Driving though town from out of state and we we’re craving a Vietnamese sandwiches so I googled and found this place. My sandwich was GREAT, it really hit the spot. The have kolaches which is awesome bc we love our kolaches down in Texas… it was a bit random but they were soo good and the gluten free bread was sooo soft. Lady running the place was very nice and we had a good chat about Texas kolaches. :)

If I could give this less the 1, this place would receive it. Service was slow, waitress was terribly rude, and one part of the order cane out wrong even after I repeated it multiple times. They gave barely any meat in the noodle bowl, maybe one tiny piece sliced into 6 slivers. Do NOT recommend.

The BEST gluten free donuts! However, do not go if you are in a hurry. I just waited 15 minutes(2nd person in line) and had to leave without them. This has happened numerous times.

Holy crap! If you have any issues with gluten them go here. Donuts are gluten free and almost all dishes are gluten free! I don’t have to eat gluten free but my wife does. When I tried the donuts and kolach that she order, it tasted completely normal. Definitely try this place if you have celiacs. The chef, LeLe?, and her daughter have celiac so she’s extra careful with food prep and cross contamination.

I used to go here all the time, both at the former Old Colorado City location & the current Union location. I live north, so was happy when they moved near Briargate, even though the place is tiny & cramped. I have probably eaten here in total 25 – 30 times, often just getting take out. Unfortunately, after years of eating here, I walked in one day & the owner Youn, was visible in the kitchen(they have saloon type doors that were open) & I saw her sneeze while preparing food & not cover her mouth. I never went back. Prior to that incident they would have rec’d a 4 star rating for the quality of the food, 1 star less than 5 due to the ambiance & the loud, rude owner. The food made up for the negatives. The vegetarian Bo Bhia is heavenly & the peanut sauce fantastic! I didn’t even mind paying extra for extra peanut sauce. The problem with this place, at both locations is that often much of the menu was unavailable. That was a consistent problem for years. The owner is committed to fresh food & takes much pride in her food, which is why they often didn’t half the menu available. But, since that is her MO, why not make the menu shorter & limit it to what you know you have every day? Then when you have the ingredients for special items, you can make them a special. There was often disappointment, that what I wanted wasn’t available. After months of trying to order their famous fritters, I finally succeeded, but unfortunately they were greasy. In general though, the food was excellent. The ambiance is non existent at the new location. A few crowded tables in a tiny location. The owner is interesting. She’s an acquired taste, which I guess I’ve never acquired. That was ok though until the day I saw her sneezing on food. She is loud, rude, abrupt & very ‘nickel & dime’ oriented. She wants you to pay extra for every little thing & discourages credit card use. She also complains abt how hard it is to run a business & her business problems on a regular basis. As a customer, I don’t care. Have your menu available, make the food good & I don’t need to hear you’re bitching about the price of tofu. On the other hand, she is talented & knows how to cook & takes great pride in her cooking & in wanting to make sure that you enjoy the meal. If it wasn’t for the sneezing incident, I would still be doing weekly take out here. Prices are a bit on the high side for the quantity of food & there always seems to be an ‘extra’ charge for something or other, but it’s still mid-priced & was well worth it for the quality of the taste.

Didn’t know what to expect when I walked in and saw the very casual and hodge podge look to this restaurant. Don’t let that fool you though, this food is great. I had the ginger chicken, and I aim to come again and try something more. They also have a huge selection of gluten free options for those with a restricted diet.

Amazing food. Amazing flavors and great hospitality. Licked my plate clean on this to-go order:) Will definitely return and recommend. Try out their donuts too! Owner threw in a couple free donuts and I my tummy couldn’t be happier.

A little hard to find but after the rough day we had, it ended well with eating here! We took ours to go because our little ones were getting tired. Food was very deceit and fast.

Small place but excellent food. Sandwiches are excellent, soups are great, and the spring rolls were delicious. They have increased the seating lately and it is now a much better place to eat at.

Amazing food! No MSG, vegetarian and gluten-friendly. Come here if you want to eat to your heart’s delight. Favorites: the spring rolls and the fish clay pot. Phở is delicious also.

