Thankfully I came at the right time during lunch. As once I was in line with only a few people in front of me, I turn around and the line is almost to the door. I am not a fan of how this location is set up. You walk past all the soups and then order, only to wait again for ur order. Why can’t I just get my soup and then pay? It would have been a lot faster and one less person STUFF in this small area where everyone that he order waits for their food. I line for«ordering» had more space than when u did order. Seems backwards to me. And there are not a lot of tables. Granted most ppl take their food back to the offices but if u want to sit and meet with someone, good luck! As for the food, I only got the chicken and dumpling soup and it was pretty tasty. My friend got the mushroom bisque and a southwest turkey sandwich. She wasn’t a huge fan of the soup but she did like her sandwich. I will probably give this place another shot before writing it off only as it is a little different from all the other lunch places around high and broad.

Spectacular! At least ten different soups three of which were vegetarian. I had the wild mushroom barley. They make great soup here. It comes with a French roll or multigrain or sourdough. You can also get a sandwich or salad. Well done. Great place to eat. Casual atmosphere.

The soups here are delicious and it’s fun to sample all dozen or so varieties. It’s very hard to make a choice when there are so many that are so good. It’s an experience going to this place and having a personal taste test, especially if you’re as baked as the bread bowls are. You’ll want to come back to have a big bowl of almost all of them. But the prices are high enough that only the bankers and politicians who work in the surrounding skyscrapers can afford to eat there every day. The space in there is pretty cramped and the line gets pretty long. Being in the heart of downtown certainly doesn’t make getting there very pleasant either, unless you happen to be on foot. Parking and traffic in the downtown area of any city is Hellish enough that you gotta have a damn good reason to have to be there in order to endure doing it in a car. I’m not sure this place is a compelling enough reason to go through that but if you happen to be in the city anyway or you can tolerate driving in it, then this place should be on your to do list.

Food: met expectations. Zoup is a casual lunch spot so, for me, it would be near impossible to earn 5 stars and still very difficult to get 4 stars. My colleague had the large turkey chili bowl which was huge. I had a cup of the white turkey chili and the Cobb salad with no bacon. Everything was well prepared and I would certainly get the same thing again. Service: most of the workers were very friendly. One was in her own world, but I guess that happens. Broadly speaking, no problems. Atmosphere: as you would expect. Something like a Qdoba or Salad Works. I would definitely go back.

I love zoup, especially because they always have a vegetarian soup option with good protein, like lentils. I also like their summer salad or whatever its called, the one with berries, fresh mozzarella and grated almonds, perfect work lunch.

Every time I walk past I think«thoup!» It’s not great but not bad. Panera is better. Thoup.

Had the chicken veggie chop chop soup and half a burrito salad. Both were good. Thankfully got the food before the crowd showed up.

I had the gumbo a couple weeks ago and it was good food. The service is great and the movement through the line during lunch was not bad! It’s across from the capital building. Great for people watching!

Amazingly awesome soup but expensive. Just prepare yourself at the cash register.

A good selection of really good soups that rotate with plenty of free samples to try and you get a choice of bread. The prices are more on the expensive side for me, but if you want a really good cup of soup, this is the place to go.

It’s all about location, and this place is right near my office, which makes it my go to place on rainy or snowy days. I love the fact that you can submit an order online to avoid the line… however, you end up waiting in a line to pick it up, even if you paid online. The soups are decent, not amazing. I would liken Zoup to a panera spin-off that isn’t any better or worse.

I think the closest comparison I have of Zoup! is kind of like the Jeni’s of soup. When you arrive you are freely offered(and encouraged) to try a wide range of very flavorful soups. The soups are better than average, but not amazing. My favorite soups are the Lobster Bisque — just the right amount of spice — and Chicken Potpie — delicious for a cold, rainy day or when not feeling super duper. The High Street location is fairly busy during the worktime lunch hour, but that can be expected of most lunch spots in the area. I think the biggest hang-up for me at Zoup is the price. A simple lunch — bowl of soup and drink — will run you nearly $ 10. I enjoy a nice hearty soup on a rainy day as much as the next guy, but would like it a lot more if it cost less. –Also: points to Zoup! for their social media engagement. I tweeted once that I was getting their pot pie soup hoping to soothe my sore throat. I promptly received a reply tweet from Zoup! telling me to feel better soon. Props to them!

Wonderful ever-changing soup menu. They label the day’s offerings with notes like ‘vegetarian’, ‘low-fat’, ‘gluten-free’, and things like that, so you can find something to meet your dietary needs, if you have them. The sourdough bread is excellent as well! I love the lobster bisque, pumpkin pie, and tomato soups, so I usually stick with one of those. The smallest serving fills me up really well, and I love that they offer iced tea options as well as sodas. The salad is also worth trying especially the Mexican salad. As the weather warms up I like to get the salad and soup combo, which is perfect for spring and summer.

