Yellow Brick Pizza has become my go-to for pizza when the weather is cold. If you know me, you know my pizza love lies 100% with Harvest Pizza. However, when it is cold outside and the HP patio is closed, their restaurant shrinks greatly in size. YB is much bigger and very cozy on the inside. They have super comfy booths and entertaining decorum. If you enjoy beer, they have loads of beers on tap and in bottles. They even have Brother’s Drake apple pie! They also have some very tasty cocktails. These can all be enjoyed in their happy hour from 4 – 7 Monday through Friday which is when we stopped in. I tried the Purple Rain which I didn’t love but didn’t hate either. It didn’t have a lot of flavor. My boyfriend had the Tom Collins and he loved it! Now, onto the food: my table ordered an appetizer of nacho tator tots and they were huge! I couldn’t eat them because of my food allergies but the guys I was with devoured them which is always a good sign. As for our pizza, I ordered the small size and it was plenty big for me. I almost couldn’t finish it. I had the spicy BBQ chicken pizza and it was very tasty. I did find the crust to be a little to thin so when you pick up the pizza the toppings slide right off. I would recommend eating the pizza with a knife and fork because of this. I have also tried their gluten free pizza to go back before I was allowed to reintroduce gluten into my diet and I will say that it is pretty good as far as GF crusts go. I also got the vegan cheese, though, and that was pretty gross so I picked it all off. Either way, we had a really great time at YB. Service was excellent and I’m sure we will come back. They’re also connected to Awesome Arcade Bar which is about to receive my next Unilocal review so stay tuned!

Good pizza place in a fun part of town. We ordered the Spicy BBQ Chicken pizza for takeout and it was ready quickly and pretty tasty. It wasn’t the best I’ve had and was a bit pricey, but it’s worth a try, especially to support a local restaurant and try one of their unique offerings.

This is my second review for Yellow Brick. Until this past weekend I had only had carry out, but met a group of friends inside on this occasion. I’ve loved every pizza I’ve tried from here, but I must say I’ve found the winner. Spicy chicken corn chowder. It has a creamy white gravy sort of base and the sweet corn, red onion and chicken are so intensely flavorful. Not spicy at all though. I fell in love with it. I love the upstairs game area, but feel it’s a bit too pinball heavy. It would also be amazing if the games were free like some of the other arcades. Either way– really cool spot, staff seemed like they didn’t hate their jobs, and it wasn’t crazy packed on a Sat night. Go check it out! Some of the best pizza you’ll find in the city.

Not your everyday pizza place. Artisan pizzas and a killer craft and bottled beer selection We got the corn chowder chicken pizza. Very good… like a soup had a baby with a salad. Also tried the ‘big trouble in little china«pizza. Kinda like a crab ragoon. Different but good. They we playing movies from Netflix, family friendly. Then we went to the arcade upstairs. .but that’s another review…

We ordered a medium sausage and onion with their regular sauce to go. Neither of us had eaten it before. The pizza was burnt and that’s basically all you could taste(I’ll post a pic). I wasn’t even sure there was any sauce on it until I saw a small dot of red on one of the slices. The cheese was bland, but any flavor it might have had was drown out by the burnt crust. I wish I had at least one good thing to say about it, but unfortunately I can’t think of a single thing.

This was some of the worst pizza I’ve had. I recently moved nearby and was excited to try out the local pizzas, so I ordered a sausage and onion pizza for pickup. The pickup was uneventful, but unfortunately so was the pizza. The sausage itself was fine, but there was so little sauce I actually thought they forgot to put any on. On the other side of the pizza, the crust wasn’t doing much, either. I enjoy the flavor and char of brick cooked pizza, but this was straight up burnt. Parts of the crust were inedible. I don’t know if they had an off night, but it would take a lot for me to ever go back.

Anyplace that has tater tots with hot sauce is number one in my heart, but fear not the pizza is also spectacular. I hit up yellow brick at least once a month, and every time I am not let down with any of the combos that I try. They also sell by the slice, so if you just want a couple of slices and a pint they got you covered. Speaking of pints, Yellow brick’s beer selection is outstanding. Yellow brick also has a decent mixed drink selection, and I have sampled a few and they are really good. I’ve been with friends numerous times, and nobody has ever had a complaint, so in my opinion yellow brick is one of the top pizza joints in the city!