Good Flu Killer Phở, as usual. The accompaniments were on the skinny side(a wedge of lime, three sprigs of Thai basil, and a small handful of sprouts), but it wasn’t a problem as I usually like my phở«naked.» Generous portions of shredded chicken and julienned ginger. The owner lady is as gruff as ever, but I just wasn’t in the mood to be ingratiating. When I walked in she was socializing with some folks at the table in the very back, and I believe they were friends of hers. While I ate, they’d bang on the shared wall with the nail salon next door — apparently they’re good friends with the salon folks as the banging was returned. I was also annoyed about the $ 10 minimum credit card policy — I was only 13 cents away from $ 10 and was like, really? If I hadn’t had cash on me, I would have insisted she charge me $ 10. There were positive changes to this place since my last visit, however. The strong nail polish fumes from next door were gone. The tiny restaurant also knocked down the back wall to allow more space and added two more 4-person tables.

The Grilled Pork chop was cooked well and tasted fine. However, the egg rolls in the bun tasted like they were fried in old or rancid oil. They tasted awful.

Okay, so phở is not just phở here. The phở ga broth is far more flavorable than at other restaurants, ginger and other spices make it wonderfully tasty. Also the spring rolls are perfect, there is a hint of mint in every bite. I’ll be back on the weekend to try the sautéed eggplant! (BTW the interior is plain and no beer/wine, so the meal makes the moment here)

THEYHAVEVIETNAMESESANDWICHESHERE!!! Huge plus! So far, this is the only place in the Springs that makes them. Reasonably priced… Viet Coffee and Sandwich for $ 10 flat. The older lady that works there can be rather abrupt but she is thorough. She made me an excellent hot, sweet, and strong vietnamese coffee that had me in heaven. FYI: You cannot eat inside if you buy a sandwich. Sandwiches are to go only. Had to resist laughing at the hysteria it caused the older lady when this family of 3 came to pick up sandwiches and wanted to sit down at a table and eat them. Apparently people come in all the time and take up every seat in the restaurant and when customers show up to dine in, there are no seats for them and the sandwich eaters can be very mean and rude to the employees. So please everyone, be nice and understanding! This is a small establishment and the employees do not speak the best english. If you want to dine in with your sandwich, just order a beverage or appetizer eggrolls like I did(VIETNAMESECOFFEEISTHEBEST!). If you are a mean sandwich eater, shame on you. Great sandwich and coffee. Support your local businesses!

Probably the worst Phở I’ve had. There was no sign of Cloves, Anise or cinnamon in the broth. The noodles seemed over-done and the brisket was a bit thicker than I would prefer. It was basically just a large bowl of watery soup. The one upside of this place is that the owner is a super-nice, funny lady who really puts a face and personality with the restaurant. But I don’t think that is enough to warrant going there. I don’t think I’ll be returning, but if I do, I’ll not be going there for Phở.

I am giving this place only 3 stars out of 5 merely because I have experienced the ‘Lemon Grass bistro’(read my review) before and now all my Vietnamese experiences will sadly be measured up to that restaurant. Pros: The food was pretty tasty. The portions decent. I love the fact that this is a GLUTENFREE restaurant and an MSGFREE restaurant. Kudos! The owner was loud but extremely nice and cordial. She explained how she loved that we paid cash as she is charged a ton by the credit card companies to allow customers to swipe! This is a problem with most family run/local businesses so I encourage you to use cash to support our local businesses(they do take c/c on checks over $ 20!). CONS: Veggies were not as fresh or crisp as I would have wished(read: Lemon Grass has spoiled me), the cilantro in the Phở was in the soup, therefore cooked… I actually prefer it fresh on the side as it was for the thai basil. The onion, that was included as part of the accouterment of the Phở, was the stinkiest I have ever encountered in my life! O. o Strange! Very strange. It was soooo strong I flushed it down the disposal as I wanted it gone from the house. LOL. The restaurant is TINY! Seats exactly 20! It lacks ambiance and is old and dated. It did seem clean though. This restaurant does not offer delivery any longer! Unfortunately we were told that the demand was not enough for it to be worth it… which sucks, cause again the only delivery available in this area is Pizza or Chinese. UGH! Overall good food. I would not enjoy eating in, but would consider this a good place for take out if you live in the area.
