Wow I love this place I’m suprized that it has such a crummy review, yes its on the expensive end but its worth it I believe. I love their cheese pizza

This review is the worst one I have left on Unilocal, and I think it will be hard to beat. This review is not just based on cleanliness, or customer service, or food quality. It is based on all of the above, and you should know, this restaurant is out for one thing and that’s your money. The cheapest ingredients possible are served to you with a horrible experience, and it is disgusting. Lunchmeat for your pizza, lunch meat for your calzon, lunch meat for your French dip sandwich. Cleanliness, this place is disgusting, keep your children away, keep your hands off of all the games, just keep them away. Customer service. Seriously it took them 10 minutes to even recognize we were in the restaurant and we were literally the only people that walked in at 5:30. We should’ve known better when we walked in and the place was empty. The food, it was disgusting. The French dip was lunch meat which is shown in the picture, the pizza was a zero with zero flavor, the calzones were horrible with chopped up lunch meat, and the salads were from the salad bar that sits all day. They charge 7.50 for a One time salad. Seriously? Cleanliness, is on a whole other level, this place is disgusting. We watched management spill all the old salad dressings and salad bar leftovers on the floor and wall and then walk away. We all thought she was going to get somebody else to clean it, but when we walked out it was still there(35 minutes later). That speaks volumes about their cleanliness level and what their serving to their customers.

Decent pizza, for the price, but the real kickers are the sandwiches and soups! The staff isn’t too friendly though, my friend and I were the only ones in the place and yet the staff kept asking us when we were going to leave. We were only there for maybe forty minutes and felt rushed half way through.

The pizza is as I remember from my youth. The last visit was disappointing. The pizza was sparse and for two very basic pizzas it cost over $ 50.

I do not live here, but when visiting family, this is one of our go to places. The pizza is delicious and great quality. If you want great tasting pizza, come here. It’s a bit pricey though.

Weirdest place I have ever been for pizza. The pizza itself(small cheese) was okay– but SO much cheese– like way too much. Salad bar is akin to something you would find at Sizzler in 1981(think jello, fake crab salad, cottage cheese, iceburg lettuce) and it was super pricey. Confederate flag down the street. Lots of American flags. I felt very out of place.

By far the worst pizza I have had in a restaurant. The crust was so thin and half burnt, it would cut my gumbs like glass. The women there was rude to the waitress and was way over priced. A side of jo jos were like 8 or 9 bucks and there wasn’t more then two potatoes cut. That’s like 4 bucks a potato. I don’t know how they come up with their prices but usually food cost x 3 and there’s your price. I don’t care how you cut a potato it don’t cost 4 bucks for a spud. With that, the pizza was a dud. The funny thing is someone gave me a gift certificate, I didn’t pay for the bad food and it still pissed me off. I have had pizza all over this country, NY, Chicago even Alaska. If you think this is good pizza, its only because you never really have had good pizza. I felt really bad for the waitress.

Whoa! Totally great pizza! I won’t lie, my expectations were low, but I was so surprised by how good our food was! I got a basic cheese pizza, Manfriend got a gluten-free sausage pizza, and our daughter got spaghetti. All of us loved our food! We briefly encountered the owner, and she seemed kinda drunk but nice.(She’s mentioned in many of the previous reviews.) The younger girl working the counter was beyond friendly and helpful, and even offered us extra paper plates, napkins and silverware when she found out we were staying in a hotel.

We were in Coos Bay to celebrate my Dad’s 80th birthday; he wanted to go crabbing. We arrived just one hour before closing, but the young lady in charge made us feel right at home. The pizza was amazing, the service was excellent. Next time we are even close to Coos Bay, we will stop by for sure. They even made a heart shaped mini pizza with a candle and sang happy birthday to my Dad. Amazingly friendly people. We enjoyed meeting Mrs. Dave too, really nice to hear how long they were in the pizza business. Thanks again for a lovely evening… the warmth and hospitality was totally appreciated. Jenn

The owner is very rude to her employees AND customers. Pizza is very good, but not worth 29 dollars for a medium. Atmosphere is unorganized, salad bar is tiny. The pizza makes up for the lack of compassion. I would recommend the garlic chicken. But get it delivered so you do not have to deal with the owner.

