Dr. Tai’s demeanor is precisely the type I would want as my wife’s OBGYN or our PCP.

Our doctors office was to booked to work us in so we decided to try this facility and see for ourselves. We were so impressed at how fast and efficient everyone in the clinic was. Treatment started working right away and 2 days later we got a call to check up on the progress and let us know the labs hadn’t come in yet. Just can’t say enough on how impressed we were. Everything was terrific and we will definitely go there again. Thank u to all.

I always dread going to the doctor but my experience at Medpost went so smoothly that I will definitely make this my «go-​to» when I’m not feeling well.
Was greeted promptly upon arrival and after filling out my paperwork was taken almost immediately to meet with the nurse. The nurse (didn’t catch her name) was very attentive and sweet while taking my vitals and listing my symptoms. Only waited a few minutes afterwards, to see the DR, and believe her name was Dr. Tai. She was excellent, I got the impression that she really cares about her patients and she didn’t seem rushed or bothered by my questions.
I might have caught them during a slow time, but I was surprised how quick and easy my visit was. Best of all I feel I received awesome care and quick and effective treatment. Very happy with my visit!

I visited this urgent care two weeks ago… everyone was so nice and helpful. I have never experienced this. Ever! Close to home, didn’t really have to wait long. Helped me with my allergic reaction and quick prescription to my local pharmacy. Great people and great service. They even followed up to see how I was doing a week later. Highly recommend this urgent care location! thank you!

I asked before I had to pay if they were going to send me a bill. They said no. Months later, I get a bill sent home saying I owe $ 255 dollars.

This urgent care center was wonderful! I was short of breath and fatigued due to a cough that I had for over a week that developed before an out-​of-​town trip to the mountains over the Christmas holiday. Well, UCLA Urgent Care was too far and I would have had to pay for parking (Marina del Rey) and PIH Urgent Care was jam packed full of people. I really needed to see a doctor so I called around and asked about the wait times and MedPost told me to come right in! There were no others there (they did admit to being busy earlier) and it was close to closing. The doctor was quick to meet with me, very thorough, and kind. I was out in less than 30 minutes with prescriptions and a doctors note and made a quick recovery. I highly recommend this place.
***one thing, they said they accepted my insurance but I got a bill afterwards and it was NOT a covered urgent care by anthem blue cross. So be careful and call your insurance first with their information to confirm!***

I liked this place. I went Sunday morning and I didn’t have to wait too long, may be 50 minutes with no appointment.
The place is clean, easy to park, friendly staff and the Dr. took the time to talk to me and explain my treatment.
Without any doubts I would go back if I have to. I have been in other Urgent cares in Lakewood and Long Beach and this was by far the best one.

I am so happy to find an urgent care I like and am happy to drive from downey to this location. I first came here on 3÷16÷15 I arrived right at 8 so I wouldn’t have to wait. The receptionist was so nice and polite. Filled out my paperwork and minutes later was walked to the back to take vitals by a young man I forgot his name. But he was very soft spoken, he took down all my symptoms/​info and I could already tell I made I good choice coming to this location. Minutes later I was seen by Dr. Ahmad, he was so great! I immediately felt at ease, relief would soon be on the way! he diagnosed me with a sinus infection and post nasal drip (no voice had to call out of work) prescribed me some medication including an inhaler incase my asthma flared up and even offered a 3 day doctors note telling me I needed to rest. I did not take the note but I should have as I was back the following Sunday when my voice was gone again and my cough had worsen though my phlegm and sinus pressure was gone. Again no wait (4pm Sunday) I was seen by Dr. Tai who was just as great and very genuine. My own fault for not resting I ended up with laryngitis which I was given some cough medicine to help me through the night. I believe two days later I received a call from Dr. Tai asking how I was doing. Never not even at a primary care office has a doctor called me to check in on a bad cold! I was blown away that she took the time to check in on me. Even over the phone I felt cared for. I let her know about a few of my concerns and she gave me some recommendations. I work crazy hours and never have time to see a primary care physician. So I will be back here if I find myself in need.
I highly recommend this urgent care office the entire staff is amazing! Everyone needs a place like this when you are feeling horrible.

