JCPenney

For years the Ford City area was not a place you would go after dark. However, it seems that recently businesses are putting money back into the area and it is beginning to pay off. JCPenney is no exception. Every time I’ve been there the store is impeccably clean, they have a large selection, and best part is: there’s no one else there!

I swear to god that I’ve reviewed this JCP before, I think it got lost in the Unilocal universe.
Anyway…yes, it is in Ford City… yes, Ford City isn’t that great of a place… yes, the neighborhood has changed… yes, lots of the store surrounding it are empty.
If you can get past all of that… go here. Honestly, this store has the BEST customer service out of any department store I’ve been too. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful, and it is natural, not fake. They have a great selection of clothes, workout attire, coats, and dresses. Their bed & bath stuff is wonderful — best towels ever. The prices are amazing, and there are always coupons.
I feel like JCP has revamped the training of their employees. Top of the line customer service!

I have noticed the younger staff talk way to much! They make the lines take for ever, if it pertained to the purchases that were being made that would be one thing, but on several occasions I have just heard nonsense. Everyone is friendly and I like the selection of clothing for the whole family. Lines can be long, especially during the holidays and whenever they have a good sale going on.

Very, very disappointed in the jewelry department here.
Some employees in this department — sure, they can be helpful, some of them seem that they want you to get the hell out of their sight, some of them are possibly unhappy with themselves — don’t take it out on the customer who is there to make a purchase and provide business. Your job is to assist the customer, is it not? Are you actually getting paid to avoid us customers?
My boyfriend visited a counter knowing exactly what he wanted, but the item was locked in a case. He stood unattended for about 15 minutes while at least a single employee noticed his presence; a tall, stocky, red/​copper haired older woman in her 50s or 60s — you should be ashamed of yourself. Nice move trying to pretend you didn’t notice anyone standing there. (The guy can’t be missed, 6’2, football build, stern face)
Next round, my turn (several hours later) I go in on my own and walk up to the counter in front of the item I want, again, locked up and I cannot retrieve without employee assistance. I stood there while being noticed by SEVERAL employees but absolutely no service. I wasn’t attended to for about 15 minutes as well. I am a very easygoing and patient person, but this really boiled my blood and blew a fuse underneath the skullcap.
I was ready to scream and holler, making sure a manager got my attention but I kept my composure. :)
Utterly inexcusable. I could MOST DEFINITELY understand if business was heavy, there was an emergency situation, etc. but there is NO reason for this sort of BULL**** customer service.
I will not be returning to the jewelry department at this JCPenney, PERIOD.
I will gladly spend my money at another JCPenney location.

I found a necklace that I wanted to purchase as a gift online and called the store and the sales associate, Miss Thomas, made sure she put my name on it as it was the only one left. I came in the next day and she knew who I was and was great about making sure I was happy with my purchase. The heart pendant that I bought for my niece was beautiful and I was very happy with my experience.

I checked it every time when I was in the mall. Yes, their brands are limited, but most of the time, the price is so good that you just can not get out barehanded. I bought brand new strafford shirts, Joshef abbound shirts for 5 bucks, izod sweatshirt for $ 17, izod pants for $ 10 each, jcp men’s 100% wool blazer for $ 24 just name a few this Jan. plus their return policy is nice.
Hope they carry more brands in the future.

They have a wide collection here. I wasn’t able to find the items I need due to my common size. The staff was also helpful when I needed to find things. Might come back if they offer what I am looking for…

Let me CLARIFY this review. This review is ONLY for the JC Penney Furniture store in Ford City! The furniture store is a stand alone store and is NOT physically connected the the big JC Penney store.
The staff at the JC Penney store are excellent. I purchased a bed there. Staff was expert and professional. They honored my request to browse uninterrupted. When I was ready, they came and assisted me. I was finished in no time! I am really enjoying my bed. The mattress is firm and comfortable and the cost was appropriate for the quality. Delivery was excellent.

JC Penney has great staff! The People that work there are kind and curteous! Most of the time. LOL! Its like a second home to work there!