Yellow Brick is where all the cool kids hang out in OTE to eat pizza and drink beers. I’m not a cool kid, but I do enjoy pizza and beer, hence this is my kind of place. YBP has lots of variety of both pies and pints — locally sourced when possible. My friend Renee and I stopped in for lunch and found a much lighter crowd than usual. It’s worth the wait, but even better to walk right in and be seated. The beer list is massive, and changes often. Local brews are featured, along with various styles. Hang tight, maybe order your usual and spend some time taking in the offerings. Order an appetizer or salad too. The food menu is also a lot to take in — you’ll not be satisfied until you’ve been here at least three times(and maybe not even then). They have all the usual and unusual(potato, pear, corn, scrambled egg), thus it takes some time to really hash out what you want. You can do halves of any two pizzas, if they have the same base crust/sauce — score! We ordered half Jerry Lee Lewis(red sauce, red pepper flakes, provolone, meatballs, basil and parmesan cheese) and half Meggie’s Veggie(red sauce, mushroom, green pepper, tomato, onion and artichoke this time through. If you’re wondering — why three stars? One word — consistency. I do come back, because I’ll have a perfectly lovely experience(see: beer), then have a so-so meal or super-snobby service. I haven’t quite figured out if it’s because I seem high-maintenance, my lack of hipster appropriation, my beer choices, or I’m not ‘hood enough. Alas. I take the good with the not so good at YBP.

Been there a couple times and it’s pretty good. Not mind blowing pizza, but I’ve enjoyed it each time I’ve been there. Decent waitstaff, but not overly attentive. They do have a sweet outside patio and a bunch of beers on tap so that’s definitely a big plus. They’re salad menu is diverse and always pretty good. I’ve never tried their calzones or anything on the menu besides pizza, so I might be missing out on something, but with the items I’ve tried, I’d say it’s pretty average.

My first take-out order was great. It’s what made me want to go back for seconds. Tonight, on the other hand, was a different story. We ordered two pizzas. Once we got home we noticed one of the pizzas was the wrong pizza. It was the«Elliott Smith» but we had ordered a «Boise Surprise».(One has pears with a sweet honey drizzle, while the other is a more savory pie with potatoes.) What was even worse was that BOTH pizzas were inedible due to them being over-baked. The«Elliott Smith» tasted burnt all the way through, and was dry, hard and crunchy. The thicker of the two pizzas was also over-baked, enough so that the toppings were black and brown.(Why would you allow this to be served to a customer?) Both of the crusts were extremely dry, black and rock-hard. Maybe this was just one of those off nights for the people working tonight, but all I know is that we wasted about $ 40 on pizzas that we couldn’t eat.

Yellow Brick has some dang good pizza so If that’s what you were wondering, you can stop reading here. Now I’m not one to order a bunch of weird stuff on my ‘za(and they have plenty of weird stuff) but I appreciate lots of topping options for my more adventurous friends to order that I can taste(and promptly go back to my humble pepperoni pie). Today they had alligator. Seriously. While the wait staff could probably be friendlier… it’s not like they’re mean. They take your order and bring you a pizza — really that’s one of the nicest things you can do for another human. It’s kind of small in there too. Not Harvest Pizza small, but I wouldn’t bring a group with more than 5 people here.

I’ve been to Yellow Brick twice and have definitely enjoyed the pizza and vibe at this hipster hang out. The only thing that needs help is their service. Although, both times I’ve been were with larger groups so I can’t fault them too much. Both times everyone was very pleasant too. We just had to wait awhile for our food to come out. The vibe here is laid back and artsy. They have a decent patio and a small amount of space inside too. I enjoyed their alternative music playlist and they were playing a B-movie above the bar on the big TV. That was pretty neat. I appreciate a bar that doesn’t play sports all the time. Pizza is pretty good. Not my favorite in Columbus but it’s good. I got a BBQ chicken pizza which was much better than the boring pepperoni one I had gotten on my first visit. I love red onions and BBQ together. Very tasty. The small pizza was around $ 10 but I couldn’t eat it all so a pretty good deal. It’s a typical thin, hand tossed crust. So not Donato’s-like. They have a great craft beer selection and a great happy hour. All in all, you should come to Olde Town East. This area is exploding and I’m excited to see what happens next. Yellow Brick is an Olde Town staple, so get here!

