Precious place. Eclectic atmosphere, food too amazing to describe. They won’t lead you astray with the amazing specials or drinks. We Had a fabulous Valentine dinner, and I would come back to the island just for this quaint exciting place. Impressed, and overjoyed to have a weekend away and wish we would have found this place for lunch and dinner!

I love food a whole lot. More often than not, I plan my whole day around what I’m going to eat. Dragonfly definitely presented a challenge, as the entire menu seems to be equal parts delicious. One of the daily specials on the evening that I dined here featured quenelle, which was probably the highlight of the meal, and something I had never even heard of before stepping foot in Dragonfly.(For fellow Unilocalers who also may be in the dark, quenelle is a French food term describing a mixture of creamed fish, or meat with a light egg binding. Might not sound like a sexy side, but it wowed everyone at the table!) Our party of 5 had nothing but good things to say about every meal, beverage and appetizer that was ordered. Great and knowledgeable staff as well. An easy choice for best sit-down restaurant on the island!

OMG! What a secret is hidden over the bridge. I can’t believe I ate almost the whole thing. Lasagna with white cream sauce was the best I’ve ever had. Everyone else at my table was floored with everything they ate. The drinks were plentiful and had a huge variety of beer. I’ll definitely be back again.

Had the Ahi Tuna special last night, wife had the fish tacos. The special came with a 3 shrimp skewer, which was nicely done, an artichoke salad which was awesome, a quinoa zucchini au gratin which was so-so, and a slab of Tuna cooked to perfection and dressed with a cream sauce. Fish tacos looked good, I’m not a fan of tilapia so they are no good for me. Atmosphere is qwerky, we ate in the lounge area which is more nautical themed, got a view of the main eating area and we could say it is rather«special» :) Server was great, food came quick and it was an enjoyable time. Thank you Dragonfly!

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, the ambience, decorations, service, and the hilarious characters in this place made for an amazing experience, but the food was not as great as I expected. I tried escargot($ 8+), crème brûlée($ 5.50), and coffee($ 2.25). Escargot looked great but was super salty. The salt detracted from the potentially great dish. If I rated it I would give it a 2 – 3 stars. Crème brûlée was a 4 star dish but it’s was a bit too eggy. Coffee was ok. I was disappointed that a French place did not have cappuccinos. I would recommend this place, but would stay away from escargot!

Breezy, casual, beach restaurant atmosphere with friendly, laid-back service is Dragonfly’s feature offering. It’s refreshing to see a small, family-owned business on the Island offering a bit of culinary variety in a landscape dotted with chains, taquerias, and burger joints. I like the concept the restaurant’s owner is striving for and appreciate the sense of adventure in cuisine, but feel the place still has a way to go to deliver its potential. Dishes are ambitious but the flavor palates and execution do not seem fully thought out and accomplished. Our experiences have ranged from good to «meh». Ambience ran the gamut as well. Love the casual seaside look, but not the feel. The seating in the main room(the one with the bar) is quite comfortable, but the benches in the adjacent dining room are on the rickety side and you’re likely to spend the night getting jostled by the people sitting behind you. Not what you’d expect for a date night or a nice conversation venue with friends. Despite my lack of a more laudatory rating, I will definitely return to the Dragonfly. The service is always friendly and the homemade infused liquor offerings compensate for a sparse wine list. Not a haven for foodies but a nice change from the ordinary with great potential to develop and become much more.
