Bad job on my 7yr son by assistants! Do not recommend…

better business bureau. this guy needs to be shut down! torturing kids. how do you sleep at night, you sick creature!!! do notttt take your kids here. he needs to be mentally evaluated. he has been on the news. leaves bruises and scratches on children. child abuse!!! you need to lose your license and be thrown in jail!!! what kind of so called doctor doesnt allow a parent in the room???

DEAR PARENTS,
IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR KIDS DO NOT BRING THEM TO DOVE’S OFFICE. IF YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF AN INTELLIGENT PERSON DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO DOVE’S TORTURE ROOM. My son has yet to fully recover mentally from the torture he endured his first and last time being in that facility. My wife and I are still upset with ourselves to this day. And this took place In February of this year. All the poor reviews Dove has received are not to be taken lightly. Save yourself, your family and (most importantly) your child/​children the frustration and nightmares and go see another dentist. One that has more patience, understanding and genuinely cares about helping kids. Do your part as Caring Parents and find another dentist.

Because of our insurance, my 6 year old son was referred to this office. I Googled this place, before my wife and I took our son in. By reading all of your reviews, I decided to talk with the doctor about not strapping my son to a chair and if my wife or I could stay in the room during the procedure. The staff was great and told me that they would talk to the doctor. Two minutes later she told me the doctor said «No» and that I would have to sign a waiver for them to strap my son to a chair.
I won’t let my son down, and don’t want him to have the same experience that I had in USSR, because until now I don’t like (hate) dentist.
I told them to cancel my appointment, and I took my son to a different dental office, where my wife and I were able to be with our son the entire time.
One star for you guys, because you need to make a pleasant experience for kids and not treat them like they are prisoners.

Dove doesn’t even deserve 1 star! He is a jerk and SHOULD NOT BE A PEDIATRIC DENTIST!!! My daughter went in to get sealants and she was scared and crying. The whole time dove was in the room with her he didn’t try to explain anything or talk her down. he just huffed and puffed about how he can’t do it with the way she is. THEN HE WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM WITHOUT SAYING A THING AND NEVER CAME BACK!!! I absolutely despise this guy and wish he loses his license and business. Dove, if you’re reading this, you’re horrible for this position. Learn how to have patience, you’re working with scared kids. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STAY AWAY!!!

I decided to give this dentist a chance despite the bad reviews, boy do I regret that. I took my
5 year old in because he needed 2 baby teeth extracted. Dr. Dove informed me I could not be in the room during the procedure, which I found strange since my son’s previous dentist allowed it. Dr. Dove also informed me that instead of the «laughing» gas they chose to use a cocktail of sedatives. I also found this strange and made me think they just didn’t want to deal with crying or upset children. We scheduled the procedure for later in the week. I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling I got after leaving the dentist. So I made a few calls and found out that most pediatric dentist’s allow at Least 1 parent in the room and that the gas is preferred since it wears off quicker. Luckily I was able to find such a dentist who used the laughing gas and allowed me to stay with my son during the procedure. My son didn’t even fuss. Sadly Dr. Dove seems to care more about getting something done quickly and easier on him and his staff then to deal with children and their parents.

When I first came to dr dove in Lancaster I would say was good. My daughter wasn’t as scared to go anymore. But now I would have to say IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I have gone there 2 times for my son and it’s horrible… 1) it was my daughter and sons appointment well my daughters appointment was at 9:00 she did not get seen for sadation til 11:45 almost 12:00 and then they couldn’t see my son and his appointment was at 11;00 so that was a fail since around that time my son was already cranky for waiting for so long. 2) I make an earlier appointment for my son the next time and his appointment was at 9:00 AGAIN he didn’t get his medication for sedation til 11:30 and he got cranky AGAIN AND THREW THE BIGGEST FIT. And all the front can tell me is to calm my son down. How in the h*** am I suppose to calm him down when he’s been waiting so patiently for his time!!! So we ended up leaving. Now I call them back and I speak to the the nicer lady and tell her my situation so she rescheduled me for an earlier time which was at 8 which was perfect. Well my son gets sick and I cant make it to the appointment and they call saying that it’s not right that I didn’t call ahead of time to cancel how would I know my son would get sick? He prob got sick cause he knew he would have to wait another 4 or more hours to get seen again… Telling me it’s important to keep an appointment after confirming. Ummm excuse me it’s IMPORTANT TO KEEP A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT AND GET SEEN AT THE TIME YOU SCHEDULE ME!!!