My only other experience is using an ER in Torrance CA. It was for my son’s split open chin from falling off high monkey bars a few years back. And that was a terrible visit there.
Fortunately (for us, but unfortunately for Unilocal), we don’t visit the ER/​urgent care enough to be able to rate a bunch of these but…
Our experience here has been great, in the 2 times we have visited.
My son was sick for 3 days in a row with high fever… Ended up he had an ear infection and minor tear in ear wall (or something to that effect in doctor language).
We went on FRIDAY THE 13^th at 3:00 and there was only 1 person before us. I also made an «appt.» (I use quotation marks because apparently it’s not a guarantee, whatever that means) but Jimmy at the front desk said it didn’t matter but was great to have just in case. He quickly added in our insurance and we went to a room within 15 minutes.
Dr. Schumacher (sp?) was super attentive as was the nurse who help us directly before. In fact it was a little funny that my almost 3 year old (that came with us) kept shouting to the doctor in an excited way, «Hey! You turned into a man! That’s magic!!!» because the nurse has accidentally said, «I’ll be right back.» But I digress.
That’s when he gave us the diagnosis of ear infection and took culture sample for which bacteria it was. Meanwhile he prescribed stuff and answered my questions on my concerns of how productive our weekend would be with said prescriptions. :). Etc.
What was icing on the (medical) cake was that the doctor called me on TUESDAY morning and asked to see how my son was, and told me which bacteria it was (even though it was all jibberish to me, I played along :)). My kids’ own regular doctor doesn’t even do that! In fact I couldn’t even get a check up appt with our primary, so I walked into MedPost AGAIN on Monday after my son’s school because of this reason (and had an EQUAL experience as stated above!!).
So all in all, I recommend this place… or do I (enter maniacal laugh here)?? Maybe everyone will find this little medical gem and fill up the waiting room :(hehe just kidding, when it comes to sick kiddos/​loved ones/ourselves…we ALL need a place like this to get our butts in and out and back home in our PJS with OJ or whatever else to feel better again!

Not the most convenient but they accept my insurance.
The waiting area was EMPTY around 630 pm on a Friday night. They’re open until 8 so it’s great for people who work, get stuck in traffic etc. Pretty spacious, plenty of reading material, clean and bright.
Seen within minutes of check-​in, vitals done quickly, doc came in, asked a few questions, and sent the rx. Boom! Beats an ER wait any day!
CVS and Ralph’s are in the same plaza so sending prescriptions is easy and accessible.

Dr. Ahmad is the worst physician I have ever seen. Not knowledgable at all and had a condescending attitude. I went in for an ankle sprain and he stood there dumbfounded and didn’t know what it was. I kept telling him that I rolled my ankle playing basketball, but he wouldn’t listen to me. He kept accusing me of doing something else to it, like putting a hot compress on it. He’s an urgent care doc and he’s never seen a sprained ankle before?!
While I was getting x-​rays I saw him typing on the computer for a long while. When he came back into the exam room he was much calmer and confident about my condition, basically telling me that it was a sprain and to stay off of it and ice it like all of the websites say. Surfing WebMD, were we?
It’s sad, because the location is very convenient for me and I like the staff, esp. Jimmy, but I can’t tolerate incompetent care. For your own good do not solicit!

Thank you Unilocal!My usual urgent care closed a few months ago, so when I had an issue this morning, I used Unilocal to find a new one. I was happy when I found this one in Cerritos on the northwest corner of South and Carmenita. It’s been open since April and isn’t very busy yet.
They have a DO and MD and their LVN (Chris) is the best! The waiting area is very clean, comfortable and everything looks new. The exam rooms are comfortable and everything looks clean, new, and well maintained.
It’s right by Ralph’s and CVS and they can quickly send over prescriptions so you don’t have to go very far to pick them up (which is nice when you’re not feeling well). It’s a really nice location and will be my new urgent care going forward.
I was in and out within an hour. Very speedy service!
