First off, I have to mention that their wraps are practically the size of my head. If there’s one thing I like, it’s food that makes you question«Can I even fit that in my stomach?» We all like some challenges. Dream big, eat big yo. I probably shouldn’t say that to the number on the scale, but whatever, I ain’t even mad. Chicken schwarma was pretty tasty and fresh and they didn’t skimp on the chicken or veggies. The falafel let me down, it wasn’t cooked thoroughly and had a very bland taste. The tahini sauce was the only thing that made it edible. Baklava was okay but it could have used more syrup. Overall, I would maybe be back but just for the wraps.

I’m giving this place 2 stars because the chicken is passable. The steak shawarma which is my fav just absolutely sucks here. Over seasoned to the point that I can’t taste the meat! The rice is dry. A total waste of $ 30 that I spent eating here. The baba ghanoosh is decent but the small portion is extremely small. Long story short, over priced shawarma, skimpy baba ghanoosh portions, and the chicken wrap is decent. Heads up, bring a winter coat because this place is not properly heated, in fact, as I’m writing this, my toes are about to fall off!!! Lol

First time here, great experience. Enjoyed the Grilled Shrimp Wrap and would get it again. Fresh and flavorful. Clean, stylish place. Sorry I didn’t take picture! Next time! :cD

Service was extremely slow, like the cooks literally looked like they were taking their sweet time. There was no sense of urgency to get food out in a timely manner. Waited almost half an hour for hummus and a combination platter. The meat and vegetables were drowning in dry herbs to the point where my husband actually choked. This place is terrible and I would never go back or recommend to anyone.

OMG. I went back and had the grilled chicken on a salad. This is the best chicken I have eaten in my life. And I eat a lot of Mediterranean restaurants. I had their Tahini and hot sauce as well and guess what Pita Inn? These guys have got you beat in the Tahini and hot sauce department. They also are friendly! Now I must try everything.

My favorite is the Chicken Shawarma platter which comes with grilled vegetables and salad. You order and wait for food to be cooked and because nothing is pre-made, the grilled vegetables here are so juicy. The deserts are unique and awesome. I like the lamb here too, next time planning to try the steak

They. they…put salsa on my Shawarma… on dried steak on rice… that was it. Literally nothing else in the box. That is not sharwama by a long shot. I haven’t tried anything else and I highly doubt I will cause how do you mess up Sharwama this bad?

THISISONEOFTHEBESTMEDITERRANEANRESTAURANTSINTHEAREA! I used to eat at the one in Bridgeport but moved up north and was sad that I would not be around a Zaytune… until they built this lovely gem! They make the food fresh every time you order and the seasonings are PERFECT. The service is amazing, there is someone always welcoming us in and are very good at recommending different entrees. Also, you get 1 free wrap after 10… what’s not to love about getting a free wrap! Definitely worth the visit

Review for a delivery order. One item from the order was missing. They offered to deliver it later which I accepted. Sadly, the food that did arrive was freezing cold and was very obviously sitting for some time either in the driver’s car or before it left the restaurant. Overall a disappointing experience and a mistake I won’t make again.

This place has really good food. Their only downfall is the portions are so small compared to other Mediterranean restaurants I’ve been to. I don’t mind paying their prices but the amount of food doesn’t compare to other restaurants. This is my 2nd time getting food thinking, I’ll give them a second chance but failed. I probably wont be coming back to this place unless its my last option.

Don’t go here. You won’t like the incredibly fresh ingredients, with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and crunchy onions and radish. You also probably won’t like the tender, and well seasoned, chicken or beef schwarma. When those things are wrapped in a light grilled naan type bread with their home made hummus, it creates the type of carefully prepared, non-processed food that is really popular these days. You don’t want to be popular or trendy. The falafel is crispy on the outside, but tender and not dry inside. Not greasy either, which is my major complaint with most falafel. You’ll probably be happier with the all American fare at Wendy’s down the street. We’ve only been here 6 times, so far, since they opened this location and will keep going back. If you ignore my request and still go, make sure to try the red pepper hummus, it’s spectacular.