We ordered a 5 Meat pizza(medium) and it was very good. There was no grease, and it was still warm and took very little time to get it after we ordered. The medium had 8 slices and between the three out of five of us there was still a slice left. Two of us had the french dip, and it was excellent. The sandwich was very warm and the dip was in excellent flavor. Not to hot nor was it to cold. Service was good, the lady/manager was very lively. Kept cracking jokes and being very friendly. All in all a good service, only reason why it has a 4⁄5 was because of the cleanliness of the tables, there wasn’t a lot of workers and many tables were unclean. But very good service and food.

This place has very good pizza. The prices are kind of high but the quality of food is excellent. The Hawaiian pizza is the best one I have ever eaten. Great selection of menu items and nice party room.

I arrived about 4pm. I was the only customer in the place. The service was ordinary. I ordered a medium pizza to go($ 22), plus $ 3 for a bud light(steep). The pizza(canadian bacon, olives, tomatos) was good. The place had a salad bar, small, but I did not check it out much. I would have given 5 stars, but did not because of the 7 tables available for seating, 5 were dirty with grease marks and food particles. They did tell me they delivered and I would try them again on my next visit.

Didn’t have the best experience today. Customer service was very questionable and my ‘hot’ sandwich was served borderline cold. The salad bar was completely out of lettuce and I had to wait over 15 minutes for them to bring out more lettuce. The person I was there with got their food and ate it before I could even get to the salad bar. I asked one of the men who worked there if I could just get soup instead so I didn’t have to wait(the combo I got came with either soup or salad), but he refused so… yeah. Probably won’t go back.

Good oldskool pizza … if you can stand the depressing surroundings, the high prices, and the crabby owner(We assume she’s the owner. No one could keep a job and be that miserable.) The décor is, to be kind, spartan. And it wasn’t clear what we were supposed to do – wait to be seated, order at the counter, go back to the truck and phone in an order? After we got the initials sorted out, we ordered our standard test pizza at the counter — a medium pepperoni and mushroom for $ 18.45. The draft beer selection was weak, but we also ordered to Mirror Ponds for $ 4.25 each. The pizza was great. You couldn’t see the cheese for all the spicy pepperoni. The crust was crisp, thin, and tasty. And it was so hot I burnt the %$#& out of my mouth. The beers were good, but small. In their thin-waisted mugs, I’m guessing they were 12 ounces max. At any rate, way too small a serving for $ 4.25. One of the main complaints about Dave’s seems to be price. And scanning the menu, it’s clear you could get played here if you’re not careful. In particular, $ 7.25 for one pass through the lame little salad bar by the front door is crazy. Nor do I think the average kid would appreciate the quality of the food — at least not enough to warrant these higher prices. But selective adults should be able to eat here well at a reasonable cost.

Just a quick update for Dave’s. They have a good Pizza and the Calzones are good also. Still pretty expensive IMO. I still make the drive to Coquille/Denny’s when not in a hurry.

Dave’s is back… Pizza is still good. Quality ingredients, good crust. Not gourmet foodie pizza but a great pie to share with the family or team. The location is a little off the main drag so we have to keep reminding ourselves that it is there. We usually order on the phone and pick it up to go so I can’t report on wait times(pretty quick for pickup… 20 minutes). You won’t find a 5 dollar pizza like the big franchise chains but they do have a great selection of affordable sandwiches, entrees, salads, and sides. Yum…

My mother wanted to treat me to lunch on Valentine’s Day, and being a single man with no fine lad to call his lover, I obliged. She chose Dave’s Pizza and together we set off for a mother/son date on the most romantic day of the year. The pizza was just as delicious as I remember! The both of us each had a trip through the salad bar and shared a small pepperoni pizza(of which we were able to have a few slices left to take home). The girl who took our order /served us was super friendly, and we expect to come here again!

It took 45 minutes to get out pizza and we were there on a weeknight :(I was so disappointed in that aspect of it. The location is terrible. The whole place is oddly laid out, very dated, and there is hardly any parking. There was a boom box playing loud music and very little seating. After waiting 45 minutes, we finally got our pizzas. One was burned and tasted over cooked and there other two were okay. Not superb but just okay. With a 45 minute wait time, I’m not sure what all the hoopla is about for this place but I don’t think we’ll return. I will say that our server was very nice and the employees all seemed friendly. That part was great.
