Doctor EyeCare

This one-​star review is based on the receptionist who answered the phone, who mumbled to the point of being nearly incoherent and kept getting my information wrong as I repeated it to her. She sounded like a bored high schooler who was annoyed at having to answer the phone. Your receptionist is the first point-​of-​contact with new and existing customers; if you can’t hire qualified people to handle basic office skills, that doesn’t speak very well of your practice. Hire a receptionist who cares about doing her job or you’ll continue to lose prospective patients.

Dr. Allen Safir and his staff were very accommodating and welcoming. I got an eye exam for contacts and was not pressured to buy glasses at all. Also before deciding to go, I called a few other top reviewed eye care businesses and found out this one to be by far the cheapest priced in the Dallas area. Something I looked into since I don’t have vision insurance.

We are repeat customers. Always received great service by staff, excellent selection and prices, plus got finished glasses in a few days. Would recommend them to anyone.

Went in on a Friday afternoon by appointment, not a very long wait at all — very friendly staff, Dr. was very nice also. Picked out some great frames, cant wait to get them in!

Called to check pricing since I don’t have insurance and the lady just sounded distracted and not wanting to give me more information. Definitely will not be calling back to make an appointment.

Great for an eye exam, but when purchasing glasses, they max out your insurance and ask for you pay additional $$ over your copay, I took my prescription to Walmart to purchase glasses for my children.

I found out that my insurance does not cover Eye Care, and I came to the point that I needed contacts or glasses, so I started calling optometrists in the area, and this place was the least expensive for consultation, contact and glasses exam all together. Other places charge you extra depending what you are going for. Do not pay attention that the small building is modest and older looking. Dr Allen B Safir is the best professional, with PHd and other professional achievements prints I noticed hang on the walls. Same equipment you will see at other fancy Dr. Offices. You will have a lot of personal attention and time with Dr. Safir. My appointment was on time. They took me on the same day I called, and I walked out with free par of try-​on contacts. They offer walk-​ins late afternoons! Ask for Valery, the best Assistent who will follow up with you, answer all your questions, and will return your phone calls quick.

I am so happy with the overall experience! My eyes had been bothering me for months and I had been to other optometrists in different states (I’m a travel nurse) and I finally found a wonderful optometrist who was attentive and thorough! My eyes are 100 times better and he even got my glasses prescription fixed since the last optometrist had given me some that were way too strong! Thank you Doctor Eye Care!!!

This Dr office is super easy. Easy to get appointment. Super fast and you are in and out quickly. Even when you are out of contacts they will give you a pair to get you by until you come in for the appointment. Good prices also. They beat 1 – 800 Contacts prices!!!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience at Doctor Eye Care. From the receptionists to to the Office Manager to Dr. Safir, they made the experience so easy. My glasses (which I LOVE) with bifocals were ready in 4 business days. Amazing!
They even called me after a few days to see how my news glasses were working out.

What an excellent place to get your glasses. Dr. Safir went out of his way to ensure that my glasses were as per my requirements. And, complementing his professionalism was Valerie for customer service. She made sure that my glasses sat JUST right on my face (I have high prescription lenses, so my eyes hurt even if the glasses are a little off). You might be taken aback by the look of the office (the place looks and smells old), but who cares when the service is this awesome!

I just needed a replacement pair of glasses.
The office is inside an older building that isn’t nice looking, but real estate is so expensive that I give them a pass on the looks of the building.
So, after handing my insurance card and ID a receptionist, she asked, «Will this be single vision or bifocals?» I said, «single.» To which she replied, «Are you sure because I’m looking at your birthdate.»
WTH?!! The only reason that rude heifer did not get told off was because there was a little kid in the waiting room :-/​
Anyway, I looked at my choices of frames, which were OK, but decided to take my business to less rude people.

I can’t say enough how great my first experience was here. I got in the same day I called to see if they had appointments as a walk-​in. I only waited 10 mins. Dr. Sapir EXPERTLY fit me for my gas permeable contacts AND best of all, the price was less expensive than any place I’d had an exam and gotten contacts in the last decade! Some places like a dr. Ivan Bank at Insight Eyecare will charge you close $ 300 just for the exam for contacts. I only paid $ 148 for exam and contacts… with $ 125 applied for insurance. Amazing!!! Also, Dr. Saphir was incredibly nice and figured out I did not need a bitoric lens, which is much more expensive… Dr. Bank insisted I needed one.

Dr. Safir and staff are great. I have been coming here for a couple of years now. I never have a issue getting an appointment and never have a long wait when I do visit. Dr. Safir is thorough and listens to my issues and concerns. I had some problems with my eye glasses which I purchased elsewhere and they were nice enough to help me with my fit issue. I highly recommend this physician and his staff. The prices are great too, not outrageous like some other physicians I had visited prior.

Excellent experience. Front desk staff extremely friendly and upbeat. Doctor was professional. Best eye care appointment I’ve ever had. I will recommend this place to all my friends. You can buy your glasses here on site or take your prescription outside. I disagree with others who said the place was shabby. I think the place was charming. It seemed like it may have been a house at one time. Not sure.

My appointment was on time! Everyone was very friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable! When I went to pick up my glasses 5 minutes late-​damn traffic-​the door was locked, but when I got my car Valerie ran out and stopped me to get them adjusted! The best customer service! Thank you all.

Once again, my Unilocalers didn’t let me down! I loved my experience here. While it doesn’t look like much from the street, the staff was welcoming and helpful and I was seen right on time. Did I mention I called and got a same day appointment? great for people like me who run out of contacts! I took my contact prescription with me (I always get them cheapest at Sam’s Club). Also decided to get a new pair of glasses too– Not only is the prescription great, but they look good, were discounted by the doc, and were ready fast! I’ll recommend to friends and be back!

Very nice staff and great doctor. Came in as a walk-​in and was taken care of relatively quickly and very courteously. Exam was thorough and everyone was very attentive. Not a bad price for the exam or lenses. Definitely recommend.

Very nice staff and options for glasses. I got a pair that I loved and unfortunately lost them. When i went back for a new pair they gave me an extra discount since my insurance wasn’t going to cover the second pair this year.