Solid takeout Mediterranean cuisine. The tahini sauce was delicious as was the hummus. Had a grilled chicken wrap and half was enough for lunch when paired with the fries. Good addition to the neighborhood.

The food is delicious and we enjoyed the chicken shawarma platter and lamb salad. We haven’t tried the wraps. The lentil soup had a lot of flavor. The desserts were just ok with the blakava our favorite. The place is spacious and well lit. We will definitely come again.

Zaytune is great! The herb fries are outstanding(make sure to get the garlic toum sauce with them) and everything else I’ve had has been very flavorful. The portions are huge, so come hungry. The place is byob and the service is nice and friendly.

In the mood for something«light», I suggested to my friend that we look for a Mediterranean restaurant for Friday dinner. She mentioned that this location opened up recently, so we decided to try it out. Walking in, we didn’t know what to expect. First impression, it kind of had a Chipotle or Noodles & Co., feel. The menu is large and against the wall, and when you place your order, they give you a large plastic cup for your water/soft drink to serve yourself your favorite fountain drink. We had read this was BYOB, so they gave us a cork and told us to also grab some wine cups. Most of them were also plastic, but I grabbed one of the 2 glass ones they had up there. So that was kinda cool. We both ordered their grill platters. I had the Braised Lamb and my friend had the Kafta Kabob. They had given us a 20 minute wait time, but the food came out like in 5 minutes! So far so good. The platters come with a small side salad, which was ok. I enjoyed the olives. I tried the Braised Lamb, and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a fan. It was too salty for my liking. I’m not sure if the saltiness from the lamb stuck because I felt the basmati rice was a tad salty as well. The grilled vegetables were delicious and the portions of food were pretty large. I think their pricing matches well with the amount of food. My friend said she really enjoyed her Kafta Kabob and the rest of her meal. Maybe it was an off-day for the braised lamb? Overall, the food was just okay. I was originally hoping to take leftovers for lunch the next day, but I just had them take the rest of my unfinished meal. The staff were friendly and they weren’t being pushy when it was time for them to start closing. I’m willing to try them out again, but probably not any time soon.

Overall a great place. I had the chicken shawarma grill which comes with rice, a veggie kabob, salad and flat bread. I also got a side of baba ganoush, which also comes with flat bread. Both items were tasty and the chicken was very flavorful and super tender. My one minor complaint was it is a little bit pricy. I spent almost $ 19 for lunch for two items without a drink. I would recommend getting the sandwich for lunch to save a few bucks. I will be back to try some other items.

Let me preface this by saying I am Zaytune’s #1 fan. I’ve been a customer at their Bridgeport location since they opened there. I was so excited to finally have a location on the north side! The good: grill wraps are excellent. I think their braised lamb grill wrap is one of my top 5 favorite foods in Chicago. The not so good: very disappointed in the serving size of their baba gannoush. The small was literally a 2 tablespoon serving. Again — I have had this multiple times at their Bridgeport location and it was not worth the $ 3.95. Fattoush salad — another usual winner — was too chunky and too heavy on the tomatoes and radishes. Did not have that great taste that the one in Bridgeport has. Given that it is just newly opened, I hope they work the kinks out.

Where do I start… one of my favorite middle eastern restaurants in Chicago! And thank god they opened one closer to the north side! Red pepper hummus is the best in town! A small is a perfect amount for two to share. The chicken, steak, & lamb have an incredible rosemary infused taste. I get the chicken shawarma wrap and it is big enough that I have left-overs for lunch the next day.(If you know you will have leftovers, ask for sauce on the side so that the wrap doesn’t get too soggy.) The fries are a must because of the kalamata olive dipping sauce. My favorite thing about Zaytune is that the make the bread in house. Yummmm! I found street parking in front during the evening with no problem. Super friendly staff. I will definitely visit again!!! Thank you Zaytune!