Zoup provides a nice break from the sandwich shops downtown, and is great on a cold day, but if I didn’t work directly above it, I wouldn’t make time to stop. The soups are always fine, and they have some interesting choices(shrimp and asparagus soup stands out in my mind), but the prices are a little steep. I like that the soups come with bread for dipping, and their usual long lines move quickly. The free samples are a nice touch. Pro tip — you don’t actually order your soup until the register. The people standing behind the soups are just sample dispensers. I’m not sure why Huntington Center eateries have to be so counterintuitive with their checkout lines, but both Zoup and Einstein just seem backwards to me.

Good soup– great selection. Free samples is a great help in selecting one. This place was just what the doctor ordered on a recent blustery Ohio day– the soup hit the spot. Sandwich, not so much. Too salty, skimpy on turkey, big on «sauce». Also, everything costs about a buck more than it ought to. That adds up over time. Tables are pretty cramped too. Not great, but certainly not bad!

It’s been 7 months since my last review of Zoup. Now that it’s been open for awhile, I think it’s time to re-assess. Things I still like: — Variety of soup — Proximity and ease to my(new) workplace at the Huntington(I don’t even have to go outside anymore!) Things I still don’t like: — TOO expensive — TOO salty — not enough fresh herb taste. The soups here don’t taste bad, it’s just not awesome. — TOO much packaging for to-go orders. I save the brown handled bags for other uses, though. — BAD traffic flow inside restaurant. Still confusing about skipping ahead in line if you don’t want to taste, too much pooling of people waiting for orders. I thought this might improve after they were open for awhile and readjusted some systems, but alas. — INEFFICIENT service. There’s a billion people working behind the counter but it still ends up being a disaster. I had to repeat my order eighty-seven times(you know how I hate that). I told the person checking me out what I ordered, and because I didn’t tell her in the exact sequence of however it comes up on her register screen, I had to repeat my order again when prompted by her exact questions(Type? Size? To go?) Ugh. I mean, I guess it’s better that it be correct, but still. Then, the person calling out names for the ready to-go orders had such a thick accent, no one could tell what names she was calling out. I don’t need everyone I interact with to speak perfect English, but perhaps someone else should have been on name-calling duty. I also noticed that I got my order WAAAY before other people who ordered ahead of me. Good for me… this time. For everyone else, it still takes too long just to serve up some soup. Two stars because I’m sure I’ll keep coming here every so often. But, for the most part I’ll try to stay on top of making soup at home and bringing it to work with me. That’ll be even MORE convenient, cheap, and way better tasting.

I am a huge fan of anything soup/sandwich/salad, so when I heard about Zoup, I was more than excited to try it out. It’s in a hidden location, in the Huntington Building, right off of High Street, so it doesn’t have it’s own separate building. They have a HUGE selection of soup. Of course, the day that I decided to go, it was about 80 degrees outside and muggy, so not your typical soup kind of day, but I had to give it shot anyways. It’s nice because they let you try any of the soups that they have, and they don’t make you feel bad when you try more than one(or three) samples. I tried the shrimp and craw fish, mac and cheese, and then the lobster bisque. I ended up getting the lobster bisque because any lobster is pretty much my weakness. I also ordered the chicken tuscano sandwich, which wasn’t bad, but kind of generic. The soup alone deserved five stars, since there were actual chunks of lobster in the soup. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to get the sandwich. They also have salads, which looked pretty good, but overall, this is definitely more of a soup place.

Well, the option to try the soups before you buy them is nice. I seriously considered this the Jeni’s Ice Cream of soups! There were nearly two dozen options! And of course, free wifi is always a plus, and so is convenient location and ample seating near outlets. But for seriously fresh and tasty soups, and ones that contain less-than-a-salt-truck of sodium, I’d weigh other nearby options. I ended up with a staff recommendation of the asian noodle soup and a half chicken caesar salad. For that combo and a medium drink my total was almost $ 11. Not too bad, but unfortunately they forgot my spoon on the first trip, and completely left of the salad dressing. Minor things, have you, but still, noticeable and mildly inconvenient. Even though I got to try the asian noodle before I ordered it, and approved, after a few bites, you’re gonna need at least a gallon of water. I found more than a fair share of grissly chicken in my soup and on my salad, and that too(the chicken) was overly salted. Again, if you’re looking for a particular kind of soup that isn’t the daily special, I’d give this place a shot(esp if you’re looking for a place to work or enjoy free wifi) but honestly, there are a few other nearby options I’d recommend first. **Bathroom note** — No bathrooms inside. You have to go to the bottom floor(down the escalator) to find ‘em.

Zoup? Dumb name great soup. The southwest turkey sandwich was delicious. Heated enough to melt the cheese and warm the meat while keeping the veggies cool. The multi grain bread is very hearty as well. Perfect warm lunch spot on a cold and windy Ohio day. Yes they take AMEX too.