Creative pizza for creative people. I think of Yellow Brick as a cultural experience rather than a dining option. You go there because of the people, the atmosphere of weird artsiness, the exploration into beers yet untasted, and to bump into your acquaintances, neighbors and friends. The pizza takes a while(but rest assured it will be perfect), so sit back, look around, enjoy a good conversation, try a couple beers, and have fun with it(which is even easier since the Wizard of Oz pinball machine showed up in advance of the opening of Arcade Super Awesome upstairs.) The pizzas are YUM!!! If you’ve never had the Oak Street pizza, a version of the Italian standard with layers of thinly sliced potato baked into a cheesy base, then you don’t know what you’re missing! The Latin Lover is epic! Epic! Creamy avocado tops out a Mexican pie so dense and rich with flavors you have to make everyone at your table try a slice. TVPizza was great, as well as other specials that accompany a massive chalk drawing on the specials board. They also do a great job with our special requests; we like to order spicy kale and mushroom on half red/half bbq sauce, and it is our signature thing. When YBP first opened, we used to come here and watch skateboarding videos almost nonstop. Now the theme seems to be bad movies, so be warned, they are so bad they are good! Well. Not really!!! But feel free to gawk away and immerse yourself in kitschy Americana. We can laugh at ourselves though! What else? The price is right, the owners are cool, the staff are well-versed, there’s lots of street parking all around, and there’s a cool mural outside welcoming you to Olde Towne. It’s where I live and I am grateful YBP is here!

Best pizza in Columbus! Awesome crust, killer toppings, and not cut into dumb squares like everywhere else in Ohio :) The Disco tots are a yummy appetizer and the tap and bottle selections are extensive. Their affinity for Wu Tang Clan is also evident which makes them double awesome. Try the Ice C.R.E.A.M. for dessert. Definitely a gem of a place.

I went here with a friend for lunch today(Wednesday) and was pretty excited. He had never been, yet I had been a number of times and really enjoy their pizza and atmosphere. This trip was abysmal. I arrived early(11:30 a.m.) and went to sit down, not seeing the hostess stand(it was turned away from the door) asking to wait to be seated. The hostess/server came out from around the bar about the same time I saw the«please wait to be seated» sign. I apologized and asked where I should sit with 3 people(2 adults and 1 infant needing a high chair). She pointed to a table, which I went to sit down. I let her know that I was early and she brought out a couple waters and menus. Everything is okay so far, she has minimal personality(not a single smile), but oh well. My friend arrived on time and we looked over the menus. The server came back and asked if we knew what we wanted and we did. We ordered… she didn’t write anything down… she came back and asked what he wanted on his pizza… he repeated it. We had ordered the garlic bread, 2 pizzas(1 to go), and a sub sandwich. We waited… and waited… and waited… after about 40 minutes, we noticed some food waiting to be served, yet we still have not been served our garlic bread. My friend went to ask when the garlic bread would be out and she didn’t even put an order in for garlic bread! So, he came back and he said that the order that was sitting there waiting to be served was ours and we were going to see how long it would take her to actually serve it. Can you take a guess? It took almost 10 minutes! My pizza was luke warm at best as was his sub. At this point, I was embarrassed as I had raved about Yellow Brick Pizza to my friend and I’m not sure I would even go back after that experience. The food was finally served and we waited awhile for her to return to see if everything was okay, if we needed anything, etc. and nothing. We had to go ask for a box and our check after waiting another 20+ minutes. We both just wanted out of there. Now, I can understand if the place was busy, but it wasn’t. When I went to the washroom, there were maybe 4 tables of a total of 8 – 10 people(including us) and about 3 – 4 people at the bar. To have such poor service with so few people in the restaurant is not acceptable. We ended up paying quickly and leaving just as quickly. I almost always support local restaurants for lunch/dinner outings, unfortunately, I do not see Yellow Brick Pizza topping the list in the near future.