I have taken 3 kids there.
The oldest kid was 13, she needed a root canal on a permanent tooth, and so they told me I needed to take her somewhere else. They had 2 places only to recommend, but neither of those 2 places took our insurance. But this wasn’t a big deal.
Second kid had no cavities and needed no work, she loved it.
Third kid, wow. 11 cavities (twin of the child above) and 3 extractions were needed. On a 7 year old. OK, so stupid me, I didn’t ask for a second opinion. They made me sign a bunch of consent forms to allow them to strap her down during the procedure. Also, they don’t allow parents in the room during the procedure. They assured me this was normal, and, once again, stupid me, I didn’t ask for a second opinion.
So we went and she got all of the work done. They filled cavities, yanked teeth out, put crowns on, and put spacers in. My kid was traumatized, but understandably so for that volume of work. But after she sobered up from the happy juice she told me that the reason she was so upset was not because her mouth hurt but because the dentist yelled at her. Seriously, my heart broke.
She kept complaining of pain near a crown and we thought it would go away as she healed. 4 weeks later, the crown came off and took half the tooth with it. Then the spacer next to it fell out. We took her back in and they said that she must have been picking at it. I never noticed her picking at it, but shouldn’t a crown be able to stay on even if it had been picked at? Mine stay on when I eat steak or chew bubble gum. But, of course they couldn’t do anything to fix it that day except prescribe her Tylenol with codeine, perfect for giving my daughter right before school… yeah right! So as we were waiting for her next appointment, another crown and another spacer fell out! So what happened doc, was she picking at that one too?!
I now have an appointment for this one at the same dentist I found for the first child who needed the root canal. They don’t strap the kids down and they let the parents be in the room so I know nobody will be yelling at my daughter this time.
Goodbye, Dr. Dove. I hope you get your business straightened out so other children don’t have to be traumatized the way mine was.
Oh, I almost forgot, they make you sign up for arbitration so you can’t sue them for malpractice later. Now I understand why. Very clever, Dove, very clever.

My son has ADHD, so typically we try to find a dentist that’s patient and understanding. I’ve been to several dentist offices in the past, and let me just add that this office was beyond amazing. They answered all of my questions, took the time to explain the procedure and made sure I was comfortable with everything before they proceed to do any work on him. My son AND daughter have now been moved to this location!
Definitely will be coming here for further dentist appointments!

The only dentist I’ve been able to take my kids where they weren’t afraid and were able to get the treatment they needed!

First time I went to Dr. Dove’s was last year, and I really loved the office and the doctor — everyone was attentive to my 3-​year old, doctor was very nice and professional, he suggested we do the cleaning if my child is not scared. I sat in the dentist chair and she sat on my lap to make her feel more secure. She was watching a cartoon on TV, so she didn’t feel any stress from the cleaning.
This year we went for a check up and doctor Dove said she has good hygiene, but the X-​rays revealed she had some cavities. After making an appointment for treatment, we left. A couple of weeks later we got a bill from the insurance company stating that the cleaning was done. I went to the office, they checked paperwork, apologized and said they’ll do the cleaning after treatment.
For the treatment the kids are not supposed to eat or drink after midnight for the sedative to work and not upset their stomach. OK, but the appointment was at 9:45. So we kept our kid up until midnight, let her eat just before going to bed, and still she was hungry the next morning. When my husband took her to the office, they had to wait until 11 am just to drink sedative. That’s an hour and 15 minutes waisted!!!
The office doesn’t have Wi-​Fi or any entertainment for parents while they are waiting for the kids to be treated. Yes, parents are not allowed in the treatment room.
So after my child got her sedation drink, they waited another 20 minutes for it to work. Guess what? It didn’t really. She was alert. She is a brave little girl, so she didn’t cry and cooperated. She told us later she was hurt, but didn’t cry.
After all this waiting and mess with cleaning bill, my husband is all stressed, so when they told him the final news he just laughed: you wanna know? Dr. Dove doesn’t work there anymore! Apparently he opened another office and is too busy to work at Chatsworth branch!
My husband liked the female doctor there though.
After the treatment the sedative kicked in and my child slept until 3:30 pm. After that she was back to happy healthy kid.
Oh, eah, and instead of fillings on the front teeth they put crowns. They said the filling will not stay there. IDK, maybe for kids its true, but my filling stays in my front teeth for 10+ years just fine.
