This is probobly the worst bbq that i have ever had. Pork came on an oversized cold soggy hamburger bun. Was wet mushy bread. The pork was cold as well. At one point i did taste some smoke in the meat but that was quickly overrun by the ½ gallon of sauce that was on my sandwich. Wifes sandwich was exactly the same. The potato salad was nothing special as it tasted like it was purchased from the store.

Oh… my…yum! I came here on a whim with my brother and his girlfriend. We are a pretty sharing bunch and decided to order half the menu and split it. Everything wa s amazing!!! The meat was tender and flavorful, portions were generous and the home made sauces were fantastic! It was difficult to choose just one(good thing you can buy extra and take it home)! The owner came out and talked to us while we ate, very friendly and knowledgeable about BBQ. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will certainly be back for more soon!

Both the brisket and pulled pork are amazing. He makes his own BBQ sauce. Has great baked beans. I’ll definitely eat there again. Truly a Memphis BBQ Pitmaster.

Great pork sandwich with huckleberry sauce. My kiddos loved their beans and we really enjoyed talking with the owner. Friendly atmosphere and wonderful food!

Always my first lunch stop when we are in CDA, the sample platter makes for a large meal with some left over for a late night snack(really… a whole other meal)! The Wasabi Coleslaw is fantastic… I’ve changed my recipe at home to try and recreate it — yum! The selection of sauces is great, get the white sauce on the chicken.

Full disclosure: I live in the South and know a little about great barbecue. After reading the glowing recommendations here, I thought either Blue Smoke is the barbecue Mecca of the Great Northwest, or those employees sure can write and blow smoke better than any reviewers I’ve ever read. Now that I’ve visited, let me assure you – it must be the LATTER. Maybe we just picked the wrong day, a Monday. I shared the the sampler platter with my girlfriend so we could try a little of all those specialties others raved about. My brother had the tri-tip, his wife ordered the pork sandwich. Maybe SOME of it would have been decent – when it was cooked two days earlier. Today, it was dry, re-heated, tasteless and beyond bad. And I’m not talking about just one dish. Give these folks five stars for consistency – it was ALL beyond horrible. Sometimes you can dress up bad barbecue with a good sauce. Not here, at least not today. First, although they list and boast about six or seven sauces, only three were available. The best one was just a notch below Open Pit out of a jar. None of the three was tasty, unique or special. All were watered-down, apparently so they’d have SOME sauce to offer before running out completely? 5-stars for this potato salad, Katie D? Seriously? Guess you didn’t see yours ladeled out of a container from Sysco where they acquired what they served to us. The owner may well be charming, we didn’t meet him, but if our visit was any indicator, his product is something I’d be ashamed to serve, much less charge for. Unilocal has steered us to some great places in this beautiful region… but Blue Smoke ain’t one of them. Do your taste buds a favor and realize whoever gives this place five stars must either be connected to the joint, or they’re pulling your leg far better than the pulled pork on the menu here. Don’t waste your time or your money!

We went to a local brewery(Madbomb Brewery) in Hayden, Idaho. We found out Blue Smoke delivered to this location after hours. I ordered the tri tip sandwich and coleslaw… 5 stars! My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the potato salad(some cornbread was thrown in) 5 stars as well! So good! We chatted with the owner and he was soooo friendly! Wish we lived in Idaho!

I don’t see what all the fuss is about. Tried the Tri-tip sandwich and cornbread side. The bun was very dry, the meat was cubed cut which I found odd. I feel it should be thin sliced for a sandwich. Didn’t have a lot of good smoked flavor. Sauce was average. For a $ 10 sandwich I was not impressed at all.

I stopped in to see what the buzz was about this new BBQ truck in CDA. I wanted to sample as much of the menu as I could so I went for the sampler platter. The star of the plate was the Tri-tip with the pulled pork a close second. If you are in the area on Sat I was told they also have brisket available. Do your taste buds a favor and make this spot park of your next CDA beach or Tubs Hill outing. I promise you won’t regret it and would be very surprised if you don’t become a repeat customer like I will be.

I love culinary surprises and the latest surprise comes in a northern Idaho warehouse parking lot. The best, most succulent barbecue in the region is served up fresh in a small trailer tucked beneath two flapping US and USMC flags. Look for the flags and then look to be blown away — tritip, brisket, burntend, pulled pork, cornbread, and the list goes on. Try one of these great dishes and add these coordinates to your GPS, because you’ll be coming back all summer long. Hooah! (Credit/debit cards accepted)