It’s been too long! So I finally was able to quit my fluffin, and revisit this joint! Came on a Sunday evening, around 6:30, so we got seated right away. Our server, Kristen, was a great gal. Laid back, friendly personality, polite, answered all our questions about the different pizzas. We never felt rushed, nor forgotten. Since I’d been salivating over their menu for, oh say a couple of years, I knew exactly what I wanted to try: Spicy Chicken Corn Chowder pie. The pizza came out hot and steaming. Ooey gooey Alfredo-esque sauce. The flavors: melded perfectly! The spicy kale was totally satisfactory(not hot at all). Oh, and YB’s crust is a personal fav. Crispy golden brown on the outside. Soft, yet NOT soggy with the toppings. I fully plane to pop I this place more often. I’m quite sad it’s taken me so long to drop by for a second time. I love the local, down home, neighborhood atmosphere this place exudes. It’s places like this that make a phenomenal food scene!

I’ve been here several times & never have had a bad experience. I’d give it 4 stars if it was bigger & the dough was just a bit crispier. They’ve remodeled a bit. I like, but entry/exit is the same door so be prepared to shimmy through when exiting if folks are waiting. I’ve only had a few different pizza but they’ve all been delicious. Something for everyone & I’ve had no problems subbing an ingredient on a signature pizza. If you can try the tot appetizers, prefer the Nacho tots over the Greek but it’s all personal preference. This place is pretty much downtown Columbus, so may be a trek for some. Parking is not greatest, but again haven’t had any issues. If you love pizza & you haven’t been here yet, this is a must try, worth the trek.

Came in here on a short trip to Columbus, and I’m glad we did. They offer New York style pizza with very thin crust. The cheese was literally dripping off it like I remember seeing in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons twenty years ago. The pepperoni pizza is delicious, and we also tried a spicy bbq pizza, which was just as good and really interesting. They have a surprisingly large beer menu, too. The first one to catch my eye was the agamemnon, a maple syrup stout that sounded amazing. However, it was 22 oz and 12% ABV. And it was 2 pm. Sooo, I went with a coffee stout. That was tasty, so it was all good. I would definitely come back if I’m back in the area. P. S. scope out the artwork on the walls. As you near the bathrooms, there is a piece of work depicting a man making out with a slice of pizza with a thought bubble saying, «You belong to me… to me.» Worth the trip alone.

I didn’t know what to expect. The reviews for this place seem to be on extreme ends of the spectrum. I’m so glad I went. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely come back. The bartender was super friendly and educated me on sour beers. I had the red hot pizza and it was great. This pizza definitely makes my top 5 list and I’m looking forward to trying some more. The beer selection is amazing. I’m guessing around 20 drafts and a solid bottle selection. There was a cool patio with a fire pit outside and the music they were playing was great. It’s all good in the hood!

I was here for my mom’s birthday dinner and wish I would’ve gone somewhere else. I’m not sure if it’s like this most of the time, but we were a bit disappointed. Well, after seeing how many reviews it had, we had to try it. My mom loves pizza plus it was close to our place. Finding a parking place didn’t take long since there were street parking available everywhere. It was around 8pm on a Thursday night and we got seated as soon as we walked in. There was a decent amount of crowd, but they had quite a lot of tables indoor and in the patio area plus the bar. So that felt good After settling down, I couldn’t help but to notice the wall décor. The one that shocked me the most was the enlarged head of a long haired man. I wasn’t sure if it was cool or creepy. Also, the artwork didn’t seem to help the appetite; bloody and eerie modern artworks. «Huh?.. Well, a s long as the food is good, I’m fine,» I thought. The waiter took our drink orders and was back with them within five! Impressive! Now I’m excited about how fast our pizza will be delivered! Tick tock. tick tock. 20mins passed by… 30mins. 40mins. 1hr went by and still no food. Are they building an oven or what? What’s taking them so long!?! Finally, the waiter informed us that the patio area was slammed and the orders were backed up. After an hour and 10mins, we got our pizza! Yay! Now time to eat! But wait, is that bacon I see? No~~ it can’t be cause we asked for no bacon. Took a bite, and YUP! that’s bacon! So we asked if they could remake it but we’ll take it home. And they did for no charge, but we were done with our food and had to wait 10~15min after that. We went in around 8pm and came out a little after 10pm – it was way passed the time we were expecting to get out. The food was great, the waiter kept us informed – unlike those who just tries to avoid going back to the table – , but the wait was just too long. I’m sure I’ll go back for the pizza, but not anytime soon. Like I said, I’m not sure if this is normal, but if you’re looking for a normal to quick dinner, try some place else.
